anyone here do WW without meetings or online?

Great job, Snow!

My weekend was pretty good. I totally stayed on track with points. I had my 5-miler on Saturday, and rested Sunday. I didn't want to rest, but my body seemed to demand it. Yesterday I did an walking on the TM. Tonight I'll have 1.5 hours, for the Biggest Loser.

By the way, if anyone is interested -- the Progresso WW zero point soups are 0 if you have 1 serving (a can is 2), if you eat the entire can, it's 1.5 points. Still a great bargain, but not completely free!

Let's have a great losing week, plenty of days to eat right and get moving!

I just bought some of those! I haven't tried them yet, but I'm planning to have the Southwest Veggie one for dinner tomorrow night - thought I'd cut up some left-over chicken breast and throw it in - make a complete meal of it!:Pinkbounc

Gonna watch the Biggest loser tonight as well - I so love that show - those folks are a true inspiration to me! :cheer2:

:scared1: Help! I'm in need of some positive thoughts!

I was very good point wise and started exercising a bit more - but I'm exactly where I was last week.

I know I know - I would feel tons worse if I gained

But this is rather early for me to be stuck in one place (only my 3rd weigh in!)

Any ideas???

The first thought that came to my mind was, "Wow, she is going to have an AWESOME loss next week!" Every body is different, and who knows why we do what we do? TOM always, always makes me gain. I just have to ignore the scale that week. Also, if you really just pushed yourself, your body could be retaining fluid. Weight can really fluctuate in the first 6 weeks of any weight loss program. Unfortunately, that means both ways.

Try not to worry, and do keep doing good things. Also, have you lost any inches? Are your clothes a bit looser? Did you exercise more than last week? Eat more veggies? Sometimes the scale isn't the only measure of success. This is the hardest time, the newness is wearing off, and you are getting impatient, and you want results right now. I have failed a few times before, that's how I know.

Stay strong, and see what another week brings.

We are here for you, and we can do this together!:grouphug:

Great reply Worfiedoodles! :thumbsup2 All the same things I was going to say! :goodvibes

Don't underestimate the power of water, either. I have a bunch of "water facts"....and did you know that even mild dehydration will slow your metabolism by as much as 3%? :scared: II know I certainly NEED my body working as efficiently as possible! ;)

BTW....I did indeed have that Southwestern Style Veggie soup tonight with some chicken breast in it - and a few pita chips on the side - It was really good....

hello guys.. I just came across this thread.. I have done WW several times in past and I believe I have my info in my desk at work :scared: not a great place for it, but I plan on locating it in the morning and will blow the dust off of it and reread it.. I am back on the bandwagon!

Good morning everyone! :sunny: I had a great weekend! Feeling good, eating right, exercising (hiking....alot....all weekend. Fun!) Off to a good start for my week. :thumbsup2

Hi there Bettyann....time to join us? We'd love to have you here!

How's everyone else doin' out there???:confused3

Good Morning!

I was a sick lil' puppy this weekend (bad cold), but now I'm up and at 'em again. I lost 1 lb. last week, which I will take. Still working on that goal of 10 by Halloween, I'm up to 4, so I''m almost halfway there. I did 5.5 miles on the TM last night, and I'm hoping for another 5 tonight. It's Biggest Loser night again, so that means I will enjoy my workout.

Snow -- It sounds like you had a fantastic weekend! Hiking sounds like a really fun way to burn calories. :cool1:

Bettyann -- :welcome: I'm new, too! Like you, I've done WW before, it's just a matter of following it, and I know the weight will come off eventually!:goodvibes

Carrie -- How are you? I've been a little worried about you. How's it goin' this week? :grouphug:

Volts -- How are you doing? Was last week's weigh-in a happy moment? Even if it wasn't, you are doing healthy things and you will be rewarded!:cheer2:

Everyone have a great night! The Biggest Loser is a terrific motivator, if you're looking in that direction :thumbsup2

Thanks Worfiedoodles and Snow!

Much better this week - down 3 for a grand total of 5 gone!

I think giving myself permission to eat more than the basic number of points a day worked - plus I had my fairy goddaughter's 3rd Birthday AND Indian food on Saturday and a lovely dinner out on Monday so I was completely expecting not to loose anything but very happy that I did.
(Also the pre-TOM may have been a factor in how I dealt with the non-change last week :rolleyes1 )

I also tried my best to exercise a little bit more - I have to keep up with that, I think that was key.

Welcome back on the bandwagon bettyann!

Hi Everyone- I didn't weigh-in last week - I avoid weighing-in around TOM because the scale is TOTALLY unpredictable at that time of month so I skip that week.
Tomorrow is weigh-in and I am expecting a gain. If I maintain I will be SO happy- but I think that is unlikely.
I have been careless with eating and I should start walking again- I stopped after I walked 3 miles each day and gained weight that week. Excersing makes me so hungry- but I know I have to do it.

I hope everyone is doing well- I will post after weigh-in tomorrow.

Great job carrieb!!!

I hope this info isn't too outdated!
I don't really understand how to calculate activity points but I basically allow myself 2 extra pts per day when I do my excersise (2.5-3mile brisk walk)

I just joined WW last week. They used this quiz to determine points:

Sex: Female (2) Male (8); nursing mom (12)
Age: 17-26 (4); 27-37 (3); 38-47 (2); 48-58 (1); over 58 (0)
Weight: if over 100 pounds use the 1st 2 digits in your weight; if under 100 pounds use the first digit in your weight.
Height: Under 5'1" (0); 5'2"-5-10 (1); over 5'10" (2)
How do you spend your day: sitting (0); some sitting, but mostly standing (2); Walking all the time (4); physical labor (6)

Then you add all the points together to get you points for the day.

So far, I am liking the program--I weigh in on Friday. I initially dropped on my scales at home, but now have bounced back up a little bit--guess I'll see what the scale says on Friday.

Good Morning!

Tomorrow is my weigh-in day, but I'm feeling pretty good about it, even though I know TOM is approaching. I was so sick Saturday and Sunday --- I know it is a terrible way to lose, but since I don't seem to be gaining it back, I'll take it!

I had five mile walks Monday and Tuesday, and yesterday I just couldn't will myself to move. Today I'm hoping for a short workout, but it's a dicey proposition. We have a family dentist appointment (I schedule or check-ups back to back, it's just easier to get everyone in the same place at the same time) this afternoon, and then dh has a night meeting. That means I have to do homework checking, shower, dinner, etc. with ds, and it will probably be 8 by the time I can have a minute for myself. I guess I could walk on the TM to Ugly Betty, I'm sure that would hold my interest!

I've been doing great with the Points. Last night after dinner I wanted to eat everything in sight, but I limited myself to a 100 cal pack of Pringles, an apple, and a 100 cal pack of Lorna Doone's. I've only used 4.5 of my extra 35 points so far. I used .5 last week, and none the week before, but I think this is more realistic eating. At the beginning, I denied myself too much and it was making me testy. Eating a little more (but not over), seems to keep me satisfied and in a good mood :goodvibes

NCRedding -- it is funny because I'm doing WW Online, and I get one more pt. per day with that formula than the meeting formula. I intend to cut back 1 pt., anyway, because I'm close to a new point level and that way it won't be such a big transition. Thanks for explaining, I've wondered if there was a more accurate way to pinpoint than just your weight!

Volts -- TOM is not our friend, at least when it comes to weight loss! It's so demoralizing to see a gain, plus my hormones already make me weepy and morose. I don't blame you a bit for skipping last week. I may skip next week...but I probably won't be able to resist -- I'm one of those chronic weighers :upsidedow Anyway, good luck tomorrow, and remember it is just one week.

Carrie -- :woohoo: Congratulations! Five lbs is awesome! Exercise really does help. If I wasn't training for the Disney Half (and walking my little tail off), I would not be raking in the exercise points. All we have to do (like it's that easy!) is put together eating right and exercise, and we will succeed!

Snow -- How's your week going?:yay: Are you finding time to workout? I still need to get a supply of soup in my cupboards. I had a few cans, and I ate them:rolleyes1 I'm hoping Friday afternoon I can spend a little time in the grocery store.

Ok, everyone hang in there. The weekend is coming, but I know we will be strong! And good luck to all of us weighing in tomorrow, I'll catch ya then!

Maria

ACCCKK! Worst weigh-in in months!!! I am embarrased to even say what I gained- but I have to: 5 pounds!!! Maybe this is a good thing. It is a sign that I HAVE TO STAY ON PLAN!

No fooling around, nose to the grindstone this week- no cheating.
I am now off to update my ticker- this is ganna hurt.

Good Morning!

It's that dreaded day -- why do I always weigh less on Thursday than Friday? If this trend continues next week, I'm changing my weigh-in day!

So, I'm down 2 lbs., for a grand total of 6 so far. I'm on schedule to lose 10 before Halloween. I can feel the approach of TOM, so I'm pretty sure next week will be scary. I just have to keep working out and eating right, no matter what the scale says. It will all sort itself out, as long as I don't give up.

Volts -- I am so sorry! I know this is not what you were hoping for, but I know you are right, if you consistently do the right things, you will go down overall. It's just hard to see when you're in an blip with an increase, but it will be alright. I have faith in you! And look at how far you have come!
Check in as often as you need to, we are here to give you support. :grouphug:

Ok, Big Losers! Let us know how you are doing, and how you plan to conquer the weekend. We are eating out Saturday night, and I'm eating off the WW menu at Applebee's. I'll be just as full, and the points will not wreck my week!

We're having company for Sunday dinner, and I'll be portioning my food, and making a WW dessert. This can be done!

Keep Smiling!
Maria

Chaos. That's the one word I'm going to use to describe my week! Nothing *bad* mind you, just crazy-busy. I did get in 4 quality exercise sessions, and ate pretty well. I haven't journaled all week (which is usually my biggest downfall...)....I'm hanging in there - looking forward to a more *normal* week this week so that I can focus on ME for a while! :goodvibes

TenThousand....I'm sorry to hear about your gain :scared: For me, it's not the pound or two gained that bothers me, but the trend. I've worked so hard to get where I am, and it takes constant vigilance to make sure I don't regress! Simply a frustrating fact of life for me. :headache:

Have a great Monday everyone :thumbsup2 A new week, another chance to make good choices for our health!

Welcome new people!

Snow---sorry for the chaos

volts---I know you will persevere!

I had a rough last 2 months. Not having any motivation, not feeling like watching what I eat or counting points. My weight surprisingly has been maintaining. The most I went up is 4 pounds, however the biggest shock came last week when I stepped on the scale and weighed in at 119!!!! (I'm only 4 ft 11 inches tall)

I am more than pleased with that number. If I can maintain around that number without counting points I'm more than happy!!!

The only thing I've been doing differently is going for a walk around the lake a few days a week, and walking around the Disney parks as usual. I also cut down on drinking diet soda since I don't like the after taste even with splenda.

I'm going to start back up on the toning dvd's I was doing back in May, so that i can work on my abs and thighs since that is where I seem to store the excess.

Good Morning!

I had a Points-filled weekend, but I was counting and aware, and I got 16 activity points (Friday-Sunday), so I think it's going to be ok. I ate more than usual, I ate out twice, and we had a family dinner yesterday -- but I was down 1 lb. today. I'm not counting it yet. My weigh in day isn't until Friday, and honestly I'm hoping to lose more before then. I just wanted to see how things were going:rolleyes1

I'm starting to have meals where I really don't want to eat what I have planned, but once I make the Progresso soup, it fills me up. I also made gingerbread yesterday, and it calls my name. My ds doesn't eat cake or pies, and dh will only eat one piece a day. I'm telling myself I'd rather throw it away than have to take it off my thighs, but sometimes it's hard to hear that.

Tink -- It sounds like you are doing great! Your weight sounds like a fantasy to me, and even with that you are ready to do toning, that is fantastic! What a great role model you are!:goodvibes

Snow -- You are going to enjoy focusing on you this week! It is going to do you good to think about you and your goals, and wow, even when you couldn't do what you wanted, you got in 4, count 'em four, great workouts!:cheer2:

Volts -- How are you doing with staying on plan? Do you have any strategies you use when you are trying to be very strict?:cutie:

This is a new week and a new opportunity to make healthy choices (I think someone wise once said;)

Let's Do It!
Maria

Good morning everyone! Thanks for all of the encouraging words! :goodvibes

I just returned from the gym, where I had a good workout :yay: and a stern "talking to" from my trainer! :rolleyes1 (I confessed all of my dietary sins from the weekend :scared1: )

lovethattink...I'm in the same boat you are - trying to find my motivation again. I need some kind of challenge or goal to focus on. So, I'm starting to run again (been biking all summer instead) to prepare for the 4.75 mile Thanksgiving Day race that we traditionally run. Only ran 1 1/2 miles this morning, but my body isn't used to it anymore, so it was a challenge!

I'm making a pledge to be good to myself today. :flower3:

Good Afternoon!

Motivation is a tricky thing -- I think the key is to do what you need to whether you feel motivated or not, and then eventually it will come. That's what I tell myself, and sometimes I even follow it;)

I really, really want to be able to say I lost 10 lbs before Halloween, so that is getting me in motion, and away from the pantry.

I know in my head TOM is playing havoc with my numbers this week, but I will still be very disappointed if I don't see a loss Friday. I'm going to remember that persevering talk....:goodvibes

So, ds has his first Halloween Party Saturday. Any good ideas for keeping myself away from the treat table? I am a total sucker for home-baked goods:upsidedow

Maria

Hi guys- I haven't had a chance to catch up on all your posts but just wanted to paost my weigh-in. I am down 2 lbs from last week (when I was up 5). I have been completely unfocussed. I am pretty ashamed.
I need to get refocussed now- I have 2 trips coming up- in 1 month I am going to Cancun for 3 days  and in 2 months I am going to WDW for 7 days:woohoo: on the DDP :scared1: I really want to get into a good healthy groove this month before I head to Mexico.
I am really going to try this week.
Good luck everyone!
