Well, we are exactly 20 days away from being at the CR and this is our first stay there. We are starting to get excited and was wondering how the atmosphere is, being Christmas and all. Any current reports would be great. Pictures would be a bonus.

Thanks,

My family and I were just there this past August and we always enjoyed staying there. Now that the new store on the 4th floor has been completed there is no more renovations happening up there and the lobby renovation should be completed very soon.

I leave this friday for a stay at CR, I will post pics when I get back and if I get time while we are there!

I am so excited!:cool1:

We leave on Thursday the 29th:banana: checkout on the 8th....can't believe it's here. Packing for 6 people....3 are packed...3 more to go...and I feel the panic mode starting....what did I forget????? Breatheeeeeee....lol...

Have a great trip everyone!

We stopped off at CR during our Thanksgiving trip for a drink at Outer Rim. The Concourse seems all finished (hate the new design, though :sad2: ), but the lobby downstairs is a mess.

The cranes outside aren't the most picturesque things ever, either, but they don't seem to be blocking the view of any rooms!

Thank You so much for the sponses. I can't wait to get there. We paid for a MK view in the Tower, as well as bought a new camera. Have I said I can't wait.

Thanks and hopefully someone will have some pictures.

Everytime I've been to the Contemporary and walk around the Concourse I always feel oddly cramped. Like I should be in a large open space but I'm not.

I had forgotten that up until I was there recently in September and the construction was going on.

I'm staying there in January and am looking forward to it, but it's just the weirdest feeling I get when I'm there. Perhaps I'm expecting it to be like a train station with large open areas - I don't know. It feels almost like a market/bazaar in a third world country where you're hustling through various alleys and merchants to me. I think the shops/food places are what does it.

Perhaps I'm the only one - just an odd feeling I get there.

We just came back from the CR in Sept. and were in the tower MK view also. NONE of the outside construction is a factor at all and the view is incredible!
Heres a view from the balcony Zoomed up of course:

We're at The Contemporary right now. In fact, I'm typing on one of the computers that they have in each room.

We just got here today, and the only Christmas-y thing I noticed was a tree out front. There may be more, but if so, it didn't really stand out. I'm fine with that, because I really didn't come down here for a "holiday-themed" trip, but it might bother others.

Otherwise, the only construction I noticed were the cranes outside, which don't impair the view, and the lobby on the first floor. Although, if I hadn't known that there was construction going on, I wouldn't have realized it. I would have just thought it was a small lobby.

Overall, it's great. Really convenient and rooms are spacious and look great. Not a lot of atmosphere though. It just seems like a "W" hotel plunked down at DisneyWorld with a Monorail running through it.

Staychel,

I hope you are having a great time. I am getting so excited it's crazy. We have paid for the MK view in the Tower and so this is going to be great. Any information on the hotel would be great!

Have fun.
