Moderators - if this thread should be in DVC Planning - I apologize and please move.

I am curious if anyone has received their referral bonus (after receiving their certificate) for referring someone since the SSR Promo started.

You can reply or PM me.

I had called my guide before Christmas and was told I should receive a certificate a few weeks after new member closes (my brother closed Nov. 30th) and I have not received any certificate or thank you letter from his guide. I was also told that the person handling referral was due back Jan. 9th. I wanted to call my guide again - but before I do - has anyone received their referral bonus? My brother bought immediately after the promo started. If they tell me it takes 3 monhts or 6 months - I have no problem - but I was told a few weeks after closing and it is now two months - any thoughts - I won't call yet if no one else has received theirs?

Thank you in advance.

Our son purchased in early Nov. We received our certificate on Dec.16th and our referral bonus last Tues. We chose Disney dollars as we are leaving next Sat. Good luck getting yours!

I should be getting one also from late November purchase but haven't yet.

What's up??

Are you sure the people you referred had not contacted DVC in anyway previously? If they took the tour or requested the DVC info. pack they have already been established in the DVC system and would not be considered "new" clients. If that's the case...you may still get a small compensation like a giftcard to DisneyShopping.com but no $$$.

This is info. I read on a thread that is a couple months old.

I recieved my certificate ealry December and My Disney dollars last week.

My referral purchased in November.

My brother had taken the tour in March (Easter break - I also happened to be in WDW at the time) - and I was also the referring member at the time. They were told at the time that I would receive something (I think he said a dinner) just for taking the tour and referring them. I told him, we shall see. I never received anything and did not question it. They did not buy at this time.

They just bought now with the SSR Promo - after I stopped them from almost buying resale. Again, my guide told me I was entitled to it. I am just curious if there is a hold-up somewhere - if it takes months (even though I was told a few weeks after closing I would receive the certificate asking me how I wanted the "bonus". I will call later this week and inquire.

Ya know, what really stinks is living in a state where DVC can't give the referral bonus. :sad2: I have referred around 10 people in the past few months and I have all the letters thanking me, but that's it... Oh, I did get 3 of those $50 disneyshopping.com coupons, which were great for Xmas shopping!

I figure as long as I'm are sharing the secret and helping folks save money, that's what really counts! Who needs all that bonus money anyway? :confused3 (maybe I'll get a nice basket for my first trip home in March!) :rolleyes2

I would refer anyone regardless if I received a bonus - sometimes when the family gets together - my sister-in-law and I have to remined ourselves that not everyone is as interested or excited as us about Disney. My dh LOVES to wear his DVC baseball cap every chance he gets (especially golf). He is a proud owner and loves to answer questions when asked. I don't want anything that was not offered and I don't want to seem greedy - just curious.

You're NOT greedy -- if they say you are going to get something, then you should get it. I have heard that some states aren't eligible, but I don't know which ones they are or even if I'm in that group of states. (Anyone know where to find that info?) I, too, have given my name "for free" since I have no clue whether or not I'll get something. Either way, 15% off is a HUGE deal, and I hope many people take advantage of it! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

When speaking to a DVC planner today she told me to find someone from NY or NJ to be my sponsor so they would be able to receive the referral $$$.

Listen ScubaGuy, if you decide to refer anyone else feel free to use my info -I'll split anything I get with you! Sorry to hear you got shut out, maybe you should have set up a PO Box in a nearby state during the promo -you lost out on a nice chunk of change.

Hi again. I had PMed you earlier in the day with our information as a referall........and we are from New Jersey........ :cool1: Bob & Debbie.

The info I have from the one referral incentive I have gotten is as follows: these states are eligible for the program: Alabama, Arizona ($600.00 max), Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois($1000.00 max), Iowa, Kansas, New HAmpshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Ohio ($1000.00 max), Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. You get to choose the amount as Disney Dollars, Credit towards Additional purchase of DVC, credit towards annual dues and donate it. You may also have to report the amount on your taxes, depending on the reward and if you have received other rewards in a year. Hope this helps.

Jean, you are the best. Thanks so much for the info! You are so sweet.

The paperwork doesn't say. It says Puerto Rico is an eligible jurisdiction but that's all I see. Try calling your guide and asking, just so you know.

We referred some friends and they purchased last November and all we
have received is a note confirming this. We have been told because we live in England we cannot have the money nor have it deducted from our annual fees.Disney state this is because of our UK Government which is untrue as I have checked this out with our member of parliament.

Would not now refer anyone to Disney as feel in this instance they have not been honest with us and this is not like the Disney Vacation Club we know. :rotfl2:
