Is Marlena really dead? Is Deirdre Hall leaving the show? How can this be??

My DD read in one of the soap magazine's that she had quit the show. Said she couldn't understand how they could explain the other character's forgiving her without treating the audience like they are stupid. Said if it was a real life situation and it was her family she'd never forgive the person so she just could not continue to play Marlena. But IMHO she won't be dead and she'll be back. Susan

I keep hoping that it's not Marlena that just died - that maybe it's that other person who looks just like Marlena (and is also played by Hall) and she's been pretending to be Marlena all along. I can't recall the other woman's name....

I also read in SOD She was out along with the other stars who played the characters she killed. Making way for "younger" plot lines and the like.
Such a waste of solid, interesting, and historically comforting characters to a storyline that was horrible and a re-tread to boot. I've watched it off and on since the early '70s and when they killed Alice--that was THE last straw.
I bet old Dr. Horton would like to come back and do a little surgery on the writers about now. Can't help but think viewship is falling fast. I know I won't be watching anymore

I couldn't have said it better myself. I think this whole storyline stinks and even though I was never an avid or continuous watcher...I laugh when I see it on tv!

It explains that there's supposed to be a major twist this month (but doesn't explain what the twist is, but there are theories). From what I've read on this site, it sounds like a few of the major characters that we all loved so much will be back (I hope!!).

I was an avid watcher for many years and then kind of just lost interest. When the current story line was heating up, I couldn't resist the temptation and started tuning in again. The show has changed so much.

I can't believe they killed off all of the characters they did and let it go on for months and month. Then when the big serial killer was revealed, it was such a let down, because we all knew it was Marlena by the time it was shown.

I also have not turned in since Alice was killed off. The only saving grace in all of the killings was that they (the writers) gave Alice some dignity in killing her off and didn't allow Marlena to kill her in a very graphic way -- as they did with some of the others.

Will I turn in again? Hard to say, the storyline would have to take a dramatic turn to catch my attention.

I've stopped watching it. I have TIVO so I would only watch the story lines that interested me. Finally I realized I was skipping the whole show. I could care less now and I doubt there's anything they can do to bring me back as a viewer.

From what I heard Marlena WILL be back!
There is suppose to be a major twist coming in the next few weeks.

I know the show really has gotten crazy, but man, I guess it is like a drug to me....I can't stop watching it

She had one of her own doughnuts shoved down her throat and choked on it. This is dignified?

I understand what you meant though. There is nothing redeeming in this writer and I am waiting to see how they are going to bring back everyone near the end of the month. I've read the more popular theories but am waiting to see how it plays out.

Now if they could just lose all the teen/young adult storylines.....

I really hope that's not true. Some of the teens are really annoying, especially Belle and Jan.

May is when the big twist is revealed and I also read that possibly some of the characters are still alive. And when this big twist happens, that it will just be the beginning, not the end to this storyline.

Oh this story line is driving me nuts. I really hate when they get rid of so many "older" actors. The younger ones can't act to save their lives. But I have to admit I like nothing better than a story line out of the blue, a good old fashioned shocker.

If tv guide is correct, next Friday (May 21st), the big twist is revealed. I know what they are doing, but for the life of me, don't know how they are pulling it off!! All I can say is that after the year they put us through, this better be worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh noooooooooooooo not next Friday, DH has a neurology appointment about 45 mins away. I'm gonna miss it. Wahhhhhhhhh.

If anyone has soap net, you can watch yesterday's show at 10:00 am the next day, that day's show at 7 pm that night OR spend all Sunday evening, from 7 pm to midnight watching a week's worth!

I read that it might not be until the week of the 24th, because of the day that Days and Passions weren't on for the special news report.
