My DS and I are planning to go to Japan for the Olympics. While there we'e like to experience Disneyland and DisneySea in Tokyo. Anyone have any info or advice?
Tokyo is Disney Collection. Your points have to be direct, and there is an exchange fee. Point rates are somewhat steep. I would definitely check cash deals and exchange rate for yen to compare the value.
Also, Adventures By Disney has a very popular trip to Japan. It is currently sold out, but the things they see on the itinerary may give you some ideas. They stay at the top of the line hotels near Tokyo Disney.
Definitely rent your points and pay cash for the hotel- you'll get far more value doing that. The Disneyland Hotel and MiraCosta (built into DisneySea) are both exceptional, but so is the Sheraton which is also on the monorail loop, recently gut renovated, and 1/3 the cost of the Disney hotels.

Lovely, by the the Beauty anf the Best new land will be ready. Brace yourself for crowds, they'll be brutal, and avoid week ends at all costs. Staying onsite for that period can be great given you can enter the parks 15 minutes earlier, which doesn't seem much but it can make a difference. I cannot comment on on site hotels, but the Sheraton was very nice and a great deal.
If you use YouTube, you should definitely check out TheTimTracker, he is a very active and detailed blogger. He blogs daily, mostly either at Disney or Universal properties. He went to Tokyo Disney with his wife earlier this summer, and they posted several long videos about their trip. It is a must-see for people going to Tokyo Disney.
