anyone here do WW without meetings or online?

Hi everyone! Well - I gained 2 lbs last week but I was expecting it so I was not surprised. Feeling yucky today - I must be coming down w/something. But I'm back to using my journal and I did exercise yesterday. So things are looking up that way. Hopefully I'll feel like exercising later today - we'll see.

Welcome to all the new folks! Keep up the good work! Spring is on the way - we'll be outside soon and I'll be complaining about the heat in a few months - I'm never happy :rotfl:. Onward and downward!

JJsMOM You have lost a lot of weight already so hang in there. Those last few lbs probably want to be stubborn:laughing:

Onward and Downward ladies.

Hi all...:wave2: I'm checking in after a few really rotten days. Rotten in attitude and well, honestly? Rotten in mental well-being. :sad2: I totally had a frustration breakdown on Friday when I realized that my DH (180 lbs of pure muscle...11% body fat....see what I have to live with :rotfl: ) had more calories in the doritos that he was eating WITH his lunch, then I had in my entire meal. I had been working so hard, being very strict with my diet and exercise for the last 6 weeks (with the one exception of that previously confessed lovely chocolate lava cake.... ) and the scale had not budged in the last 2 weeks....and frankly, I lost it. :sad1:

The GOOD news in all this is....I kept up my hard work this past weekend, and on Monday I met with the trainer at the gym and found out 2 things. First...I wasn't eating enough points - so after 6 weeks my body (and brain!) just "gave out" :confused3 and second....I had indeed lost about 2 pounds of BODY FAT and gained that much LEAN MUSCLE :cheer2: After 2 days of eating an extra 2 points per day, I'm feeling WAAAAYYYY better AND the scale has dipped slightly! (go figure...eat more to lose more??? :confused3 ) So...for this whole week my "assignment" is to eat those few extra calories each day and see where that gets me. :goodvibes

AKASnowWhite , THat is great news!! I need a trainer!!
I understand your frustration with not loosing as your DH can loose. My DH and I started at the same time and let's just say that I am way behind:rolleyes1

I am going to check out Sparkpeople.com today. THere is a thread about here and it seems pretty helpful.

Need to head out to walmart and the kids wanted McD's but we are compromising on Subway:teacher:

Hang in ladies! We will get there! Onward and Downward:banana:

Thanks for the encouragement natenapril! I'm back on track this week so we'll see what happens Monday. My DS7 is so sick - not sure if its food poisoning or virus. I've been up all night w/the poor guy - he can't keep anything down. So today will be very low key. Take care all!

Onward and downward!:thumbsup2

Hope that your son is on the mend soon! It's no fun when our little ones are sick.

This has been a rough week. DH is out of town on business, so our schedules are a little out of wack. I haven't been eating well at all. I'm still journaling and accounting for all the points, but my food choices have been awful! :sad2: Oh well...today is a good day, and I want to end this week on a high note.

Keep on keepin' on everyone!

Pixie dust to everyone, sprinkle spinkle those pounds away! (If only it was that easy!)

That's great that you have a personal trainer!! The few more calories a day will be great too!

I lost 1 pound this past week, so that means I'm back to what I lost 2 weeks before that. It's amazing though how that loss really changed my attidude. It feels great! Onward and downward!! (I love that phrase!)

I know for me it really changed my attitude when I finally saw a loss on the scale! It made mw want to work harder to keep seeing the loss.

Thank you for the best wishes - he seems to be feeling a little better this afternoon! I fixed chicken noodle soup for lunch and he had 3-4 spoonfuls and so far it has stayed down. Poor guy - this is his first time w/this type of germ. Hes such a good sport about it - he keeps saying "Geez Mom is the bug gone yet" or "Mom this is one bad bug". Hes very active so this is really difficult. They bounce back so quickly - I just hope the rest of us don't get it. I'm washing my hands all the time.

Last week was really rough for me so I can relate (as we all can) - just do your best to get on track and don't beat yourself up over it too bad. My choices haven't been great either - I'm reaching for the quick snacks i.e. fruit snacks instead of the usual peaches or yogurt, can of fresca instead of water/milk. I think for me today its whatever is the quickest.

Take care all!

Hi Everyone! I've just gotten caught up from the past couple weeks. Welcome to the new members!:thumbsup2 Congratulations to everyone who lost! Good Job! :cheer2: To those who are struggling a little (I'm right there with you) :wizard:
I didn't post last week because I have had a horrible cold and even lost my voice for a few days. It is FINALLY going away now after over a week. Unfortunately, I never lost my appetite  and was unable to exercise because I could hardly even breathe. Last week I lost 2 lbs, though it was somewhat 'unofficial' because I normally go to visit my family on Thursday evenings and they have a Dr. scale so that's where I weigh. But, I didn't go last Thursday since I was sick. Luckily, my DH had just gotten me a digital WW scale for V-day :rotfl: I think some women would probably kill their husband if they got that! He knew I had been wanting one though, and I was happy to get it. Anyway, so I weighed on that last Thursday. As long as the other scale I weigh on is accurate and my new one is, then I lost 2 lbs last week. I just weighed for this week (again on my scale at home) and gained .2. That's not too bad considering I couldn't exercise and didn't bother to count points because I just felt so bad (I guess that was my excuse!). I had ordered some Girl Scout cookies awhile back and they were delivered yesterday. I ate a whole sleeve of Thin Mints :guilty: Luckily, I had to share them with my DH, so his half is in the cookie jar and I can't eat anymore!

I guess I can get my Dis Wish 10 lb icon, but I'm afraid I'll jinx it and gain and then have to trade it back in for the 5...that would be horrible, so I'm kind of afraid to do it!

NATENAPRIL: I actually taught cake decorating classes for awhile last year, then I got so busy with orders from people that I had to quit teaching. So, now I just make them for customers. It is a huge challenge for me. I think that's how I put on most of my weight. I LOVE the icing I make and feel like I have to eat it when it's left from the cakes I do  I've been trying to get out of that habit, and it hasn't been too bad. It's just hard smelling it and working with it. How ironic that cake is my favorite food ever and I "can't" eat it, but I work with it. I must like to torture myself.

Marshmelo, Mind sharing the recipe? I am making my son a Lightning McQueen cake and could use all the tips I can get:scared:
Congrats on the loss!

Sure, I would be happy to give you my icing recipe. Here it is:

Medium Consistency:
1 cup solid white vegetable shortening (I use one of those Crisco sticks)
1 teaspoon Wilton Flavoring (I use: 1/2 tsp Vanilla, 1/4 + 1/8 tsp Butter, 1/8 tsp Almond)
3 Tablespoons water (for stiff consistency, only use 2, for thin, use 4)
1 lb. pure cane confectioners' sugar (I use a 1 lb. box of Domino 10x)
1 Tablespoon Wilton Meringue Powder
Optional - a pinch of salt (I don't do this...I like the extra sweet taste)

- Cream shortening, flavoring and water. Add dry ingredients and mix on medium speed until all ingredients have been thoroughly6 mixed together. Blend an additional minute or so, until creamy.

Are you taking the Wilton class? If so, I'm sure they told you about the 'Cake Release' to use instead of grease/flour in the pan. I love this stuff! Just brush it onto the pan with a pastry brush. Also, the bake even strips that you soak in water and wrap around edges of pans really work to keep the cake from 'crowning'. My favorite cake is the Pillsbury mix made with egg whites only. I bake my cakes at 325 for a longer time (usually about 35 min. for two 8" round pans with 1 mix split between the pans, or 40 min. for an 11x15 sheet with 2 mixes)

Good luck, and let us know how your cake turns out! Feel free to ask me any other questions about cake decorating.

I myself didn't ever go to the meeting but I got all the WW materials from my mom. I myself lost about 35 #'s in 3 months about 5 years ago doing WW on my own and working out almost every day. I think exercise is the key! I have probably gained back 20 pounds in the past 2 years. :sad2: Now I'm back on the exercise wagon I just haven't goten back in to the diet routine. My b-day is in a couple days and we leave for WDW at the end of May so I figure I'll get back on the diet routine after my b-day. I have been exercising now for 2 months and haven't lost anything!!!! All b/c of the diet aspect I'm sure.

I haven't been to a meeting in 8 weeks which is when I returned to WWs. I weigh in and then off to the gym. I get more benefit from the gym then from those lame meetings. I've lost 26 lbs in 8 weeks so something is working.

I hope you know you are killing me here. :lmao: 1lb of sugar, OMG that sounds so good.:lmao:
Natenapril- good luck on the Lighning McQueen. Take a picture od the cake for us.

Marshmelo, Thanks for the recipe! Yes, it is the wilton class at Joann's. This weeks class as cancelled:sad1:
TenThousand, I will post a pic but no laughing:laughing:
knull81, I have the oppisite problem. I am eating well but not excersing. I need to step it up!

sorry i have to gripe for a minute: today my lab group is going to bertucci's for lunch and i have noooo idea what to get there. everything is sooooooo fatty! i was thinking maybe the chicken piccata, since it's really just floured chicken with wine and olive oil sauce and if i only eat half of that i should be ok, right? so tough.

Well, I had a good first week. Stayed OP (didn't use any flex points), did WATP three times, and started an upper body toning program. Was down 3.8 lbs., for my official weigh in yesterday. The first week is always so easy, if only it would stay that way!!

Today, we are homebound due to a snow storm. The clinic where I work closed for the day because of the weather. The worst of the snow was actually last night, but the blowing and drifting today is horrible. Across the street from us the houses had snow drifts half way up their garage doors!!! Glad the wind was blowing that way!!!:rolleyes1

Have a great day everyone!!!

sorry i have to gripe for a minute.

Must be something in the air, because I'm having that kind of a day too. :sad2: Although I've stayed true to my plan today, I feel very unfocused. I just want to eat complete junk for dinner... :scared: but I won't....it's almost 6:00 and I don't know what we're having - the kids have so many things going on tonight, our schedule is crazy  I'm frazzled, I'm stressed, I'm hungry and feeling gross.

Oh well....pity party time is over...gotta feed the crew....;)

Having a blah day as well. DS7 still sick and now DD4 & DH are sick :scared1:. Hopefully me and DD1 stay healthy but it may be inevitable. I actually haven't been eating that much - I'm being very careful w/this bug that we have. Kind of bummed - I missed my weekend overnight shopping spree w/my Mom and 2 sisters. I've looked forward to it since our last one in December - they'll be other times. I just really needed to get away but my kids need me more. I could never leave them being sick - no way!

Well hope everyone's weekend is going ok. Onward and downward!

Joanne

Well, my pity party continued into the morning today - so I went to the gym and had a kick-butt workout! Completely refocused my mind. :thumbsup2

My food intake has been right on track for today. I made a yum-o Jambalya that I'd been craving all week for dinner :jumping3: It was a good day. :dance3: (now....to string a few of these together in a row...;) )

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!!!!
