DBF - My boyfriend, forever to be known as Grumpy from this point forward. (He's threatened to kick me out if he has to hear me talk about WDW for the next 262 days straight!)
DN1 - My eldest nephew, 11. This is a surprise trip and I'm worried that he won't feel the magic quite the way I did at that age. At least the thrill rides will keep him entertained.
DN2 - My youngest nephew, 8. He has no idea we're going, but he's been saving up to buy us a trip since we looked online together and saw how much it was going to cost. This will be him when we get to the airport that morning and we tell them where we're going - .
Me - Absolutely obsessed with planning this trip. These boys have had a hard life at such young ages that they deserve the best ever trip to the happiest place on earth!! I'm determined to make that happen for them.
Howwwdy!!! Im going from December 11th-19th and I will be staying at Disney's Polynesian Resort. Come pop on by my pre-trip so we can all plan together!!
This will be our 2nd time at Christmas. Stayed at CB in 2005 when DS was 16 months - LOVED it. Have wanted to do Christmas again ever since. Went in April 2007 and we weren't supposed to go again until 2009 but DS & I twisted DH's arm (& leg) into Christmas 2008 instead. We will be staying at OKW in a studio. We got a FABULOUS deal by renting points. We are paying only $50 more total for 7 nights at OKW than we would have for 7 nights at ASMo!! I have learned my lesson - renting points from a DVC owner is the way to go!! We also went to MVMCP in 2005. It was OK - we are debating whether to spend the extra $$ to go again this year or not. Haven't decided.
You must be hysterical about your upcoming trip! It seems as though December is coming rather quickly. I honestly thought that it was still the first week of march, but it's the last!! That means that there is only 2 months until June 1st which is when the December hours come out, and the time when most of us can book our ADR's-throughout the month of June.
We have been having a toss up as to where to stay. We have ressies for 2 different places- one is off site at a condo rental.
I also have ressies on hold (must let them know by March 31st) to the Pop for 10 nights- Dec 7-17th.
The price for staying on site and off is really about the same - $100 difference. (which is worth it for the convenience) The issues come in with the dining- if we stay off site we have a full kitchen and can go to the store and buy stuff to make our meals (less convenient). Or we can stay on site and buy the dining plan, which is rather pricey. We would be paying for 4 adults, and 2 kids.
I think I just need to do the DDP and not discuss the amount with hubby, but I feel deceptive doing that.
