I'm more of a forum observer than a poster, but I came across this last night, and figured it may be beneficial for me to participate over here. Allow me to introduce myself; my name is Melissa and I am a lover of Disney, food, and well. . .Disney food.

As a Florida Resident (and Annual Passholder) I frequented the World, and after participating in a magical moment as a "honorary Great Movie Ride hostess," I knew I wanted to be at WDW Cast Member.
Upon completion of High School in 2004, I moved from Fort Lauderdale to Orlando in order to begin my degree in Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida. As a freshman, things were great; at 5 foot 1 and 112 pounds, I was at the ideal "healthy" weight; I felt fit, energetic, etc. Within a few months of being in Orlando, I started working at Walt Disney World, and truly just couldn't be happier.
Soon, all of my friends were Cast Members, and together we truly took advantage of our Dining Discounts. we'd eat at places like Boma, O'hanas, Chef Mickey's, Liberty Tree, SciFi, and Le Cellier on a regular basis. . .and trust me, it all tasted fantastic! My friends and their speedy metabolisms barely gained anything, but now, in my last semester of college, I find myself weighing in at about 180-190 pounds.
Things were getting out of hand, I attempted a Weight Watchers at work program, where I attended backstage at Animal Kingdom. . .but counting calories, points, etc. just didn't feel convenient enough for me. . .plus it was awkward for me to discuss my weight with my peers. So now, as of this past Thursday(3/13) I am on Jenny Craig. So far, I feel great! The meals are pretty tasty, not to mention convenient! I won't know until Thursday when I am officially weighed in, but on my personal scale, I've lost 4.8 lbs already (which I'm sure is just water weight, but still, a step in the right direction!)
I foresee a lot of temptations, with the parks being my personal stomping ground. I am surrounded by Mickey ice cream bars, popcorn, and turkey legs on a daily basis.
You all seem to be doing great so far, it's definitely an inspiration!
