Anyone worrying about their trip?

We leave three weeks from today. We borrowed our DVC points to stay at OKW and our use year is approaching so we are really stuck. Plus, we've already got our MNSSHP tickets.

I was just curious how everyone else is feeling about their upcoming trips? Nervous?

If Ivan is bad think about poor Florida! I'm not too sure how it will be driving down as far as gas, etc. goes (We would take I-75.) even three weeks from today.

And I know I shouldn't worry about hurricanes, but I'm sure many a month ago wouldn't have predicted three in a row would hit Florida! At this point I wouldn't be off to say I'm worried about the weather as well.

Plus, like I mentioned in an earlier thread of mine, it feels odd to be worrying about a trip to WDW for fun when I just read a thread about lack of gas, power and milk. These people are hurting.

I dunno...

Are people keeping their ressies?

Shan, we are flying down the night of October 6th. As long as the planes are flying I guess we will go. I too feel funny worrying about my points, what a strange year this has been! I saw that 1964 was the last time Florida got hit by 3 hurricanes in one season! We have tickets to MNSSHP and Cirque. Also, DHs family lives in the area and they are looking forward to seeing us ( we always spend one full day with them!) I guess I am just trying not to worry about it until the last few days.....Lacee

We're leaving close to you. I pretty much am going if my plane's flying. I think the Orlando economy could probably use my tourist dollars. I know there are Florida residents sitting on both sides of the fence on this one. I also think at this point it's so far out to really know what it will be like then. All we can do is wait and see.

Yeah, I'm a bit worried. Part of me thinks the law of averages is on my side (for no more hurricanes) but the other part of me is watching the Weather Channel religiously. I feel selfish being worried about my trip while others are in deplorable living conditions. So, hopefully our trip will go off without a hitch. I have faith & trust, now I just need a little bit of...pixie dust!!

We leave in a week and unless the flight is cancelled we'll be going. Yes, we're a wee bit concerned but it's looking like Ivan is taking a bit of a turn so I'm beginning to think it will miss much of Florida......they sure have had it rough the last month or so. :(

I live in south florida and I am going up on the 23rd of sept in 2 weeks. We are a little worried but we are not about to cancel a trip that we have been planning for one year. Plus all the time I have spent on the phone making ps's, and booking fireworks cruises, and order stuff from the GF etc. I am still hoping and praying that Ivan does not hit us... but if Disney is open we are going even if it does hit.

We arrive on the 26th, and we're still going. I don't plan to cancel unless another hurricane is about to hit. It does seem odd to be worried about our vacation when so many are facing devastation from the hurricanes.

We are scheduled to leave on 9/25.

I am worried , and like another poster mentioned I too have been watching the weather channel faithfully. I've fallen asleep with it on for the past 5 nights

I think I have decided to quit stressing though.I mean, I can't keep a hurricane from coming. If there is a bad situation brewing when its time to leave, I'll deal with it then.If one arises while we are gone, well lets just say I will make sure we have extra funds on the CC just in case we have to stay an additional night or so :teeth:

Palmtreegirl we are leaving on the 22nd and also from PA.

I am not worried about the weather I am worried about the girls getting sick. there is alot of viruses going around the schools right now and I want them healthy!!

Not at all worried. We are leaving in a few hours and are looking forward to having fun.:goodvibes

First off, my main worry is Florida and its residents. I hope that they don't have to continue to suffer through more misfortune.
Secondy, we leave the 23rd and intend on going. We're keeping an eye on the weather. Ivan should be long gone by our departure time, but want to see if anything else is in sight. If it looks like another storm is on its way then, we will reconsider.

We leave on the 25th and I am a littel worried, but maybe law of averages is on our side!:D I have no insurance and would hate to lose the airfare.

MIL & DH leave to drive down early morn Wed 9/29. They will head first to MILs winter home in Barefoot Bay. Her home lost the front porch, carport and shed. She says as of now she is still coming to Disney with us. Im waiting to see her reaction after she actually sees her house.
Im not so concerned about Ivan but more on the after effects from Floyd.

DS & I head for the airport Fri 10/1. I just started planning again.
