anyone here do WW without meetings or online?

I am not really from Alaska but my Dh is stationd up here. Originally we are from Ohio.
Last year it made it to -60!:scared1:

Lunch has been a tough one lately. I have been in a slump for a while now. Yesterday I had a WW sate fe Rice for 6 pts that was good.

How about whole grain pita with tuna?
Morning Star Farms Corndogs are 3 pts
Progresso Minestone soup 3 pts
Campbells 98% fat free New ENgland Clam Chowder is 4 pts
A tortilla with grilled chicken strips and lots of veggies

I don't know if you can get Curly's pulled pork, but it is prepared and refrigerated at my grocery store. 1/4 cup is only 2 points. The rolls are called 'whitewheat light' and they taste like white rolls but they are only 1 point.

I'm going to look for the pulled pork - thanks for the idea! I've been eating a lot of egg white salad lately - (only whites, no yolks....) on a whole grain wrap. I really like it, but it's starting to get boring....yesterday I did have grilled chicken (as suggested by natenapril...) and today I finally remembered to buy tuna at the store! SO. Hopefully a little variety will help keep me motivated.

I'm having a cheese craving lately....grilled cheese, mac & cheese....??? perhaps I need more calcium in my diet??? :goodvibes

I try to sprinkle a little cheese on my salad when I crave cheese. It seems to work well.

I wonder what happened to Paul DavidsMOM?
It seems we have lost a few posters:confused3

Well, weigh-in today was horrendous. I expected it to be bad, just not this bad. Up 4.6. I guess two days off the program was not a good idea. It started with a buffalo chicken cheese steak and went downhill from there. Oh well, it's a new week. Hopefully I'll get rid of those 4.6 pounds, plus some. I really have to start exercising!

Natenapril---Congratulations!! :woohoo:

Don't woryy PrincessAurora- you will do better this week.

Hooray- I lost 1.5 lbs. I think I may go to having an official weigh-in every 2 weeks. I am at the point where the weight is going to come off slowly, hopefully around 4-5 lbs per month. So I am thinking every 2 weeks may make me feel more accomplished - then these tiny weekly losses.

Congrats on the loss TenThousand!!!!!!

Hang in there PrincessAurorainPA!!
PS We are moving to PA this summer!!!!

That's what I do - weigh in officially every-other week. I too am at the frustratingly difficult tail end...only have 4-5 pounds to goal. BUT - the closer I get, the s-l-o-w-e-r it comes off :confused3 Patience is not a virtue that I possess

Hang in there PrincessAurora - I know my weight can fluctuate a good 2 pounds on any given day. As long as the overall trend is downward you should be doin' ok!!!

Man it has been tough few days. My son has not been sleeping at night and I seem to eat when I am tired and stressed. :guilty:
I am going to try to have a better day but it's tough. It seems like once you get off track it is so hard to get back on.

Hi all:wave2: My name is Linda, and I have just started back on WW (yesterday) and thought I would join you. Like most of you, I have been successful on WW in the past, but gained back most of the weight:confused3

Now I am doing WW on my own (I went to one meeting, just to get the new materials and remind myself of the basics) and looking forward to the journey with all of you. I am 38, 5'5", and weighed in yesterday at 206.4. My first goal is to get back under 200 (babysteps, right?? ) My second goal is to have lost 20 lbs. prior to our trip to the World in June. Then I plan to set small goals after that. My BIGGIE goal is to be at 155 before I turn 40, which is in April of 2008.

My one favorite tip from last time I did WW.... I have a lot of trouble getting in veggies and milks (I don't drink the stuff at all, have to rely on cheese and yogurt, lol), so when I get the late afternoon just got home from work and can't wait till dinner munchies, I have a cup of premade salad with 1/4 cup of shredded cheese and use 1/2 cup salsa on it instead of dressing. Boom... 2 veggies and a milk for three points, and it usually takes care of the munchies.

Looking forward to getting to know all of you!!!

Hi Linda- Welcome!
You came to the right place, this thread has been a God send for me. Everyone is so encouraging. I have been on WW (on my own) for about 5 weeks and it is going very well. Just commit and before you know it you will be cruising along and slimming down.
PS: Thanks for the tip. I eat salad with salsa too.

Hi Linda! Welcome! I too am on a WW "do-over" I had lost 45 pounds, kept it off for several years, then...very slowly over the past 3 years I regained nearly 15 pounds. This is a very welcoming place - lots of encouragment and great support!!!! :cheer2:

Can a person who IS doing WW WITH meetings AND online join this group?

Of course the more the merrier (sp)!

Welcome to you and Linda!

Well I must say I have not done well at all this week - I am really disappointed w/myself. I haven't done my journal, I've only exercised once and I'm just tired all the time. I guess I'm in a rut. I'm hoping to get on the TM tomorrow. W/school vacation and my DH working days and nights this week there hasn't been any "me time". I guess I need to get up earlier and get my exercise in then.

I think I know what caused my downward spiral - I ordered a bathing suit from Land's End. Well lets just say it didn't look good. It didn't look terrible either but my DH said it looked old fashioned and made me look older then I am. I'm not sure what he thinks I can fit into - a bikini - I don't think so! It was a tankini but instead of the regular bottoms I ordered the swim mini to hide my problem area (upper thighs). I just thought I'd be more comfortable in it while keeping up w/my kids at the pool. I dunno.

Sorry to be so negative guys - I really try to be positive most of the time. Everyone have a good weekend - I'm going to try and whip myself back into shape!

Joanne

Hi BethR- you are my old friend from the budget board! You know I used to be CheapMom and I was always on the budget board. I lost my password so I started using my son's screen-name. Then I remembered my password to CheapMom but I had gotten a visit from the TF while I was posting as tenthousandvolts so I stuck with it.
Anyway, welcome to this thread- it is full of wonderful, supportive people. How long have you been doing WW? I have tried MANY weight loss programs the last few years and WW is my favorite.

Welcome Ruth!!:wave2:

JJsMOM Hang in there! Trying on bathing suits is hard on everyone! Give it some time and I am sure you will find the right one. It has been a tough week for me too so we will feel sorry for each other together!!!

Today is my 10th anniversary and we are going out to eat at a new Mexican restaraunt. My DH bought me a laptop and I fond a 42 inch plasma for him yesterday that was 50% off!! I had to give it to him yesterday because I could not carry it in the house by myself:laughing:

Anyways, tomorrow is a new day and we will get through this!!pixiedust:

Ack. Bathing suits. Most women's worst nightmare. :scared: You know, NOTHING looks good right now with my paste-y white legs :lmao: I've reached the point in my life where function out-ranks fashion 9 out of 10 times. What is going to fit you well, and you won't be completely self-concious in? That's the suit to choose. If all my *parts* are appropriately covered...well then, I'm good. They make so many styles of swimwear these days - and as a mother of teenage boys, I really do prefer to see suits with a bit more coverage...on EVERY female!!! :goodvibes

(and please....can we outlaw those skimpy little mens speedos? They are just so wrong....:sad2: )

Thanks everyone for the welcome!!

BethR - maybe you can give us the highlights of your meetings??

SnowWhite - I hear ya on the speedo's.... just NASTY!!

Weather here is turning so nasty. I really wanted to get out and walk a couple times this weekend, but we have had rain all morning, turning to freezing rain right now and snow overnight. UGH.

But weekends are usually hard eating for me, and I am pleased that I am doing really good so far. We went to the grocery store this morning and stocked up on plenty of good food, and I have the weekend all planned out, so hopefully I will stick to it!!!

By the way, I love the Onward and Downward saying that some of you end your e-mails in!!!!

I don't even want to think of bathing suits. And our weather is getting so nice lately. I saw some 50% off suit sales, but figured I want to wait 'til I lose more. Maybe I can then fit into an old suit. Would love to get a next suit that isn't skirted. My 13 year old tells me I look like his grandma in it.
