We went OGT for our next trip and just got room assignments. Location looks awesome but reviews say it gets a lot of kitchen noise. Curious if anyone has seen bad reviews for their room but still have a pleasant trip.

Or.... is it one of those gems that people say is bad so it's always available for them to book?

My only experience was a room where there was a water pipe on the balcony. A previous reviewer noted and complained a little about it. Honestly, if I hadn't read the review, I wouldn't even have noticed the pipe. So maybe some things are subjective. Not sure how subjective kitchen noise is, but it may depend on your hearing and how much time you spend in the room.

We had a cabin under the kitchen on the Wonder and it kept me awake. I am a very light sleeper and can't sleep if there's any noises. Didn't bother my dh or dd though. Take ear plugs or a sound machine, that's what we do when we travel.

I think I know which room that is... we had it too. There's a "dish elevator" right above the room where they bring all the dishes down from the aft dining rooms and boy, it's noisy around 0300. We complained a couple of times and ended up getting moved. However, as the previous poster mentioned, ear plugs or a noise machine would probably have done the trick too.

To clarify, it wasn't THAT noisy, it's just that the rooms are SO quiet. So be prepared... :-)

Cheers!

I have had good experiences in rooms with bad reviews. I think it depends on what the review is, and how much that item will bother you. I'm guessing you can't do anything about your room assignment at this point, so the best you can do is be prepared. Earplugs and a noise machine in case there really is kitchen noise. It's the best you can do at this point.

We have a "kitchen noise" room assigned for our next cruise and I'll admit I'm a little concerned, but I also had a friend who stayed in that same room who said she heard nothing so who knows.

I did have a room that had reviews of noise (which was apparently vacuuming of Azure late at night and the vacuum bumping up against all the chairs in there). Well, we heard absolutely nothing. We stayed in that room again on another trip and again...nothing. So who knows.
