We flew from belfast last monday, it was our first time taking DD on a plane and she loved it! I can honestly say that she surprised us all week, she was on her best behaviour the whole time.
i booked BS transport to take us to DLRP. Our flight was due in at 21:25 and their driver was there waiting when we arrived.. All fine so far! then when we got to the taxi, he said he would be back in a minute. 5 mins later he arrived back with another 3 passengers. The other ppl in the taxi told us that he was approaching ppl in the airport and offering to take them to the resort for 50 euros. When we got to our hotel he asked us for the 80 euros as arranged and i gave it to him but asked him why when we had booked a private shuttle and had paid for a private shuttle he had taken another fare? he said he'd been waiting since 9pm and that he had dropped us off first so we shouldn't be annoyed - is this right?? i certainly wasn't happy!
Anyway, when we walked into the disneyland hotel it took my breath away. It was so beautiful and the receptionist was really helpful. When we got up to our room our luggage was there waiting for us. The view from our room was fabulous, our balcony was on the right facing out towards the studios and you could see sleeping beauty's castle, also there was a small pooh bear teddy on the bed which DD loved. The bed was big enough for all 3 of us and DD loves to spread out! We asked what the best time was for going down for breakfast and the advice that we were given was spot on, any time before 8:30 - and for the whole week we timed to to perfection - no queue and loads to eat!! then after unpacking we headed for the village for a quick bite to eat before bed - unfortunately everywhere was closing and we ended up buying chocolate from the vending machine at the RER station to keep us going. Then we all climbed into bed and had a good night's sleep....

Sounds a bit off- if it's a PRIVATE shuttle no one should share - and he shouldn't have charged you MORE than the others either!! Not surprised you weren't happy! Shame about the lack of food too.... but sounds like you were impressed with the DH and hope to read more soon!!

There is a lot of people on the boards that have used BS transport and I have never heard of that happening before. What a cheek - you hired it as a private shuttle and that is what it should have been.

I agree with others that this is a cheek. It is also illegal for private hire companies to tout for business at the airport. I would be sending a sternly worded email to BStransport since they may not know that this practice is taking place by their driver(s). If the airport was aware of this they could ban BStransport from operating within the airport property.

Anway, glad the DLH was beyond your expectations.

Cannot believe BS Transports doing that to you as we used them a few weeks ago and they were fine. If it was me I would definately write a letter to them and let them know that you are not happy and that the arrangement was for PRIVATE transfer from the airport to the resort, not to go in with three other passengers whom you know paid only 50 euros. I am interested to know if anything happened when you returned with BS Transports as to be perfectly honest, I bet their office do not even know what he is doing at the airport and he is probably pocketing these extra fares for himself, so without you complaining they could probably be unaware of what he is doing.

i have just emailed BS transport so it will be interesting to hear what they have to say.. i will keep you posted. we told the other passengers in the shuttle what was happening re booking and cost for us. There were 2 ladies and a young boy, we had me DH and a 2yr old.. but we held off saying anything to the driver until we arrived because we thought there might have been a chance that our fare would be reduced. Don't know what happened when they got to their hotel tho.

I got a phone call from the owner of BS transport this afternoon. He apologised profusely and said that the driver had admitted taking the extra fare and been reprimanded.

He thanked me for bringing the incident to his attention and said that he was aware that if i had made an official complaint that his licence could have been revoked. He said that his company relied heavily on word of mouth recommendations and promised us a full refund and discount the next time we travel.

I was more than happy with this as I would have settled for an apology!!

Absolutely brilliant for you. I am so glad that you got in touch and got it sorted. I did say that it would be possible that the company knew nothing about it. Although the refund of money is not at issue here it is the way the matter in hand, that is a great bonus for you!!!

I would have totally done the same!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
