Anyone for the Western cruise 4/9/05???

I was born and raised in Pennsylvania, but I call Maryland home even though I don't live there now. We moved to New Jersey last September.

My mom lives in Florida, she's about an hour west of Disney. If her husband is well enough to travel, they're going to see us off at Cape Canaveral.

Airline tickets are about to be bought, they went on sale for a few places (although not ours...big suprise) *checks the clock* yep...just about midnight of the 22nd...only a few hours

What the heck is up with our countdown clocks?

Turk- I don't understand are you waiting on sale priced tickets?

We were waiting for sle priced tickets, but my mom said she'd by them by the 22nd (and i had mentioned earlier in the board about it being midnight on the 22nd she would buy them). But our tickets didnt go on the sale prices, although we got a nice discount for having 10 people now so they're all bought, be arriving on the 8th at about 11:45(I cant rember the exact time) most of my family is gonna go to Islands of Adventure for the day, Me, Mom, Brother and probably Sister are gonna go to a waterpark and do whatever, We're only going to the waterparks because we have extra plus options from old trips. Probably gonna nap first thing is my choice, we have to be at the airport by 4:00 so we'll all be up @ 3:00 am :earseek: I'm going to sleep on that plane and the layover, and the next plane in :cloud9: I'm a heavy sleeper, and we're gonna be up late EVERY night and up early EVERY morning(have to get breakfast you know) not to mention i have school that thursday so I'll be up at 6:00 and probably wont make it to bed until 10 (not to mention my mom wants 2 make me go to work that night :sad2: ) well, I still cant wait!

only 44 more days!!!! :hourglass

No more html for now. There's a thread about this on the cruise forum.

wow, loks like it just got fixed as i went to read your post your pics appeared again yazze, although yours are the only ones back right now =P

Hey, Turk. I'd lie to you and say I was special but I'm not. I don't know about the pictures since I didn't know they were gone, but for my tickers I had to remove the HTML code and replace it with an alternative code that was on www.tickerfactory.com and www.lilypie.com

Co-op classes were cancelled this afternoon due to the snow, so I sat down and read this entire thread. I think I retained about 50% of it. LOL. A couple of you are have rooms on the same deck as us on deck 2. Also, I can't keep track of who's doing the halfday excursion to Stingray City with Captain Marvin.

We're driving to Florida instead of flying. So, today is the 6 week point for us.

What rooms are you in, i rember ours is *pulls out deck plans*2537,2539 and the 1 on deck 5(which now has my 2 oldest brothers & his friend), myabe our rooms are *realy* close, and if anyone has rooms 2071,2073...I love those rooms, they were right next 2 the midship-elevators which was awsome, now were right next to the Forward Elevators *cant wait*

We're in 2088 and 2090. I imagine these are not the greatest rooms since we booked late and that's what was left. We're almost across the hall from the laundry room.

Monica,

Any room on a cruise is a good one! We are rarely in the stateroom save to watch movies and sleep. We had balconies on the last three cruises and probably spent a total of 3.5 - 4 hours on them. My frugal self computed that it probably cost us upwards of $300. per hour for the additional cost. Yikes!

I grew up in Maryland -- Frederick and Hagerstown. We lived in CT before moving to FL and Daniela would love to be back north in the snow.

Will you do the drive to FL in 2 days?

Joni (Daniela's mom)

Small world. I just moved from Frederick. I swore I'd never live in Middletown, and that's exactly where I wound up and loved it more than any place I've ever lived.

On another note: THere are people in the chatroom!!!

We are in 2022. My oldest DS hasn't had time to watch the Disney video yet. He's going to try and watch this morning. I think I'm still more excited than my kids.I think after my DS has his B'day sleepover tonight I'll pull down the suitcases and start to pack some of the clothes and extras that we will need. I did buy some ginger at the health food store yesterday. They say it helps with sea sickness. I have had problems before on a night cruise to nowhere. Hope this helps if needed. Anyone that has been on a cruise have any problems with sickness?

Count us in on the 4/9. I'm traveling with my DH, DS - 4-1/2 and DS - 7-1/2.

We can't wait. We just decided to go.

6maddens - when did you cruise in 3/2004? We also cruised during March. We were on the 3/6 Eastern. Maybe we sailed together before? Wouldn't that be a coincidence!

How many days do we have to go? It won't come fast enough for me!

:wave2: Time is not going fast enough for me either!!

Six weeks from today we will be heading to Port Canaveral. It is time to start going through dd's clothes to see what still fits from last summer!

I am trying to plan our budget. I don't know how much $$ to plan on spending. I know I will need $100 for travel down. I will need $70 for port parking. But, what I can't estimate is how much I will spend on the ship or in the port!

Since my dh hit the deer and we have had to pay to have his car fixed (more disney dollars!) our extras will be slim! I wonder how little I can spend???

Any experience there? For those of you that have cruised, how little have you spent onboard??

Hope

Well....my 2cents on saving $$ on board

1) excursions add up.....try doing the ports on your own

2) stay out of the shops until the last day (don't even walk by) and set a budget per person

3) don't drink alcohol (bring your own and keep it in the stateroom) and get sodas only at meal time in the restaurants

4) plan tips in advance and put them in envelopes before your trip so this doesn't have to come out of the onboard kitty

5) stay away from Bingo!

6) don't buy bottled water

if you do these things your onboard charges will be next to nothing. Only other thing you will spend money on is eating at Palo (it is well worth it)

Hi, Evansfamily,

More boys! Yeah! My younger son, Spencer, turns eight in the beginning of June. My daughter will turn 4 next week. If you'd like to help your younger son email my son, I'm sure Spencer would like it. He was thrilled to email with Jill's son.

As for spending, at first I had all kinds of ideas about the spa, excursions at port and at C.C., but I wrote them all down, added them all up, and I changed my tune. If you want to laugh, here was my original idea and how it changed.

*family of five = deluxe family room with veranda.
*family of five = 2 rooms in category 9

*pedicure, manicure, couples cabana massage, one massage for me on board.
*maybe couples cabana massage, pedicure locallly before the cruise, do my own nails.

*DCL excursions in all ports and on CC.
*booked Stingray City and a dune buggy tour myself. Not getting off the ship in Key West. Bikes on C.C.

*New clothes for the trip
*get by with what we own.
