AOL for FREE if you have BYOA or Broadband

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I just dropped the $10.95 fee! Free AOL-woo hoo! :cool1:

Thank you OP for posting this, I called and the guy in the phone volunteered it, I didn't even have to ask.

Well here goes nothing... I am on the phone in queue right now... Let see what they say. I'll update you as it becomes available

Rachael

Thank you! ! You just saved me 14.95 a month... :worship:

I like most everyone else posting have only kept aol for my email. Now I need to let the rest of my family know this great news. Unlike me they dont read the disboard :confused3 Boy will they be happy with me. They will probably take me out to dinner for this information... :dancer: Anyway thanks again :goodvibes

question: I have cable, but not an aol account.... can i get in on this deal to access aol?

UPDATE:

They wouldn't give it to me... offer was for exclusive people and it expired a little bit ago.... I got very agitated and then demanded she gave it to me because I found it pretty "convientient" that it "ended" as you guys are still getting it. After 15 mins on hold she came back and said she would give me this exclusive deal but I can't share it with anyone else... so SHHHH its our little secret!

I HATE AOL and this just further solidifies my feeling... Thankfully I won't be giving them ANYMORE MONEY!

I just called the above # and spoke with a really nice AOL Rep. She said AOL is offering the free service as a way to get more advertisers. The more AOL subscribers they have the more they can chage for Ads on AOL.
I was told that anyone with Broadband Service could still have AOL for free since AOL would not be providing dial up services for you. Also no tech support is offered. We have been on Braodband for over a year now and I also have been paying the $6+ a month just to keep my AOL for e-mail - Thanks for posting this info. Puts more $ into our Disney fund! :cool1:

I just got off the phone with AOL.

I never mentioned that I wanted to cancel. I was too chicken that they would actually cancel it. :rotfl2: Plus, DH would of killed me. :rotfl: I just said I have my high speed internet access through Bell South and I wanted to switch my account to their free account when you BYOA.

Took about 2 minutes and I was all set. No more 9.95 a month. Free AOL :cool1:

Thanks OP :thumbsup2

We also made the Call this morning and im now on the Free plan..
Thanks :wizard:

This is really a deal when you consider as aol members we get free mcafee virus protection too. :thumbsup2

OK, let me get this straight....

We have broadband. We sign onto our computer through the AOL link though...

We also share an AOL account with my parents. They have a screen name and we have a screen name. My parents pay for the account

Anyway, nobody wants to lose the screen names. Are you saying that my dad could call AOL and say he wants to cancel and all will be the same? I can still sign onto AOL at my house with my broadband connection?

Also, I wonder if AOL will let me open a new account for free since I have broadband? Anyone tried that? :confused3 Then there would be no more need for sharing!

Joy

I think this won't work for us - we have BYOA but have set up a dial up account for my inlaws under our screen name - free access for them.

Darn!

Any hopes for regular dial up AOL user? yeah yeah I know get up with the times right?

Jimboch :surfweb:

If parents are on a BYOA plan, and log on not using the Dial up Feature.

You will loose the Dial up portion to the plan
ours was 5 hours of dial up / per month. USELESS :teeth:
some have unlimited dial up. depends on the plan price..
Some folks AOL is the only Provider of the Service.
we actually receive our internet thru our Cable compamy
and use internet explorer and have our homepage set to Gateway.net.
that is how we bring our own access. and have the BYOA plan.
If this is true, then the anwser would be YES.

Im on aol right now ..Free :teeth:

Yippee!!!!    I'm getting free AOL!!!!!!
(more money to spend on Disneyshopping) Thanks soooo much for posting this!
