We filed ours this past Monday, but it said that they do not open until Jan. 16. For some reason it said that when we file that we will be getting extra back since something changed in our situation since last year. We have no idea what it is, but it said it was for a little over $300. I think it will be separate from the tax refund on 1/30 since it was not added in. Guess we have to wait and see what happens.

TT told me the same thing... We are getting an additional 600! My gut tells me it is because we made 10,000+ more than last year which would have a raised our taxable income and made eligible for more of the stimulus of 2007?

I am all ready to file - just need DH's military W2 - hoping it comes before he leaves for Iraq.....

Can't you go onto DFAS mypay and print it? I printed DH's W2 from MyPay last week for his military W2. I have always printed it, and never gotten a copy in the mail.

This is correct I have already printed Dh and so far it is the only W-2 that we have gotten you just need to have DH sign in and access the info print it off and done will take thrre minutes!

I have never done our taxes. My dad has a friend who was an accountant and had always done them for 40.00, however he never signed them... Last year I got a refund, then a letter saying we owed 1700.00 from 2006!!! I went through and he applied my dh's retirement payment to taxes paid which was a mistake so I sent them the check .

I honestly do not know what to do this year, I may have to get an accountant who will sign the taxes but I have NO clue what they charge....
I'd try to do them myself except dh collects some non-taxed income because of a disability retirement and I have NO clue how any of that works....

Active Duty? My DH's are showing that his won't be available until no later than Jan. 23rd and when I checked yesterday it still wasn't up. His National Guard one has been there for awhile, but not active duty, they're the last ones up. I guess I need to check again.

Here is CA. if you are getting a state refund it is supposed to be in the form of an "IOU"... NICE!

I haven't gotten a refund in years , if only I could send the state an IOU ...

Ugh..I feel the PP on not wanting to pay out the butt for H&R Block. I had to go back since I did their loan they offered in November. I wanted to make sure it was all taken care of. Well, it cost me $292 just to do my taxes. I have gone there every year, but never again. Its ridiculous!

I received my mortgage interest statement and my DD's savings account interest statement. Nothing else yet.

You know what! I just logged in and mine hasn't been accepted by the IRS yet either, oops!! Hopefully today! I filed on Friday. I know it says it must be accepted by the 22nd for the 30th deposit date, so I think we're good.

Oh good, I filed on the 15th but mine still says "pending". I really was looking forward to getting that direct deposit on the 30th. I have 1/3 for savings, 1/3 to pay off our Spring break trip & the other 1/3 for a couch & sofa (ours is too old). Now just looking for a good deal on furniture ! I don't want to spend an arm & a leg !

nope- have only received one w2- I have 4 more to go and our mortgage interest statement. Not that it matters since I will wait till 4/15 to file since we owe since one of my jobs is self employment )and that negates our refund. so no hurry in this house..

Did ours via TurboTax on the 12th - still says pending. I am not really expecting to hear anything until Tuesday - I don't know if they work weekends (doubt it) and definitely not tomorrow. Still hoping for that Jan 30 direct deposit.

They do work weekends FYI. There is a service center in my area and they work at night and on weekends.

Not yet since we are waiting for DH's W-2. I got mine with our 1st paycheck of 2009 (1/15) - gotta love our P/R dept!

Mortgage statement came on Wednesday, Hubby gets his w-2 the first weekday of January online at work, and I got mine online last week. Online W-2's rock!!

Thanks for the tip about filing an amended return if obama passes new tax credits.

We are paying off a credit card, saving some, and paying 1/2 of our summer WDW vacation.

We've only gotten a few statements yet, the banks seem to be a little slower this year. We've gotten 3 interest stmt. and a couple that said they would arrive by 1-31.

Hmm Ours for Active Duty was always up in the beginning of Jan. He's a reservist right now so I guess I would keep checking every day although I don't recall him getting 2 w-2 when he got off active duty and went back to reserve it was all on one w-2...
