AoA or AKL Kidani Villas?

Hi! We are planning a trip with my cousin's family in January. They are DVC members and are going to be staying at Kidani Village in AKL so that was where we said we would book too. My other cousin works at Disney and can get us 40% off a 1-bedroom suite.

However, even with the discount (or we looked into renting DVC points too), its still way more expensive then AoA, which was another option we looked at. We like AoA because we definitely want a suite. Its about half the price of AKL.

So I have two questions:

1) Is staying at AKL worth twice the price over AoA?
2) For those who have stayed at AoA, does the main bedroom have a door that closes? From the pictures it kind of looks like it is all one open floorplan... we really need a door that closes to make sure all the light sleepers in our family get rest!

Thanks! Oh I guess I should mention that it will be me, DH, DS (4) and DD (2) staying in the room together.

IMHO No, it is not worth the price difference, but I will probably be in the minority. While I did not dislike AKL by any means, I did not feel it was worth the money. Kidani is beautiful but is far, far removed from the main food court.

I live on a farm so looking out the window and seeing animals was a little "meh" to me. :coffee: Granted my farm doesn't have zebras, etc but in some respects "A horse is a horse of course of course!" :woohoo:

Personally if I could afford it I would stay at Kidani. The rooms and the resort are beautiful
