anyone thinking of canceling for march 15-18???

well it doesn't hurt to ask...

I need a studio for march 15-18..........I have BCV for the 18th and 19th and SSR for the 16th but I need a room for the 15th and 17th but would like to have 15, 16, 17 all at the same resort if possible. This is a last minute trip for me and DS 7.........but everything is BOOKED SOLID!!! DH said I can only go if I can get the room on pts.....no CASH!!! (meanie). I think he is banking on me not getting a room. I've been calling twice a day and I'm on the waitlist but still nothing. And next friday will be 30 days and my points would go into holding so I guess if I don't get something by then I will have to cancel

Do you think I have a good chance of getting something???

gee only a couple of weeks ago cancel 15-20.

decided wanted 18-21 instead. She definitely asked me twice if I really wanted to cancel. So guess there was a waiting list already for March.

as far as getting something - can't say for sure. with as many members as DVC has - people change their minds or their work changes their vacation time - all the time. so maybe?

Even if someone does cancel, there'd be no way to book those dates using your points unless you're next on the waitlist for them. Sorry.

Actually I don't think that is true....because the first day that I called there was nothing available.......then I called the next morning and the 15th, 18 and 19th were available at BCV ....well I could kick myself now but I only booked the 18th and 19th. Then the next morning I called back and the 16th was available at SSR so I booked that. So I've been calling back since then and nothing else yet.....I think it must have to do with when a cancellation is made and how soon you call after that........I don't know when they fulfill the waitlist requests but it doesn't seem to be immediately when rooms are cancelled.

I have seen many other posts on these boards that suggests this also.

I've been wait listed for that part of the week since the 7-month window

Getting married at Seabreeze Point the 16th and was hoping to be close to it at BWV.

OH SORRY...........I just couldn't contain myself!!! I called at 8:00 this morning and got the 2 nights I needed at SSR and then we'll do the other 2 at BCV................WOOOOHOOOOOO

No, but what does happen is that they don't "hold" those days that the OP got to fill your days. So you needed OP's night of the 17th and it was open, but your 16 wasn't so they gave it to her. Hope that makes sense.

That's one reason before the "new" policy people often waitlisted day by day as opposed to "blocks" I never did it because I am not that fond of moving LOL!

I hear ya. I want all or nothing because it is just a short, last minute trip I booked. I don't want to be getting up, packin and moving. I have a back up plan so if it doesn't come thru no problem.

I didn't want to move much either but I took that night of the 16th on a whim and hoped that the 15th and 17th would open up and it paid off! I was prepared to cancel the whole trip next Friday (30 day window)....if I didn't get the other days.....I am still on the waitlist however for those 3 nights at BCV to go with the 2 I have for the 18th and 19th.....it is a last minute trip for us too and it is just me and ds 7 so it won't take much for us to move to the BCV.........i've always wanted to stay there so I don't mind moving over there for 2 nights...........but I didn't want to move EVERY night.
