Anyone make iced coffee at resorts?

Using the refillable mug, not a specialty order. We are staying at POP and I prefer my coffee to be iced and sweetened with chocolate syrup. I assume there is no syrup but does anyone make coffee with ice? Or is there a cold option? I might just buy some Starbucks via packets but though I'd check before spending money

My mom- redwitch here on the boards- did it regularly at All-Stars. Just put the coffee over ice, and added cream. There is no iced option, but it seemed to work well enough.

There is no chocolate syrup, but there is hot chocolate (it's instant stuff, but it's not as bad as some of it is- comes out of a machine). I've made mixed coffee/hot chocolate drinks before: I don't see why you couldn't do it over ice!

My Sister Did this and put coffee and hot chocolate In his mug filled with ice

Iced sweet mocha coffee

Using the hot chocolate is brilliant! I am sure it will be good enough thank you

My husband would fill up his mug with coffee on the way back from the parks or in the evening. Then put the mug in the hotel fridge. That way the coffee was cold in the morning.

Fill with ice, then fill half way with hot cocoa, then the rest with coffee. Add a vanilla creamer and there you go. DH was in love with this concoction when I made it for him - he loves the iced coffee in the parks/resorts, but at $5 for a tiny cup.. nope.

Love this idea. I do this at home if we have coffee left in the pot but i didn't think of doing it WDW. We're staying at ASMu and I've been wondering how we'd get our morning coffee fix with no coffee maker in the room.

All of the above suggestions are great re iced coffee. But if you decide you do want hot coffee in your room in the morning, get the Starbucks instant VIA. This is what I use when I stay at the POP and the water out of the tap gets hot enough to make instant coffee. I add milk anyway so it doesn't have to be steaming hot. Just a thought if you want regular coffee as a morning backup.

When we stayed at POP we would fill our mugs with coffee right before bed and place in room fridge. A few weeks before our trip I saved my plastic cups and lids from my ice coffee from dunkin donuts. Washed them and threw in a Baggie for the trip. In the morning I would take the dunkin donut cup to the ice machine and fill half with ice and then back in the room pour the coffee in. Great to take to the park in the morning and then I could just throw away the cup when finished.

I love that there are other iced coffee fans..nobody in my family likes it except me! The Starbucks iced coffee packets are good too, just add to a bottle of water but I'd rather not as they would be a bit costly. I love the vanilla creamer hot cocoa coffee combo!

Yes! Iced coffee is great, I just fill my cup halfway with coffee then add sugar and cream (just like I was making hot coffee) and fill the rest of the way with ice!

We bought the little concentrated flavored creamer to bring along. So with the idea of the to go cups, I think I'll be having some iced coffee also :)

O. The combo isn't working for me. Lol. The hot cocoa mightbe too watered down, it mostly tastes like coffee. One more long day I might have to deal with it!

If you like milk or cream, try adding chocolate milk.

This got me to thinking that it would be easy to make cold brew coffee at the resorts. We have been making it at home lately. We use a glass french press, because it's easier to separate the grounds. You would need a plastic or metal one for this. Leave it in the fridge once brewed. Since it's concentrated, you can just add milk, water, or chocolate milk to dilute it.

I always pack my coffee press to make cold brew in our room. It is so good!

This topic brings along a question from me. Does anyone know why there is essentially no such thing as cold brew at Disney World? We always try to ask for Ice Coffee but they always end up giving us that super sweet "Mocha" or "French Vanilla" stuff that is so diluted with milk and sugar its white. I don't mind going to the Starbucks to get a real ice coffee but just wondered why it seems like Disney doesn't just have the room temperature cold brew that they pour over ice like everyone else especially since it's Florida which is hot almost all year round!

I also used this method last July. I took along a package of the tiny French Vanilla creamers from home and carried two with me to the food court.

I'm glad this is working out for some. Regular coffee over ice is too watery and weak for me. It takes a stronger coffee to make good iced coffee.
Maybe it's because I drink mine black and unsweetened so it doesn't work without the full coffee flavor.

It's because of the decades long contract some idiot signed with Nescafe for coffee served in the parks and at the hotels. Thankfully, that finally expired and we are seeing more choices. But cold brew requires cross-shift care and dedicated equipment. It kind of violates that tenant to break everything down and clean everything 100% at the close of business each day. Much easier to simply do cold drinks as poured over iced.

I agree. And I drink my coffee strong to begin with, so it takes Starbucks to make a cold drink that I respect. But you and I are overrun by the Dunkin Donuts fans!
