Anyone ever been to Deerfield Beach, FL?

We are thinking of staying at Embassy Suites- Deerfield Beach after our WDW trip. Is anyone familiar with this area or ES? It's right on the beach and looks pretty nice. Or else any ES or Hampton Inn between West Palm Beach and Ft Lauderdale? I'd prefer to be on the beach, but any ideas will be welcomed. Thanks!!

I've been there and I have a friend who works there.
It's a very nice hotel and it is right on the beach.
It's a little far to walk to the small restaurant and shopping area of Deerfield Beach, but not TOO far.
The other ES would be the one on 17th Street Causeway in Fort Lauderdale. It's not on the ocean.
I'm not sure about Hampton Inns.
