Anyone Game? 2 Castles and a Road Trip TR! Last Day and TR Wrap Up! #2796; 10/01

Crystal Palace was our absolute fav for breakfast! Even when my son was in HS always requested it even though he did not like characters.

Love this update! I adore CP in MK but only done dinner. The breakfast lasagne sounds yummy. I always hit the kiddies food I love the Mickey waffles lol. In Chef Mickey's they had breakfast Pizza which was PB & J on it. That was divine! I love PB & J :-)

You say queue not 'line' too :-)

Love your Mickey photo's now my head is spinning as Photopass+ is now Memory maker or something!

Shame about autograph book. I did that on my birthday meeting the princesses so just FP+ them again!

Love the topiary don't think I ever tire of seeing those. Aren't they just amazing? Happy birthday DH!

I had a very unfortunate experience with Tigger. I know I should have complained but I was so embarrassed at the time. Let's just say he use to be one of my fav characters and now I have a phobia! I did a photo with Tigger one year and his paws went wondering...

I was laughing about the butt grab too. :rotfl2:

I really like CP for breakfast and I'm not a huge buffet person. Looks like a great start to the day!

Breakfast at Crystal Palace looked amazing. We have only ever done lunch and dinner. I think I may have to schedule breakfast the next time we go.

Did Mickey already talk when you were there?

Corinna

i was wondering this also. He was mute in October...

I just have nothing appropriate to say about this picture.

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

OK THEN!! Lovely update! Crystal Palace is one of my very favorite places to eat; our family has had some great character interaction there.

And I don't think I'm going to spring for the PhotoPass CD for my trip, but I really do want to find more character meet places this time around. I only ever seem to stumble upon them!

.

An excellent start to your day!

:thumbsup2

::yes:: I find a character breakfast the best way to kick-start a Disney vacay.

The fun morning continues :) I've never eaten at CP so always enjoy seeing photos. Love the big smiles with the characters :)

I totally understand about feeling sad. This vacation you've put so much time and energy in planning and looking forward to is finally here but that also means it's going to be over. It might feel silly but I totally understand.

Thanks. We all had a great time at breakfast; even DH couldn't stop smiling.

A great way to start your day at the MK by eating at the Crystal Palace. I haven't eaten at the CP and seeing those pictures want me to eat there one day. You all look so lively during the character M&G that morning. The breakfast looks very appetizing.

Great update.

I've now experienced breakfast and dinner (twice) at CP. The food's decent enough; and when you throw in the characters, it really is a great experience.

Ahhh! Yes! That is it! Thank you!

There ya go! There's your Inner Mouse!

Okay... Please don't tease the animals...

:)

Jud

Where's the fun in NOT teasing (gently) the animals??

Jealous! If there's one thing that will make me go to WDW one day, it is breakfast at Crystal Palace! Piglet is my absolute favourite, and he is so hard to find :worried:

The food looks pretty good too.

Piglet is so cute! Nice to catch him in person here.

It's all coming back to me now. I had planned out our days using my practical brain rather than my emotional one. :)

We had 5 nights in BWV followed by 6 nights in AKV. I was determined to see as much of HS and Epcot as possible while we were staying so close. EPCOT wasn't an option for that first day as it was the first weekend (Saturday) of the F&W and Epcot was apparently crazy busy. I dismissed AK as an option as I saved all our AK visits for when we were sleeping 5 minutes away. And lastly, I dismissed MK since we had tickets for MNSSHP the following day (Sunday). That left HS.
I knew there was a method to my madness :thumbsup2

If I went back to WDW and decided to be more emotional and less practical, I'd probably go to AK first. I know it's not everyone's top choice of park, but I loved everything about it, particularly the theming.

Love your CP updates. It's such a lovely, happy place to have breakfast. If I went back, it's one of only 3 ADRs (along with Biergarten and 50's Primetime) that I would absolutely insist on repeating. (All 3 for the atmosphere and overall experience as opposed to the quality of the food).

Ah, the memories. Thanks for helping bring them back. :)

As for my TR, I feel so bad it's come to a bit of an abrupt stop. For some reason writing it has become a bit of a chore. I'm hoping a sudden rush of excitement will bring me back to it. Maybe your TR will help :thumbsup2

Thanks!

No rush on your TR. I know how it feels to not want to do any writing.

We've only done Crystal Palace for Lunch, but I have loved it. Breakfast looks lovely too! We Love the pooh characters so this is a great fit for us! I'm so glad you had great time!

It doesn't have strawberry soup; but I think you and Fran would like it here for breakfast.

Crystal Palace was our absolute fav for breakfast! Even when my son was in HS always requested it even though he did not like characters.

I think it's becoming one of my favourites as well. Nothing beats a good breakfast, character interaction and early entry into the park. :thumbsup2

That's a shame about Tigger. Never thought he had roving paws. :(

It was a shame about the autograph book; but he did have a set from 2005 in there. Oh well, it'll be something to come back for.

Yes, queue; not line (although I do try to get into the American venacular when I can).

Did Mickey already talk when you were there?

Corinna

No. :headache:

But let's just say that it was a classic experience.

i was wondering this also. He was mute in October...

Yup. This was the last day of September. He was mute then as well.

Mickey talks now? That would be weird :confused3

I wonder how it would be to have him just talk in that voice.

Has anyone reading heard him?

Why jealous- cause DH is grabbing Mickey's butt??? :rotfl2:

:)

Jud

Yes, I'm JEALOUS that DH is grabbing Mickey's butt. That should be me :furious: (grabbing Mickey's butt) :teeth:

Jud, that is what I thought too, why is DH coping a feel of Mickey?

Brandi

:rotfl:

Believe it or not, this was a case of right click at the right time. DH was trying to put that bag down and it looks like he's giving Mickey a nice old checking out, doesn't it.

It was definitely a lot more pragmatic in real life.

I was laughing about the butt grab too. :rotfl2:

Thanks Jill. I did wonder if anyone would say anything as I was posting that picture. :rotfl2:

Let's try and keep this family friendly. :lmao:

I guess it depends on how long you're going to be there and if you're going to get the value out of the PP service.

We were there for 7 days and between us finding the photographers and the M&G and claiming our ride pictures, it probably worked out great for us. (I think we ended up with over 200 shots over the 7 days - remember many of them were multiples in the same place - and my edits for borders, signatures and the various sizes, I think I ended up with over 600 pictures in my CD). I was looking at the pictures we got and I think I would have sprung to buy at least 2 of the ride pictures; and we did get a lot more family shots using this service than if we had taken them with our camera.

YMMV.

O crystal palace. How I love thee. I am so excited to get back there. I could use that food right now. I'm starving! I'm glad you got to be in the Mickey picture! He is so much fun!!

I wonder how it would be to have him just talk in that voice.

Has anyone reading heard him?

He was talking when I visited him in December. I was very dubious about this when I first read that Mickey was going to talk, but it was a truly magical experience.

Corinna

Wow such great PP shots on a very empty Main Street :thumbsup2 Glad the sadness melted away at that point!

Need to get my booty to CP. I'm a HUGE fan of breakfast foods, DH - not so much. We rarely get to go to breakfast restaurants because he'd rather spend the money on lunch or dinner and do quick service type breakfasts, but i'll get him here someday!

All caught up again. Loving the WDW part of the TR - a breaky at CP with my fave friends is definitely on the repeat list - I just have to work out the dates I want be there and get booking!

Thanks. Breakfast at CP; followed by Mickey time was the perfect start to the day.

Hmm. Sounds like it is something I'm going to have to wait to experience. Thanks for the feedback.

I hope you do get DH to CP. It was a great overall experience.

I was very happy with most of my PP shots from this trip. :thumbsup2

YAY! A trip to WDW for you. Looking forward to hearing all your details.

Strolling through my Neighbourhood - Castles in the Air

At close on 10 am, it was a different looking Main Street we came out to.

We hoofed it down to the Hub and were pretty glad that we had gotten our relatively empty Main Street shots earlier in the morning.

I took the opportunity to check out my castle. Hands off everyone. It really is MINE! (But I'm happy to share)

Yes, I know. I'm really inconveniencing everyone else by having some home reno's and that crane. But every homeowner will tell you that you do need to keep up with the maintenance every so often otherwise the property will deteriorate.

DH and DS were happy to be back as well. It's been a while since we've been here.

I'm really rather house-proud of my castle in the air!

We walked past the kiddie’s playground in the backyard. Sadly, DS has definitely outgrown this section.

I'd heard that the neighbours have also decided to build as well and was curious to see what they had done.

Look at all those copy-cats in the neighbourhood. It's not as pretty as mine; but it's rather nice castle in the air.

With the watch guard on duty, this was about as close as I was getting to checking out the new neighbours this visit.

I'll have to get some popcorn to bring with me next time I'm here to welcome them to the neighbourhood. Maybe that'll get me past the watch guard.

We walked a little bit along and wouldn't you know it? Look what we found!
It's a veritable flock of castles in the air here. Sure seems to have been a bit of home renovation and construction since I was last here! I guess imitation really is the sincerest form of flattery.

Come Sea! I've gatecrashed another Party

Unlike the other neighbour, the owner of this particular castle seemed to welcome us in.

I took note of the landscaping. There's no jungle here....so it must be the front side of the waterfall.

The landscape was fantastic. I wondered how I could retrofit it in my castle?

Must be a party going on here. I've already gatecrashed one party on this trip when I was in San Diego; what’s another one, right?

There was a musician playing to welcome the guests.

They did hand out party bags at the start.

It's a thingamabob inside! Nice. I've always wanted one of those.

I'm sure this was a party game of sort. It looked like Whack-a-Duck to me; only I couldn't find the whacker. Hmmm.....on second thought....maybe it was I Spy instead.

This guy came up to say hello. He said he was a long lost friend of mine. Don’t anyone tell him; but I didn't remember him at all!

It was such a fun party, it didn't take long for everyone to come out of their shells.

Our hostess was very gracious. Even though she didn't know who I was, she didn't throw me out when we met.

But it wasn't all froth and light in here. There were some dubious guests present.

I initially thought there was something distinctively fishy about this guest.

My mistake. It was just Madame Ursula doing some Fortune Telling.

Our host turned out to be a magical party gal!

But she did insist on keeping this hunk all to herself.

There was a rather nice buffet. There was lobster on the menu. Just as well I was still full from breakfast.

I liked that there was musicians in almost every room to keep things flowing along!

And then I figured it out. I gatecrashed her wedding! No wonder the hunk was 'hands off'.

Her father presided over the ceremony. He's a rather regal looking fella.

And it was a very romantic kiss they shared at the end of the night! Awww.

It had been nice to share a wedding on this trip. But it was time for us to fly.

One final wave goodbye to our bride.

I think she'll be rather happy in her new home. Thanks for sharing part of your world with me.

Love love love this ride! A lot of folks said it was disappointing but being a massive The Little Mermaid fan we thought it was delightful. Those little clam shells! You should see the disabled clam shell the way it opens so clever!

No meeting with Ariel? Oh PIO you missed a treat...
