Anyone know how long it takes to drive from Little Rock to Atlanta?

Does anyone know how long it takes to drive from Little Rock to Atlanta and what would be the fastest route?

Do you drive across Tennessee or go through Alabama?

Don't know but I use www.mapquest.com for road trips.

If I were to drive it I would go I-40 to Memphis (3hours) then I-40 to Nashville (3hours) then I-24 to Chattanooga ( 2hours). Then take I-75 south to Atlanta (2 hours).
The other way would have you driving from Memphis to Birmingham on Highway 78 (5hours),then I-20 from Birmingham to Atlanta (2 hours) . The time would be roughly the same, depending on if you avoid rush hour in each city.
I've driven both routes and prefer the interstate all the way. Most of 78 is 4 lanes.
To me the worst part of the drive is between Little Rock and Memphis, lots of big trucks and road construction always.

I thought that going on 78 in Alabama looked like it would be fewer miles but I did wonder about the condition of the roads and if that would cost us more time vs. interstate.

We've made that drive lots of times. It usually takes us about 8.5 hours, but we don't stop much. It's not bad at all.
