anyone ever shared a site?

When reading that a tent and a pop up can be on the same site, dh asked outloud if maybe anyone that is tent camping would be willing to share their site with our pop-up?
Has anyone ever had any experience with this? good idea/bad idea?

I've shared a site with multiple folks before. Mostly folks I already knew. In October, I'll be in the MOUSE-KE-T@B and some friends will be on the same site in a tent. One trip, I did share a site with another person I had met only on the rec.arts.disney.parks usenet group. However, folks that I had already personally met and trusted, had also personally met this person, so I felt perfectly safe in doing so. That is the neat thing about the campground. You can "share" the site with folks that you would never consider sharing a hotel room with.
