We are flying to WDW this Saturday and still no ME luggage tags. I gave MS our flight information as soon as we made the reservations in March. Since then I have called ME twice about our tags and to make sure our flight number/info is somewhere in Disney. They would not check to see if my information was there since I went through member services. I just called the ME number a few minutes ago. The conversation went something like this:

Karen: We fly out Saturday and have no luggage tags yet.

ME: oh-that's not good. What is you reservation number?

Karen:It is through DVC.......

ME: (interupting me a I speak) Oh, you will be fine. Go here, turn there, look for this, blah, blah, blah

Karen: So you are telling me someone will find our luggage without tags and we will be able to get on a bus and get to WDW.

ME: Yes, no problem, good bye.

I know for a fact that DVC has the flight information since I called in May (?) with a flight change, but I still feel a bit concerned about getting on a bus and our luggage getting to our room with no documentation.

Has anyone else gone without any ME information delivered to their home??

Thanks,
Karen

yes - it look them a LONG While

put something on your luggage to make it stand out - then take a picture of it - then when you are checkin for the ME part give him/her the picture.

they can id your luggage pretty easily.

mind was still left - Disney is using an out side company to do this and sometimes they leave luggage. So don't expect it for around 4 hours once you get there. If you need anything before then take it with you!!!

I got there at 10:00am my luggage finally arrived that night at 8:30pm - they had to send the truck back twice before he finally found it.

You will get it. Oh this one is funny - some of the airlines are now blaming Disney when the luggage is lost. they say they deliver it when it wasn't even in Orlando..... this is causing a big problem for disney - they kept sending the guy back to pick up luggage that is not there yet.

you would think that the airlines would learn to not try and push their responsiblities off on someone else!!!

If you are worried about lost luggage, go pick it up and take it to the bus. They will load it and deliver you and the luggage at the same time.

We never did get our tags either.

Relax and enjoy, you will have a good tirp.

Ditto what BillPa said - I just went and retrieved my bags from baggage claim, took them with me to the ME bus. The representative standing there from ME told me to do this (since I didn't have tags) to be assured that I got them.

We didn't receive tags and had no problems. We didn't go get our luggage either. I simply identified the type of luggage and how many of each and the luggage claim tickets.

When we got to the resort we checked in to our rooms, unpacked some of the carry-ons, changed, looked around the resort a little, came back to the rooms and our luggage showed up. All of it with no problems at all.

During that point in time there were many people who didn't have tags and I read more threads about how suprised they were that there weren't more problems. If you don't want to worry about waiting for the luggage, you can go pick it up... otherwise just tell them when you check in that you didn't get tags and they can still find it.

This is what we are going to do also, we just gave DVC our flight information last week for our upcoming trip next week. MS just told us to just pick up our bags and go to the bus and they will to the rest.

When we went in May ME had only been in effect for a couple of weeks. We called and signed up at last minute so there was no time to get tags. I was sure our luggage would be lost. DH had more confidence in the system. We described our luggage at the ME counter area and also I slipped home made tags saying SARATOGA SPRINGS RESORT and our name in large red letters on each piece of our luggage. I'm not sure what time luggage arrived, as we headed straight for MK, but it was there when we returned.

the problem with you waiting for your luggage - it can be late....Orlando has improved their luggage delivery system. but they still have problems.

once when I flew SW - Orlando deliver it to the wrong place. :rotfl2:

took them 3 hours to find it and deliver it to us!!! SW was not responsbile so we got NOTHING our wait.

So I was happy with ME - dispite it arriving late. I got to enjoy the time in my very, very pleasant room instead of waiting in the aiport of the luggage to arrive.

If you do not have the tags in advance, PICK UP YOUR LUGGAGE AND TAKE IT WITH YOU ON THE BUS!!!! We did not do this for our trip last week, after assurances from ME that they could find the bags with our claim tickets. We got into MCO at 5:00 p.m. and did not receive our luggage in our room until 7:30 a.m. the next morning.

I would like to take the advice of picking up our own luggage. At what point do I retrieve the luggage, before or after checking in at the DME desk? Are you sure they don't mind if we show up with luggage in hand, is this a hassle for the driver?

I would pick up your luggage before checking into the ME desk. That way, if the right bus is there, you will be all ready to go. Also, the drivers do not mind handling your luggage for you. However, I'm sure that an appropriate tip would be appreciated!!
