Hi

Is anyone due to travel early next week?
We are due to go out on 14th (after already being post poned from 4th Sept due to Frances!!).

It's looking like we are going to get cancelled again due to Ivan!

Has anyone heard anything?

We are going with Airtours and booked with TV Travelshop, but neither are saying anything, except about Jamaica and Cuba.

I know that Virgin have posted an annoucement about possible Florida flight disruptions early next week but Airtours are saying nothing.

We would much rather change our holiday now than get to the airport and be delayed for 2 days, and miss some of our honeymoon.

They won't let us change the holiday until the flight actually gets cancelled, or we will lose all our money!

It's so frustrating!!

What have you guys done?

Virgin have an announcement on their website for anyone travelling in the next few days.

Our son is due to fly home from Sanford on Sunday and he has just rang the airport who said that as far as they were aware all flights were running in and out of Orlando - UK.

We came home Wednesday having been delayed due to the hurricane !

Hi Florry,
Just a quick question, was everything open when you were there, or was all the night shows shut and the restaurants the same? I have a couple of young kids and Im worried that if we take them there they will have a really bad time and we won't be able to get AC in our villa etc.

Thanks
Azune

Everything closed on Saturday afternoon. Some shops stayed open later and as soon as the wind was too bad they apparently close. Also there was a curfew from 8pm on Saturday. Sunday was quite bad and again there was a curfew. We stayed in our hotel (AKL). My son was staying at the Travelodge Maingate East on the US 192. He was able to phone us and from what he said it was much worse where he was.

Sunday evening they announced that Magic Kingdom and Epcot would be open on Monday as would Universal and Sea World.

Monday am we collected the youngsters from their hotel and boy did we see some damage ! we took them off to Universal. We went onto I drive to do a bit of last minute shopping and most of the shops were open with the exception of one or two who had their roofs blown off. All the restaurants were open.
When we collected DS and Girly from Universal they said the park was empty so got on everything twice !
After dropping them off home at 3pm we headed for MK it was brilliant - no people everything open and no sign of any damage. Got the ferryboat back to the car park and sat and watched wishes for the third time from the quay side. It was a beautiful evening - you honestly would not have known that 24 hours previous Frances had passed through.
If you are not going for another 2 weeks I'm sure everything will fine. Get over this weekend to see what Ivan is up to, keep everything crossed that he blows back out to sea.
