Anyone ever have the characters autograph t-shirts instead of books?

We also did the baseball hat signing thing a few years ago, had a Disney hat with some characters already on it and had no problem getting it signed. A couple of the characters used the little ventilation holes at top of house as part of their autograph.

Here's an idea that I read on another thread, people are using the big white stuffed Mickey Gloves they sell to get the characters signatures. My daughter will love this, she already has 7 autograph books!

It doesn't have to be a Disney shirt! The characters just can't sign next to any non-Disney logos so as not to look as if they are promoting another company. However, if they sign on the back, it's fine.

My DD had the characters sign her flaming pink cast when she was there 2 years ago. When it came time to cut the cast off, the doctor had to cut around Cinderella's autograph. I just found the cast in the back of her closet, wrapped in plastic.

I bought white pillow cases and had my girls names put on them. Then we bought Sharpie pens in different colors and a small piece of cardboard. My girls kept them in zip lock bags in their backpacks. It was a bit of a challenge getting them out each time they saw a character, but well worth it. We had the pillow cases all ready to go when we got up to the characters and they had no problem signing. What a wonderful WDW memento....my girls have about 30 signatures each and refuse to "Use" their pillow cases. We put an extra pillow in the cases and they stay on their beds. Didn't want the names to come off in the wash ..

The book is also a GREAT idea. We had one, but stuck with the pillow cases this time... Ariel loved the book and even read some "jokes" from her section of the book to the folks waiting in line...It was GREAT

I bought two mostly-white Disney t-shirts on my first day on my kid-free trip last year, and had the characters sign them. I did it as a surprise for my DS and DD, and I was enormously excited about it -- I ended up with 29 autographs on each shirt!

I had four fabric pens in different colors, and had them loosely color-coordinated -- villains in red, for example. They turned out wonderfully, although the kids were happier with other souveniers I brought.

I'm planning on doing this for myself on my next trip!!

One thing, to emphasize what AngieBelle said above -- the characters will not sign t-shirts that are being worn. By the way, the way it was done for me was that the handler and I or my friend and I would hold the fabric tightly and tghe character would sign.

We used a large bright orange very wide brim floppy style hat I found at the Gap several years ago to get autographs for my daughter (6 at the time). I have some great pics of the characters playing around with the hat. My daughter has bright red hair (almost orange) and a very fair complexion, so the hat was great since it completely shaded her face. It was very functional for sun protection. I actually had bought two of these in 2002 so we used the second one for our trip last week. We have more autographs now and some more great pictures. The best ones were of the living statue in France/ Italy area. The statue kept pushing the hat down covering her whole face. It was hilarious.
