Seems a shame to throw them away. I got some really cute one this year. I'm not the craftiest of person, but I'm willing to try anything. Curious if there are any useful ideas out there :confused3

When I was a kid (maybe 3rd grade?) we made houses out of 7 cards that you could use to hold the next years cards. There's one on the bottom, 2 wide ones on the front and back, 2 tall ones on the sides, and then 2 wide again to make the roof. The tall cards get cut with a point to make the roof, and they all get hole punches in the corner where you tie them together with yarn. It was really cute and we used it for years. I think it's still around somewhere...if you're interested I could probably come up with a better description.

hmmmm. I might try that. your description is fine. i can go from that. thx.

I know some of our local nursing homes will take them and use the fronts for activities with the residents during the year.

I make gifts tags out of them. You can cut your own shapes or trace a shape with a cookie cutter (such as stars, trees, snowmen etc.) and then you have gifts tags for all your gifts- I haven't bought gift tags in years! Just make sure you check if there is already writing on the back side of what you are tracing.

OH MAN!!!!! that's a great idea! thx.

A neighbor of mine does a really astounding project with leftover cards.

Take about 30-40 same-sized cards and cut the fronts into circles of equal sizes.

Fold/crease the edges in on three sides.

Now, assemble them into a ball, glueing one creased edge to another.

It creates a beautiful ball-shaped object.

When the glue dries, she edges everything with glitter and punches a hole at the top for a hanging string or ribbon.

Then she adds ribbon streamers to the bottom.

It's absolutely lovely hanging down in a foyer.
