Anyone feel panicky while cruising?

Just got off the Wonder yesterday. I had the same feelings as you. It's pretty evident in my pre-cruise post! haha

If it helps any to know--- I loved it. I have had panic attacks in the past, so I was really freaked out. Mainly about being stuck in the ocean. But at night I would look out of our varanda and look at the most beautiful dark blue water. The wake of the ship cause a trail of turquoise. It was so tranquil and peaceful. I feel grateful for being able to experience this. So once I boarded and realized how lucky I was, I exhaled and enjoyed myself. NEVER once was I scared.

Good luck and enjoy your trip!!

I am very nervous about getting off the ship at ports of call except CC,so after 5 cruises I just stay on the ship. :cool1:

I too hate to fly and have your typical panic attacks such as "being too far away" or "too far for help to get to you". With all the modern technology, you'll be just fine. As for the plane, just remember that you WANT to get to "Point B"!!! If I like where I'm going, I'm fine on the plane. The in-laws in Maine....well that's a different story... :lmao:

I've heard nothing but amazingly positive reviews from everyone on here. It sounds like you'll have a blast!! :thumbsup2

Honestly - more people die in the bathub, crossing the street and stuck by lightning each year than are killed in airplanes.

Bacon - is one of the most carcinogenic foods we eat - guaranteed it causes thousands of cancer deaths a year. Eggs - cholesterol bombs.... ain't stopped anyoione from eating breakfast??

Chocolate is up to 6% lead, does that stop anyone from eating it?

35,000 People a year are killed in car crashes each year, but driving is considered safe and flying isn't?????

Not me, I'm eating a bacon and chocolate sandwich on the plane flying to Europe for my Med cruise.... and then I'm renting a car and driving on the wrong side of the road from Paris to Barcelona. Hopefully in a thunderstorm!

Can't wait!!!!

Yee Ha!

I'm glad to hear that you feel safe because that's another thing... we'll have a 2 year old with us and he's my life. I don't want to constantly have to worry about him falling off the ship.

Thanks again!

This is a very real fear that most of us mothers have. Here's a little comfort: It is easy to keep him away from the railings. There is a lot to do inside and he can look out lovely windows that don't open if he wants. Also, the ship is BIG. When out on the decks, there is a lot of space that is not near the sides of the ship. Keeping a close eye on him should be sufficient.

Relax and enjoy...

You have a much greater risk of being killed by slipping in the bathtub, being hit by lightning, struck by a falling coconut ( more people are killed each year by falling coconuts than in shark attacks) than ever getting into trouble on a cruise ship.

I had no idea! Well, add one more thing to the list of things to be afraid of.
