Anyone else watch Weeds?

DW and I discovered the show on one of those Showtime free preview weekends. Now we are hooked. It is such a dark comedy, but very much an adult show. Mary Louise Parker, Kevin Nealon, and Justin Kirk are all very funny. The show's theme song is addictive.

I discovered it this weekend on On Demand and watched all of the first season episodes, so I was pretty excited to find out that the second season started tonight.

It was great.

I think I'm defecting to Showtime from HBO. No more Six Feet Under, no more Sex in the City, soon to be no more Sopranos, no more Deadwood, no more Carnivale, and probably no more Rome.

Also, do you watch Brotherhood? How is that? I saw some previews for it and thought it looked pretty intense.

We love weeds. It is a great show. We've also been watching Dead Like Me on Sci-Fi and we are really into that. Not sure why it lasted only 2 seasons but that seems to be the norm with cable shows. If it is good, get rid of it.

I watched the first season on dvd a few weeks ago. I love this show, too. I think Elizabeth Perkins did a fabulous job--she is just so snarky.

I might have to add Showtime just to watch this show. Can't get rid of HBO, though, because of Big Love.

It's funny how HBO and Showtime have become the home of some of the best shows on television now. I understand they show movies too, sometimes. Seriously, I barely watch movies anymore -- we have both networks just for their original series.

Bicker, I'm the same way. I watch more tv than movies. I got rid of HBO after Sex and the City. Then we got Showtime for Queer as Folk. When that ended we cancelled it. Now we got it back and I can watch Weeds! Woo Hoo!! I do agree; I love Elizabeth Perkins' character.
