We all want to get the vaccine but especially need it for my daughter who has had a heart transplant. When the health department gets in vaccine the lines are incredible! Some people are sleeping overnight to be first in line. We went to a clinic last Saturday and the lines were hours long so we turned around and went back home and later learned many, many people were turned away because they ran out. Hope we can get it soon! Meanwhile we're having my daughter avoid crowds, etc.

Yes - myself, my DD and her family are waiting - and waiting - and waiting.. There has been some areas that have limited supplies of the mist, but none that have had the shot (which is what we need)..

That old saying applies: "Hurry up and wait"..

Hope you can find it soon! :goodvibes

The front desk at my pediatrician's office told me that they had no vaccine for two weeks. Finally I asked to speak to the doctor myself after reading my state health department's web site that said almost every pediatrician in my area had received a small supply. When the doctor called me back, he said that yes, they did have vaccine - but they weren't telling patients that because they were doing in-house prioritizing. My son, who has asthma, was supposed to be on the priority list, but fell thru the cracks. The doctor gave him a shot the next day, but if I hadn't gotten past the 'gatekeepers' at the front desk my son would still be awaiting his shot. Keep calling - there's a chance that someone in your area has it.

We got the mist in almost a month ago, and we still have a small supply of that. As for the shots.....nope....every delivery date we get ends up being canceled. This is for the clinic I work at and my son and I are patients of.

I do some side work for another private office, and they ordered 6 weeks ago, and no delivery at all yet.

I am not eligible for the mist due to asthma. Very mild, but I did end up w/ bronchitis after a terrible cold in June and required breathing treatments and steroids for the first time in a long time. So, getting the mist was a no-go.

My son, if he stays healthy between now and Friday morning...and if our supply holds out until Friday morning--- will be getting the mist then. He had the seasonal flu mist...so we are in the 28 day holding pattern before getting another mist.

Then I just have the 2 week wait on him, and once I get it-- I'll feel better. My dh works from home so his exposure comes from us for the most part.

One of my children got the H1N1 Flu Mist today. Yesterday the doctor's office sent an email saying they had 50 doses available to give out today. I called about two minutes after the email was sent & the line was busy for a few minutes. I finally got through & got an appt. A half hour after the first email, they sent another saying they booked all 50 doses & would email when they get more. I have two other children that I would like to get it. I can't find any H1N1 Flu Shots for DH or myself.

Yes, but none available here yet. :sad2:

I think that is why our health department has now gone to "appointments only" version of giving out the vaccine.

I know they had 3 clinics & 2 more were scheduled but those were cancelled. Now you have to be in the one of the primary groups.

Good Luck. I think unless they go to this type of thing, you are always going to have any general clinic run out instantly it seems.

The ped expects the shot in the end of this week, beginning of next. When I took the kids last week for their seasonal shot they did have the H1N1 mist, but we can't get it. I'm really hoping it comes in soon, there has been one kid in my ds's class out with the flu. So far the school hasn't seen alot of cases, but now its just a matter of time.

We were at the pediatrician yesterday for an annual exam and he said that they don't have the H1H1 vax and that they have no idea if/when they'll be getting it.

I was discussing my children's need for the shot (due to asthma) last week. Another mom overheard me and said she had just booked shots with the local Health Dept. The fact that the health dept. would have the shots was never disseminated from our peds. office so it was very helpful that the other mom volunteered that info!

My kids will be getting their shots this evening. When I called to make the appointment, the receptionist said they are giving the shots out on a priority basis... children with asthma are one of the highest priorities due to the increased rate of death among children with asthma from H1N1.

Around here, the flu mist is fairly available, but it's contraindicated for folks with asthma and other respiratory issues. So, the folks who need it most are having the most difficulty getting the vaccine.

another one here waiting for my 20 month old. I've been calling for weeks with no success - now he's been put on a "list" but who knows how long it will be.

I just had to inform my staff that our seasonal flu shot clinic is postponed due to lack of vaccine. I made a huge effort to get people to sign up for the flu shot this year and now the clinic has been postponed and I will not be surprised if it is eventually cancelled. I'm really disappointed. My employer provides services to people living with AIDS and cancer and I wanted the staff to be vaccinated since we work so closely with people who have severely compromised immune systems.

Many clinics were scheduled to be through the schools here in our county and then they were cancelled. There have been a few county clinics but they so far have only been for health care workers and infants, not even the high risk category that 2 of my kids are in.
It is very frustrating to see the Ohio government commercials still running on tv encouraging people to get their H1N1 vaccines. Great use of tax payer money when people are being turned away before the clinics are even officially opened the lines are so long....
