Just curious if SW ever has low fares for holiday weekends like that??? We have flown them twice.....but the end of Jan. each time. I got great deals then. We are thinking of maybe a quick trip down maybe over that weekend in Sept. Of course if SW is high....we will probably not go. Thanks.

I flew SW out of BWI last year leaving the Monday before LD and returning the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. First - I booked my return Sunday flight at $79. Then I waited until my out bound flight was $69 and booked that. Then they offered a $59 internet special, so I rebooked both flights and took the credit. Finally, about 2 -3 weeks before we left, I rebooked the outbound flight with a ding for $49. I couldn't get a ding on the return flight.

So - to answer your question - SW does have cheap flights during that time period, but you have to wait and wait to get them. It was a pain, honestly, but I was determined.

I ended up with a $120 credit, which I already applied to flights to Denver over spring break.

I am going again this year - returning Saturday. Once thes $79 each way comes out, I will book and I just might stick with it there since I am going Sunday to Saturday.

I have flown over LD several times. Generally the cheap fares come out in July after the 4th. This past year was just a very slow wait!

ps.

air tran has $82 each way out of BWI right now. That isn't bad, but BWI is not my closest airport. All the non stop flights are pretty open. If I can get that same rate out of PHL, I will book. I can get my DH to drive me and pick me up. That will save at least 50-60 bucks on parking!

So right now I only plan to fly out of BWI if I can get a really good deal that will cover parking costs.

We have flown around many holidays This year alone Flew back on July2nd ,Oct31st and Dec 22nd.

We have had great luck out BWI as well and ended up with most ranging from the same $43 to $69 is the most we ended up paying and they were for Sun flights that never seem discounted.

I just booked June and Aug all for $79 each way and will hope for them to go down just like the rest have done.

We have flown out on Airtran also. I always check them too. Thanks.
