Anyone in December getting FP+ and MB

at the end of december pretty much every morning at MK is EMH. So no real choices to make there.

With a room-only ressie, are magic bands available for AP only or available for all onsite guests at participating resorts?

I'm doing EMH on Monday night Dec 2nd, (Magic Kingdom)

Is this a bad idea? I heard they were less busy during EMH?

May have to switch some plans around if it's going to be busy.

I never got an email that I was selected for FP+, I just noticed it had been added to MDE one night and started making my selections. So for those that have asked, just keep checking your MDE as the chances of you getting an email about it are slim. (I didn't even get one about the magic bands, had I not been looking I would have never even known I was getting them)

Has anyone been able to make FastPass+ reservations for the Main Street Electrical Parade on any day in December?

It will be busy. Monday is always a busy day for MK and with Thanksgiving being later this year, more visitors are likely to extend their vacations by a day or two. Sunday and Tuesday are both MVMCP nights (there are four parties total that week) and that leaves only a few full days of operating hours for MK. The evening EMH will also be appealing for many. You can make it work, but it will definitely be busy.

MagicBands are available for all onsite guests. As long as you have a room reservation you get a MB. :)

We are planning to do MK at night on Dec 2nd, too. It is supposed to be crowded but with an arrival on Nov 30th, MK closed at night on Dec 1st and 3rd, that leaves us only two choices to see Wishes. We managed to get BOG reservations for dinner on Dec 2nd, too. I decided to make fp+ reservations for that night and just endure the crowds. :) I'm hoping they open fp+ for Wishes that night, which will help. :) But we'll spend the day in some other park, yet to be determined. We always get park hoppers.

I have a friend arriving in November who didn't get an email invite for fast pass or magic bands but saw the options on her MDE so she did it. A couple days ago her magic bands arrived at her house. She got an email that day telling her about the test of magic band and fast passes and told her she had to have it all done by October 22. Which was the day before the email was sent. (She got the email October 23rd the day her actual magic bands arrived. ) so I would just keep checking to see if its available for you daily because it looks that the email to invite you comes a little late.

Happy planning everyone.

This may have been asked and answered already ~ How do you know if you have access to FP+? We have an upcoming trip for the first week of December staying at All Star Sports. Do you receive an email?

Some people are getting emails and some not. If you are staying on property and have valid tickets attached to your MDE account then you should be eligible for FP+. Just sign into your MDE account and choose "My Itinerary" and you should be able to book FP+. Your account will need to have (or be linked) to all members in your party and they will need park tickets linked to their names.

We never got an email but I was able to schedule ours at 60 days out.

We arrive 12-27, and just a few minutes ago I was able to access the FastPicks via the mobile app and make FP+ "selections". I use the term selections loosely because I can't BELIEVE the limited availability - for instance, it is telling me the absolute only ride available at 10 am on Saturday 12-28 is the Jungle Cruise. Really??!!

I wonder if my being able to access this right now isn't a glitch of sorts. I can't get it to work on the desktop, only the mobile app, and the only park I am given options for is MK.

When I try and go in on the desktop, it lists the parks but then tells me none of them are available for me to select from, something about only select tickets being available for this options.

All highly annoying.

We had the same thing happen before our 60 day mark and I just used FastPicks to book the days I could until everything opened up at 60 days.

I used the App on my phone to do FastPicks (some days it gave me the park I wanted and some days not) - which gave me three crappy rides and times. I then moved to my computer and was able to change every ride and every time to the things I wanted.

The only 2 parks the app kept giving me was MK and Epcot but we are there for 10 days so I was able to book a couple of the days and get them out of the way before our 60 day window opened. I think this is a glitch in the system but it worked for us.

If the rumours are correct, by the time we all arrive in December we may be locked out of using regular FP if we are part of the FP+ test. i.e. Disney may not issue us with KTTW cards at check-in and other loophopes are being closed.

if this is the case will people stick with FP+ or try to opt out of the test and just revert to good old legacy fast pass?

I don't believe the rumors for a second. There hasn't been any confirmation from Disney that they are even considering this move. Even the terms and conditions don't state that they are making guests choose between fp+ and fp-. In fact, there has been confirmation from CM's that KTTW cards will still be issued and we will still be able to get the legacy fast passes.

I will be one asking for KTTW card. I will definitely explain to them that I am paying extra for park hoppers and want ability to pull fp in my parks I hop to. Surely they will understand my position.

I have called IT the last two nights asking questions, surprisingly hearing basically the same things in regards to FP and Kttw and MB. I posted in another thread, so hope no one minds, but I'm just going to copy/paste to here what was said.

---I called IT last night and tonight. I was asking about 3FP+ in one park, hopping and the KTTW cards in relation my trip in Dec. Both times the person said they will be continuing to give both the bands and the cards. I said I had read they will be limiting the Kttw cards to only select guests. They each said that they will still be giving them out and that any guest can have a kttw card along with their magic bands. If they don't offer it just ask and anyone can use them, they won't be told no. She said one reason they need to give out the cards is because of AP holders, and they can't turn paper fp off for some and not others. And they both said they'd continue to be available to any guests who wants to use them along with bands or in place of them. They also said they can be used to pull paper Fp's and that will help w/park hopping. I asked, I can do that? Again tonight, this woman also said of course, as the guy did last night, I asked is that really allowed or is it cheating(per some posters's opinions), and she said yes it is allowed and expected and it's not cheating. She said the two FP pools don't influence each other, both pulled from separate pools - the two systems don't talk to each other.
Forgot, I also asked about surveys and she said they ask about all FP types you use while testing. Another thing I forgot, she also said in past surveys, the average amt of FP's used by a guest was 2.5

this.

The MDE/magic bands webpages say that anyone concerned about bands and their long range scanning can ask for an RFID card.

I can't imagine they can EVER get rid of that option for a variety of reasons.

So as long as FP- is alive and well for cards things should be all set. In theory they can program the FP- system to search for FP+ and deny based on that, but since it took them literally years to program the FP- system originally to even see if a card was used for park admittance i dont see them wasting any time or resources to update the FP- system right now. But on this I could for sure be wrong.

Exactly! As the CM said, there are people who won't wear or carry a band, or can't because they are allergic or something, offsite guests, AP offsite guests she particularly mentioned, and more. Tonight this CM also said that they will open testing to offsite AP holders next, after they finish current testing which opened to all resorts this week, and goes till Jan 5th. They have heard nothing of a complete roll out as of yet. I asked about offsite guests that were not AP holders and she wasn't sure, it would be sometime after that. She said it was hard to test without being tied to resort so still being worked out. Oh, and I also asked if was MDX or MDE and she said it's officially MDX though some guests call it MDE.

LOL is right. They would have to actually put information on there in the first place that might actually be useful to someone. :lmao:

I know the rumor said it was supposed to start on the 27th. I check in on the 26th. I'll ask the CM and see what kind of answer I get. LOL

Yes, let us know your experience, hope it goes well! And have a great trip!

:thumbsup2 can I get one that make me 4 inches taller and 20lbs lighter?

Whoa, now that is a Magic Band that I definitely want!! :thumbsup2

Going dec 4-14 and still not able to get Fastpass for BOG lunch and also only see until Dec 10, nothing further. When is this supposed to open up? I am running out of patience!

I can see my trip dates (the 14th to the 22nd) for fastpass lunch, there is just no times available when I click on it. As far as I have seen, nobody has been able to get a fastpass lunch any time in December so far. No idea when they will release them.

I have been having a heck of a time getting MDE on my computer to even recognize my DVC reservation, much less allow me to do anything with it. So last night I downloaded MDE on my phone, signed in, and everything was there. I was able to scan our AP vouchers and start making FP+ choices, also customized our MBs. Weird, but whatever, if I have to do it all from my phone so be it.

Where are you seeing BOG I don't see it anywhere on mine?

Just an FYI. I arrive Nov 30 and stay through Dec 8. I just received my invite for MBs and FP+ on email today.
