anyone here do WW without meetings or online?

Thanks for the words of encouragement! Yeah bathing suits have always been an issue for me. Thing is I look back at pics of me wearing one when I thought I looked fat and now I wish I looked like that again :lmao:. Pretty funny! Speedos are just gross - I agree!

I'll keep looking for a suit. I'm going on a girls only shopping trip next weekend w/my mom and 2 sisters. Maybe I'll find something then. If not I have one I can wear its just I'm not as comfortable in it as I'd like. Land's End really has some nice bathing suits - the ones I like have a long wrap as a coverup but I can just see myself tripping :rotfl:. I'm not very graceful!

Thanks again everyone. Onward and downward!!!!!!

OMG- I used 20 flex points in 1 day. :scared1: I only have 15 left until Wednesday- yikes. Oh well, I guess that is what they are there for.

Thank you for your warm welcome everyone! It will be so nice to have a group of other WWs to talk to.

I definitely will share what is discussed in the meetings each week. I did weigh in on Thursday this week and will probably stick to that day and class. I liked the leader. I got in a little late this week, but I think they were talking about changing negative thinking into positive thinking. We were given a sheet to jot negative thoughts that we have and what we could do to make them positive thoughts

That is hard for me to do in any kind of situation - I am not the most positive person in the world. :( But I will let that go for now in the spirit of erasing negative thinking. :thumbsup2

I like how they talk about different foods, etc. Our leader was talking about the Morning Star Farms "steak strips." She said that she put them on a baguette with peppers and onions and you would have never known that they are soy and not beef. I may have to give those a try.

TTV! I never knew that you were CheapMom! Why didn't you tell me before this? :) So nice to see you - on the BB, CB and here!

Talk to you all a little later. :wave2:

Speaking of of positive thinking... I saw a commercial this morning and I thought the slogan was perfect for weight loss. The commercial was actually for financial planning, and they said "It's not just about the goal, it's about the dream"

How is everyone's weekend going?? I stayed with my planned meals and snacks yesterday, so I was pleased with that. I also did my WATP tape yesterday. Today, so far I have stayed with planned meals and snacks, plus when dh went out to snow blow (we got about 7 inches), I grabbed a shovel and went out and worked HARD to help him clear snow. (NOT something I would usually do:rolleyes1 ) I was out there for an hour!!!!

My weekend was rough because my daughter had a sleepover on Friday and we ordered Pizza Hut:scared1: and the Sat. was my anniversary and we went out for Mexican:scared1: I have been eating lots of veggies and lots od water today to help out with weigh in tomorrow!

This week will be better!! Onward and Downward!!!!!!!!!

My weekend was both good and bad. My parents arrived from PA on Thursday night. They stopped in Lake Buena Vista and at Cici's. They got food poisoning and were sick all day Friday and most of Saturday. Since all they could stomach was jello (all I had was sugar-free, I was able to stay on or below points by eating salads and jello. They are doing much better today!

Yesterday they felt ok enough to go to AK. We ate at home and just went for a couple hours to see the Nemo musical show. (No show, due to technical difficulties :( ) We parked in the giraffe lot (all the way in the back, 2nd to last row.) I walked instead of taking the tram both to and from AK.

Tomorrow we are taking them to MGM, so I will need to be careful what I choose to eat there. It's mom's 65 birthday! She wants to eat at Sci-Fi, so it's gonna be tomato soup and side salad for me.

lovethattink- I am sorry your parents visit is off to such a rocky start. Make sure to your mom a birthday button today! Have a great time!
You know I checked the scale this morning and to my great surprise I am down- After almost 2 weeks of eating completely on plan and using nearly zero flex points (in 10 days I think I used 3 flex pts.) - and only losing 1.5 pounds- I treated myself- used a bunch of flex pts (but still stayed on plan) and boom- the scale goes down. Interesting.

Hi ladies!

I'm hopping back in here after spending lots of time lurking. Things have been so busy around here that I only have time to peek onto this thread and post my exercise total on the February challenge thread. You all have such positive things to say that it's nice to read even when I don't really have anything to contribute.

Congrats natenapril on your 10th anniversary...and the great score on your DH's present. Mine would flip if I brought home something like that. :) DH bought me a "more acceptable" wedding ring for our 10th a few years ago, and he was so excited about it that he gave it to me a full week before our anniversary. He never could keep a secret! :rotfl:

ScrapHappyMama--Love that slogan, and I just might have to adopt it myself. When I weigh in each Monday, and the scale hasn't moved nearly as quickly as it would have 10 years ago, I have to remind myself that it's not about that end number, it's about all the fantastic things that happen throughout this healthier lifestyle I've chosen.

lovethattink--Hope that your parents are feeling better this morning! Enjoy your time with them and :bday: to your mom!

TenThousandVolts--Can't remember the name of the website since it's been so long, but several years ago when I was attempting WW, I stumbled upon this site with an alternative theory on how to use daily points. This was back when there was a daily range of points, and you could bank points for a splurge during the week. Anyway, this girl on some days would eat at the low end of her points, some at the high, and once a week she would eat about 10 points over. She steadily lost weight every week. It always scared me to do that, but it really did seem to work when I tried it...once I got over the feeling like I was cheating. It seems like it might hold true for the plan now, too, because last week I used ALL of my points...and then a few extra...but I still managed to lose 1.5 pounds. :confused3

I started WW again on January 22nd, and I'm officially down 10 pounds as of this morning's weigh in. I did measurements in the beginning, too, and I've lost 11.5 inches. :cool1: I've still got a long way to go, but I'm so excited about the possibilities right now. DH wants to spend a week at the beach in August, so if that's not additional motivation, I don't know what is. :scared1:

Have a wonderful day everyone! We can do this! :thumbsup2

Welcome back luvmy2sams!! Congrats on the weight loss and inches lost!! THat is great!!!:cool1:
Lovethatthink, Sorry to hear about your parents. Hopefully the rest of their time with you is better!!

I actually maintained this week. Not sure how after the way I ate but I was excited.:cool1: I expected the scale to be up at least 2 lbs:scared1: This week will be better!!

Onward and Downward ladies!!!

hi everyone! :wave2: i just joined ww online today after months of thinking about it and not getting any thinner (i gained over 10 lbs this winter alone!! :scared1:). i'm only trying to lose 30 lbs, so not too much, but i can't do it without some help. i'm wayyyy too much of a muncher when i get home from work. gotta start knitting again to keep my fingers out of food while i'm watching tv!

Welcome Linda, Iggbees and BethR! And welcome back Lovemy2sams! Congrats on the loss! :cheer2:

Natenapril--Where in PA will you be moving? I live in the Philly suburbs. It'll be a big change from Alaska, huh?

Tenthousandvolts--20 flexpoints in one day, hah! I think I've done all 35 in one day.:scared1:

Salsa on salads sounds good. Maybe it will taste like a taco salad.
We're going to be getting a family membership to the Y, so hopefully that will get me moving. :yay:

We will be moving to the Mifflinburg area. Have you heard of the Laurelton Center? Our friends bought it and my DH will be working there. Yes, it will be a change from Alaska but that is a good thing;)

Congrats on the gym membership!!!!!

COngrats on jumping into a life change!! Jump in and keep posting! THis thread has really helped me!

For the second week in a row I have maintained. I weigh myself some during the week and have been down, but when weigh-in day comes it goes back to where it was. :confused3
I think I am in those winter doldrums. I have basically stopped exercising and I haven't strictly been OP for a couple of weeks now. I just want spring to come so I can get out side and walk or run. I've got to do something to get myself back in the game. Any suggestions?

Mom0299, I maintained for weeks too. I can feel your frustration.
I had to change a few things to see a loss. I am not using all of my flex points. Mostly trying to use only about 5-10 a week. And I am eating lots of celery and carrots. I have a salad every day for lunch last week and finally have a loss of 3 lbs. Not a whole lot but it felt better than maintaining.:upsidedow

Hang in there!!

hi everyone! :wave2: i just joined ww online today after months of thinking about it and not getting any thinner

:lmao:

Wouldn't it be great if just thinking about it really worked?????

I snuck a peek at the scale today (my official weigh in isn't until Thursday) and I am down 5.2 lbs... of course it is just the first week, so those big losses always come. I just hope it stays there for the weigh in!!!!

Have a good day everyone!!!

:lmao:

haha yeah! that would be awesome! unfortunately..... we actually have to work at it. :sad2:

thanks for the hello's everyone! i love the online tracker. i spend so much of my time online (even at work... which i probably shouldn't) it's soooo much easier for me. plus there's no weight watchers meetings that i could attend here. i live in the boonies.

i'm sure i'll feel the pain of not losing anything after probably the first week too. i can't wait for spring either. it'll be so much easier when i can take my bike to work!

Hi everyone- for you guys that are maintaining- just stick with it. Something about that 10 pound mark- I think everyone hits a platteau there. Just keep on truckin' and you will break through eventually.
I am doing great- I have 10 flex points left for the next 2 days- I will probably use them all and see what happens at weigh-in. I am hovering around the 150 mark on the scale and I am NOT looking forward to reducing my daily points from 22 to 20! Breaking into the 140's will definately be bittersweet for that reason. I read a post by someone here on WISH that said she continued to eat 22 points after she got under 150 - and still continued to lose. So we will se what happens. I will probably try that too.

I hope everybody is doing well- Have a great OP day!

ttv - maybe you could keep the 22 points, and try to decrease your flex points by 14??? The math would come out the same, but it might make you feel better!!

iggbees - I wish I could bike to work!! I have a 55 minute commute.... is there any exercise I can do while driving??? :rotfl:

i think it depends on how many flex points you use during the week and how much you exercise. you could probably keep losing if you only ate 22 points and exercised once a day for a half an hour, because it would basically get rid of those extra points.

i'm trying to keep my use of flexpoints to a minimum to increase the amount i lose. i was on weight watchers about 3 years ago and i lost 30 lbs, which i have slowly regained 20 of those lbs. i remember when i did it (before the flexpoints) i used to eat 25-28 points a day and i continued to lose weight with regular hour walks or pilates each day. i'm sure you can find something that works for you!
