Anyone just off the Fantasy?

I have a few character-specific questions:

1. Do you know who the princesses were at the princess gathering?

2. Does Olaf meet with Anna and Elsa? Why would I think that?

3. Do you know the various costumes Minnie wears? Does she wear the Jasmine costume on formal night? Is that the night the Aladdin show is on?

4. Did you attempt to do character pics on Castaway Cay? Was it easy for you to find them in your photo package?

Thanks!!!

We were on July 9th Fantasy sailing. Didn't do Princess M&G so I can't comment on that, but we did do the Frozen one and no, Olaf was not with Elsa and Anna. Sorry - that's the only one I can answer with 100% certainty!

Ugh. Really? We signed up just for Olaf. There is absolutely nothing for boys on dcl. Except marvel- which isn't disney and doesn't interest my kids at all.

I'm not "just off the Fantasy" but I can tell you that Olaf is included in the Frozen M&G on the Wonder. That's probably why you "think that."
Also Minnie usually wears the Jasmine costume in Prelude before or after "Aladdin", which is on formal night. I've also seen her wear the formal peacock dress that same night in the atrium.

Really? From the time I was able to understand what Disney even was, I was all about Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. Beautiful princesses who were waiting on a Prince Charming? Sign me up for the True Love's Kiss!

Pirates, Star Wars, Sports Deck, Aladdin, Toy Story... I have girls and I agree the princess thing is over done, but it seems like there is plenty for boys to be excited about too AND lots of gender neutral stuff that is just fun.

I wish Olaf was going to be there too though

Not saying boys are suffering! But meet and greet is all about girls. The one time we saw jack sparrow he was mobbed (not ticketed anyway). He should be out more. We did see smee and hook once which was very cool (but once. We are gold). Never seen toy story characters (haven't done dcl alaska), and only saw Aladdin in the show. Just tried to buy pajamas at the disney store and for boys it is all marvel and star wars. I know everyone loves star wars but it isn't disney and it does not appeal to my kids anyway. Tried to show them the " first" movie and they walked off-- yet it is all the young boy stuff disney markets. Very frustrating that disney markets generally pg-13 movies to 6 year olds. They had Stitch pjs at the store but for girls! They love cars, toy story, lilo and stitch, peter pan etc. Never or almost never see these characters. But always pricesses. My kids love mickey, etc, but those characters do not have tickets and my kids won't wait in long lines. There is no way they will come within ten feet of a princess. If Sophia comes on the tv they start screaming turn it off like it's toxic. After sophia turned up first at the character breakfast they made us leave. Why can't they just do mickey and friends at that breakfast!?

As far as the Character pics on Castaway Cay, ours never showed up. That's the only place we did character pics, so it was pretty unfortunate. The Digital Shutters is pretty neat, but way busy on the last day. Supposedly you can search for pics by event, etc, but it didn't work for us either.

Thanks for all the info! thankfully my 5yo girl is in love with characters. And I love all the dress changes Minnie has. I agree it would be nice to have more of a variety on the ships, but I have no idea how difficult it would be to staff that. Maybe it would be easy, maybe it wouldn't be.

Thanks for the tip on Castaway Cay. I'll be sure to go through mine when we get back on the ship. Off to pack! Leaving in about two weeks!

Olaf was there when we did the M&G on the Magic, but we didn't do it on the Fantasy. That was last Oct. That is unfortunate that he isn't with them on the Fantasy as that was my kids' favorite part.

Toy story characters are out early mornings at least once, maybe twice on both fantasy and dream.

Several cars activities in the clubs.

Peter Pan has several meet & greet opportunities. Usually on Pirate Night. Hook and Smee are also out that night.

Jake comes out early morning too.

FWIW, I get frustrated that they really pigeonhole all of their characters except the Fab 5. DD loves Miles and everything else you just mentioned, so it's not just "for boys". However, all the Miles gear is clearly targeted to boys. Why no love for Loretta? Or some girl cut shirts with miles? I don't mind shopping in the boy department but they tend to be too boxy for her frame.

When you get on board, I'd suggest looking at the app and looking at meet & greets by character to make sure you get to see the ones you want.

We've never had problems with our character photos from CC being loaded on to our account. They scan stateroom keys just like on board. We did have to search for our beach photos though.

I was on the fantasy July 16-23.
Princesses were Cinderella, Tiana, Ariel and Belle.
No Olaf, just Anna and Elsa
Minnie met in quite a few outfits... cruisewear, pirate, beach and yes the Jasmine costume on formal night!
We did not do any meets on CC as we had lousy weather... lightning pretty much closed all the beaches from noon on.

My DD5 was determined to meet all the characters and was pretty successful... she met Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale, Pluto, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, the four princesses and Anna and Elsa, Stitch, Jessie, Woody, Doc, Sofia, Jake, Tinkerbelle, Peter Pan. The lines look long but move fast and I love that if you are there within the first 15 min of the character time you will get to meet them. The only characters we missed were Hook and Smee and Captain Jack who she was afraid of!

I just got off Fantasy yesterday and it was a the same as Madzac just shared. We did not look got characters on Castaway Cay either... just beach fun almost all day.

I saw a TR where Anna/Elsa were in Animators Palette and it was super dark (read: sucky lighting for pictures). Is that where yours was? Just curious. They should have a straight Olaf and Sven M&G. That would be great, lol.

Yes animators palate. And no the lighting was not very good.

Madzac: did you get the photo package? Was the quality from the Shutters photographers better than with your camera? Thanks for all the help!!!

We did not. The photo quality was excellent from shutters but my pictures were just as good. The Anna/Elsa one was darker and not as good but the others were just fine. I bought two shutters pictures from formal night of the family but that's all.
