Can anyone confirm of Art of Animation is still offering the free animation drawing classes at the resort? I know its offered at AK now, so wasn't sure if they discontinued it at the resort because of this. We are not doing AK on this trip, and DH loves these classes!

If they are offered, can anyone confirm the approximate times? I read in an older thread the classes took place at 11am, 2pm and 5pm daily. Just trying to get an idea if this is still accurate for planning purposes.

Thanks!

Those times are still accurate.

Great, thanks @dansdad !

ETA: Any idea if these classes fill up like they used to at DHS? Just wondering how early we should arrive.

I will warn the overall experience is not as good as HS & I haven't tried AK yet. We sat on ottomans (no back) in a corner of AOA lobby where the TV is set up for cartoon watching. They gave us the cheapest, thinnest typing paper 8.5" x 11" to stick into a 29¢ clipboard (no more backlit drawing desk in a wrap around theatre centered on an animator, on large thick drawing paper worthy of taking home as a souvenir). Another poster suggested I bring better paper of my own, as we've kept every drawing from over the years & I have them stored in multiple art books in my living room (i.e. a big deal to us). I had all but dismissed AOA's poorer version of an old classic, but may give it another try with BYO option. Just wanted to pass this on as food for thought.

Thanks for the info @shocker ! That is definitely helpful. Now I won't go out of my way to make sure we catch it!

I echo shocker's warnings. My DD really missed it not being at DHS anymore and was really looking for to this. We took an Uber over to the resort, got there almost an hour early, only to find ourselves sitting on a continuous ottoman with a bunch of people standing around us having side conversations etc as we held our clipboard and tried to stretch and strain to see the screens around other people. DD still had a fine time, and that's what we cared most about, but she doesn't want to go back.
