Anyone else worried about fall supplies?

What is up with all the garden shops in stores like Walmart, Costco and RiteAid out of everything (or never got anything in)

allot of areas are seeing a resurgence of home gardening so that has contributed to shortages. add in the folks who have diy'd everything they can think of inside their homes and are now focusing their energy on landscaping so demand is outpacing supply.

OMG I went to the Walmart on Auburn (by Costco) and their sanitizer by the door to wipe down the carts SMELLED@@@@ Unfortunately you didn't smell it until you put it on your hands. It was worse than visiting a cow farm LOL But yes they do have tons of hand sanitizer, tp. I noticed their paper towel shelf was very low. No lysol spray but they did have the lysol cleaner which I also use. No yeast again.

My wife and daughter went to Green Acres nursery yesterday and they were low on inventory too.

A miracle occurred at BJs this morning. The had both lysol AND clorox wipes and staff to guard it. Still only able to get one, not one of each. They had them near the checkout. After I walked around the paper/soap/ trash bags aisle three times , I asked another customer where did she find them.

I want to share something else that happen. I'm waiting in line to pay. A women who looked like she was with her mom/aunt, someone older.......comes back to me and says did you know they had wipes in stock. Then she sees that I had a pack. I have no idea who she was, but that was very nice of her, made the effort for a stranger.

I haven’t seen cases of Fanta Orange and CPlus Orange (which are my DS’s favorites) around here since early April. Only the large bottles. I’ve heard the same about the aluminium can shortage as the reason as they are focusing on only the popular flavors right now.

Exactly. I wrote an email to Coca-Cola asking where my caffine free coke was. I got this today:

Of course bleach and paper towels, which are readily available, will do the same job.

I was at Costco yesterday and they had a pack of three 5L bottles of bleach for $6. I have my own spray bottles. The recommended mixture for disinfectant is 1/4 cup bleach for every 2 1/4 cups of water . It saves me a ton of money on cleaning and no worries about searching high and low for other products .

Dh wants me to work on a three to six month pantry in preparation for a potential second wave. We are a family of five and go through a lot of food. When things were bad here in March, April, May we couldn’t get grocery delivery or pick up times. That meant heading out to the store which we didn’t want to do (high risk group). Once at the store, shelves were empty. Trying to plan ahead so we won’t run into trouble this winter. I have a very large Walmart order for next week. Stocking the pantry will take some time. I’ll start with three months. Six months is a bit overwhelming.

haven't seen any of the pop up containers but if you have any pharmacies around you it might be worth an occasional check in the see if they've gotten any of the little 20 packs. our small pharmacy has always carried them (so standing order) and every once in a while, out of the blue they will get a shipment.

I think we will be doing the same soon, for specific shelf stable items we rely on due to our dietary restrictions. It was scary when we could not find these items anywhere in stores the first time around.

There's a key part you're missing:

"diluted household bleach solutions (at least 1000ppm sodium hypochlorite, or concentration of 5%–6%)"

Make sure you actually get strong enough concentration of it for it to be effective according to the CDC.

DIY auto repair, especially classic cars has seen a huge boost. The speed shop I go to sold more PerTronix electronic ignition conversion kits in May that they sold in the three previous years.

I scored some small hand sanitizer bottles for back to school along with hand sanitizer spray from the Bath and Body Works website. My kids aren't going back to school yet but I decided to stock in case they eventually do.

I kinda agree, but also the fact that families were home all the time means they needed more supplies like toilet paper, food, toiletries, etc..
Our family of five goes through a ton of food and supplies now that the kids are back home again. Between that and supply chains getting interrupted, I think this plays into it as well.

A few days ago, Eat This, Not That! posted the following article, saying that Costco was starting to get Clorox Wipes back in stock.

Costco is Selling This Beloved Grocery Essential Again

In the article, it mentions that the best way to score some is to go early, when stores open, or just before closing, as workers are bringing out supplies for the next morning.

My daughter called me from Costco later last night, asking me if I needed anything. I told her that the only things I had been looking for were face masks (which someone on here had mentioned they found at Costco) and Clorox or Kirkland disinfecting wipes. Our supplies at home are running low, as I haven't been able to find any since March. She called me back to say that she found masks, but searched for wipes to no avail. A few minutes later, she called me back, excitedly saying that as she was heading to the check-out, someone was just wheeling out a pallet of wipes. She asked if she could grab one, and was told the standard "one per customer." As she was leaving, someone spotted the wipes in her cart, asked where she found them, and then left her daughter with their cart so she could go back and get the wipes too.

All this just to confirm that yes, Clorox Wipes are starting to arrive back in stores, especially in bulk at places like Costco and also, you may have luck finding them later in the day when the stores are hopefully less busy, right before closing, which might be helpful for those who work and can't be there right when the stores open.

The last item on my bingo card is Clorox Anywhere Spray, otherwise, I feel like we are set for whatever may happen this fall as far as groceries/supplies go.
