Anyone watch the Delta prices drop?

If prices are falling, I'd hate to see what they were before they "fell!" I just checked for 2/19-2/26 from Albany to MCO and I got 596.80/person! HOLY FRIGGIN' OUCH!

Ealier today Travelocity had Portland(OR) - Tampa for $99 r/t on Delta. Wish we could take advantage of it but our kids would miss too much school as the fare is only good until mid-Feb.

When I checked on Monday, fares were at 186 r/t. Today, they dropped and we snagged our tickets for 126 from BUF. That's half what I paid for roughly the same time last year!

I just found that too! We just got back like a week ago and I checked DD's school schedule to see if we could go for a long weekend. NOOOOO! :guilty: I have NEVER seen prices like THAT before!

I wanna go back!

Good news is our flight for May went up over $20 per ticket. I know now we won't get any better deal for May :cool1:

A business associate in Hartford was telling me today that she was checking fares from Hartford to Orlando for the last week of January for a conference. $123 on Delta Song!

Whew!! Just checked on Delta. com. Booked our tix on Sunday and I was going to be really mad if they just dropped! Well, our tix increased! We paid $236.40 and now the same flights are $262+. Guess it was a good thing I booked them already.

I wouldn't fly Delta again if it were free. I know every airline has its problems but we had the worse experience with Delta the last two weeks. We flew to Utah and got stuck at the Cincinatti airport for 7 hours while they tried to fix a plane. When that didn't work the flew one from Vegas. There were 3 other Delta flights at that pier that were also running hours behind. On the way home we were stuck again in Cincinatti due to flight crews not showing up. There again was another Delta flight waiting for their crew too. Never again for us will we fly Delta!

Did you get free tickets for next time? I can't imagine that you weren't compensated? Unless you did and it just didn't matter?

No free tickets were offered to anyone. We did get a whopping $7 each for lunch! LOL! To be honest we wouldn't have accepted the free tickets if offered anyway. As I said before I wouldn't fly again with them if it were free. Too much hassle. A 3 hour flight turns into a 10 hour ordeal. Not worth any amount of money to us.

Oh no. We just moved from Usairways to Delta for exactly the same reasons. Unscheduled gate changes, lost luggage, flight cancellations.

What put us over the edge was the Christmas mess in PHL over the holiday. So many baggage handlers were "sick outs" that it was a disaster. The the union rep brushed it off "there are always an increase in sick calls over the holiday" - talk about a bad attitude!!! So what if the passengers were stuck for days.

But...that week is prime time. February School Vacation for us here in Massachusetts (not sure about NY). I bought our tickets LAST March for 2/16-2/25/05 BOS to RSW, and we are paying $249/pp/RT non stop. My cousin just booked hers for similar times, and is paying over $350, with a stop each way, and pushing her departure day back by 2.

Good Luck everyone!

I can't get any dates available from April 30 - May 8 from the Delta website! Expedia, etc. are showing $268 rt from BDL - MCO on Delta.

Going in May on Delta Song from Hartford, CT and got $166/pp for a non-stop round trip through Orbitz...Nothing cheaper so far, but I have the "Fare Alert" in place offered by Orbitz, so I will see what happens...$166 was ALOT better than the $273 agent offered as best rate! :D

To Stampnrobin: We got better rates on Delta non-stop out of BDL by changing our day from a Tuesday to a Monday and we got 7 a.m. flight going and 11:30 a.m. flight home. I was VERY surprised rates were that much cheaper on a Monday vs. a Tuesday!! Good Luck! :D

DebbieB: Where did you find that fare, if you don't mind me asking? I got $166/pp from BDL early May and thought I could do no better! Thanks!

We're boarding the Disney Wonder on Sunday May 1. I can fly in on Saturday anytime or early Sunday morning. Options are limited on the way down!

I travel every week. If I quit flying an airline every time they had delays I would have to quit my job.

NO airline has 100% satisfaction (I have seen SW and JetBlue complaints) If you let the occasional "horror post" scare you, you may just have to drive.

I didn't have to watch for long to get my arm twisted into buying a ticket. ABE-Orlando - $124 round trip in November. Cheapest I have every flown. Now I have to decide on what hotel.

Never could get on Delta's website so we finally got thru on the phone. It was worth the wait though.

:Pinkbounc :cool1: :thewave: Mom called me at work as she just happened to check delta, called me and we now are FLYING in may instead of driving!!!! 4 tickets for 477!!! 119 each!!!!! :flower1: :rockband: :rockband: :flower: :earboy2: oops pretty exciting forgot to say we fly out of abe!!!!

yep, prime, and yes, it is vacation here in NY. Unfortunately, we cannot change our dates as I am a teacher and have a school-age son. Still, it seems rediculous to me...if they can sell tix for $119/rt at other times, why triple or quadruple the price for a given week. I understand supply and demand, but that is just taking advantage...and it stinks.

You're absolutely right. The only thing I can advise is to keep looking EVERY SINGLE DAY. The prices have been slowing creeping downward on Song, so I imagine the same will hold true for Delta. Are you by any chance planning on renting a car anyway? The prices are slightly cheaper flying into Tampa (TPA) and the drive over is not too bad. Especially if you went out Friday night after school, and did an airport hotel your first night.

I feel your pain, my mom was a school teacher, and they had to play this game EVERY year flying out of Boston.

Good Luck!
