:sunny: Hi

Have just started a trial of the night and day contact lens - the ones you can sleep in and wear for 30 days. Have worn contact lens for 17 year (OMG  ) but am struggling to wear these. One day they are fine the next one will be scratchy.

Anyone with any tips?

No tips, I'm afraid but I would be interested to hear how you get on with them. I am only on a -1.00 prescription and currently use Daily Disposables. I saw these advertised and thought I would go and try them out, although I was a little worried about the thought of 24/7 contact lens wear!

No Charley

I use Daily Disposables, so I would be interested to here how you go?

I have been wearing these for many years. I find that when allergy season is bad or the humidity in the house is very low I have to put drops in my eyes in the morning.

If you have a real crying jag the protein deposits become terrible. You can clean them like you do regular lenses. I do have to do this sometimes even when I haven't been crying!

I also find that I need to give my eyes a "break" every so often....in other words I go about 72 hours without them every month or so....

Hope this helps.

I love being able to see the alarm clock in the middle of the night...don't you?

I've been wearing night and day lenses for a few years now and absolutely love them. Fortunately I've had very few problems. You're supposed to take them out and clean them every so often but I never do, I must confess, though I wouldn't recommend that!!! :bitelip: . Yes - it's GREAT to be able to see as soon as you open your eyes in the morning or in the night!! :Pinkbounc

I have been using them for about 3 years and have not had any problems since I got the optician to change the manufacturer of my left lens. It too felt scratchy every so often. The optician explained that different manufacturers produced slightly more rounded edges to their lenses so he tried me on a different type and I have been happy ever since. I wear mine for the 30 days without removing them.

I have just started with night and day lenses too! I have had no problems so far and it's great not having to think about lenses at all. I never thought it was that much hassle taking my lenses out each night and putting them back in in the morning, but now that I have these I definitely think they're worth the extra money! I was a bit reluctant at first cos I tried some all day and all night lenses a few years ago and didn't get on with them at all. However my optician persuaded me to give them another chance as there are a few different makes now. Luckily I am having no problems but there are other makes which will have different fits so it's worth asking your optician if you can try another type.

:sunny: Hi

Wanted to give an update. Have had to abandon the trial today. :sad2: Went to see the optician who said I had dry patches on my eyes and that they were rearly inflammed. Can't wear any lenses for 3 days. I am going back to daily disposables. The optician I saw today was a different one who said I shouldn't have tried them in the first place!!!

You just don't know who to believe sometimes

Sorry to hear that Charley :( But you need to take care of your eyes so maybe its for the best.
