I am looking to obtain a AAA/CAA diamond parking pass for WDW 2010.

If you have one let me know.

Thanks:worship:

Check with your local AAA office. A few will give them to any member who asks. Some will give them to a member who purchases park passes. Many (most?) will only give them to a member who books a package.

The passes aren't transferable.

Usually I book through CAA, but this time I was in a rush, and didn't.

I will call to see if I can get one.

Thanks.

The vast majority of AAA offices offer the AAA parking pass to those who have purchased either a package, tickets, or just room only. There may be an office or two out there that will just give a member the pass, but there aren't too many. That would defeat the purpose of offering them...AAA wants people to buy their vacation stuff through them.
Because AAA passes are not transferrable it makes little sense to try to buy one somewhere. AAA is closing that loophole.

I got one for a trip eight years ago.

Its really only worth it for parking at Epcot. And only a little better.

At MK and MGM there is no tram service to the Diamond lots and it ends up being less desirable parking. I'm not sure about AK.

We had the CAA/AAA pass in 07 used it at all parks....very pleased.

I simply held the pass out the window...got directed to the dimond lanes...and stuck it on dash...HOW are they tightening the transportability of these????

We only use our pass at AK and it is a much better parking location than taking the bus from the resort. That being said, AAA is trying to stop the passes being passed around as the last trip we booked the pass has our names and trip dates on it. It was only valid for that timeframe and not for the whole year like in the past. Also, when we went to AK it was the first time that they really looked at the pass at the parking entrance and then there was another attendant just before the entrance to the AAA spot that checked our pass very carefully.

The new passes are being implemented with dates of travel and the members name. The old passes will be invalid in the future and the passes will be looked at much closer.

Transferring is strictly prohibited as stated on the passes.

Since the generic passes have the year on them, I suspect that it will be next year at the earliest before they move to date-specific/daily passes exclusively. But I am curious about what mine will look like when I pick them (or it?) up in a couple of weeks. (I'm not sure what I'll be getting because I have a room & DxDP package in June and I'm buying a 6-day MYW pass for my MIL for our trip in August, so she's giving me the pass for that trip, too.)

That said, I'm not sure if they will move to more restrictive passes completely - I think they like the flexibility of being able to give out the passes to people as an incentive.

Not quite.

My local AAA office (serving Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, E. Kansas, S. Illinois, S. Indiana & Texarkana, TX) told me that you must purchase a Disney package through them.

Of course, this "policy" may vary at other auto clubs in the U.S./Canada...

Why did you only quote one sentance from my post? I went on to say

Your point confirms, not contradicts my post. Kind of rude.
