Anyone file their taxes yet?

I tried Turbo Tax for the first time and it rejected me saying that my birthday was wrong . Oh well maybe it is a sign that I need to take it and pay that few extra dollars to make sure it is done right. I have until April to pay off my Disney trip so I am not going to freak out over it.

Filed mine last week and IRS already accepted the return. I got an email saying that I should have it direct deposit by the 30th... we'll see.

My husband(full-time fabricator) works his part time job as a tax preparer for H & R Bloch and he's plugged in both of our W2's and child tax credits but alas it won't be complete until we get our interest paid information for our mortgage and that usually doesn't come until the end of the month. However, so far with what he's already put in we'll be getting a refund that will more than pay for our May Disney vaca. I'm hoping with our mortgage documents that we'll get some extra cash to get us enough summer clothes and shoes to get thru the entire summer. It's so nice to have new things for vacation.

I usually use esmarttax dot com, and this year you HAVE to have your last years AGI or pin and for some reason I can pull up '05 and '06, but not '07, so I've been on hold with the IRS for 30 minutes to get my AGI. I got my W2 from my job I left in Feb, just waiting on the one from my current job. I entered in my last paystub of the year just to get an estimate. I'm trying out turbotax this year and so far it matches perfect to esmarttax on my numbers. The day I get my W2, I'm ready to file .

we rarely get w-2s before end of january & just a few other docs tricking in, behind schedule for us typically have a refund back by early Feb...most earmarked for travel

with the lousy interest rates in savings accounts no stressin re the extra withholding for me, i figure im helping out uncle sam & getting a chuck of change that i'd spend every week on something else lol

No! Still waiting on both w2's. DH's company always mails on 1/31 but my company is usually pretty good about getting them out quickly. Not this year. Oh well, have to wait for DH's anyway so I guess it doesn't matter if mine is late too!

I would LOVE to do our taxes now. The newest tax deduction arrived Dec 23, just in time for Christmas, so we should get a pretty good tax return. The baby wasn't actually due until the middle of Jan, so she was an unexpected extra deduction. However, we haven't received any documents yet to do our taxes.

Congradultions don't for get to apply for her SS# you will need it to file.

Yes, I know I should e-file. I could even do it free. However, I don't have last years taxes with me and I just want this DONE.

I took a $15K paycut when I took my current position in late 2007. It didn't show up much on last year's taxes. This year I'm getting a huge refund...and probably a letter telling me they're sad I'm so poor now. For the first time ever I qualified for EIC!!!!

The unexpected windfall? We are now officially heading for Disneyland this May!

We got hubbies W-2 this morning, so i got up bright and early and filed. We should our refund just in time to stock up on diapers for our two new additions. OH BOY!

We are still waiting on forms. Last year I had all mine back by the end of Jan. This year it looks like it will be mid Feb.

I got my W2s on the 16th and filed THAT NIGHT! I will have enough to pay off my CC and put down the deposit I need for our wedding reception venue!!! Thank you Lifetime Learning Credit and '08 Stimulus Check I didn't get last year but qualify for now!!!

I got really lucky.... I had THREE different mortgage carriers last year (refi'd a goofy split mort), paid off my student loan - then my W2 from work. Magically, I got two of the mortgages in the mail, the student loan paperwork - the other mortgage was online... and Monday I realized that my W2 was available online!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So. I e-filed. Monday. Deluxe. Oh, yes I did - I'll pay for it because I need TurboTax to tell me what to do.

Got the email this morning that the federal was accepted and should direct deposit no later than Jan 30th.

Which is FABULOUS, because I fly to Disney on the 31st!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SCHBR'smom Congrats! My DD 4 bday is the same day! She too was due in the middle of Jan the 15th I believe. Thankfully she came early. Just in time for presents

I filed ours last night. Ours will be going towards the auto train for Disney in September and my husband's tracking box for hunting. Then our state refund will go to bills.
I'm just happy we didn't have to pay in!!!
