LOL. For any movie? Or for that specific movie?
That one. I wasn't a big fan. Watching them turn the story on it's head by making every other character shallow & making Aurora's maternal grandfather and father the sinister, evil villains and turning it into a date rape analogy wasn't my idea of a fun Father's Day weekend. But Angelina was amaaaaaaaaazing.
But I know Disney made a lot of money, so I'm guessing Disney's in full Lifetime Television mode for fairy tales now. I can't wait to see how King Triton made poor Ursula do all those terrible things.
It's obvious you just don't get it. I personally am all for capitalism, but when disney charges exorbitant prices and quality and customer service go by the wayside then they are greedy. They will crowd more and more timeshares on Bay-lake than , let's say put more emphases on their rides and attractions in their theme parks.
There used to be this thing called "the Disney Difference" that disappeared a long time ago.
I have a problem with Disney continuing to raise tickets prices, but not offering any new attractions that are worth the price increase. Because of this, I choose to spend part of my time exploring Universal. They have new attractions.I'm curious, what do you consider 'quality and customer service gone by the wayside'? Do you have examples? The DVC's have been popular....that's why they're building more. How does that ruin Disney? Should they just stand still, paint the rides every few years all so they can charge $10 a ticket? Yes, I do get it. It's my choice to spend my money there, as its your choice not to. If their unabashed greed is so upsetting, why not stay away? That's the part I don't get.![]()

I don't see that as crazy. We are spending $8500 on 11 days 13 with the drive. That's with driving gas, food, tips, souvenirs and tickets to universal and sea world too. And we are only staying moderate and have free dining. If I stayed deluxe mine would be that easily. We have no tours, parties or extras booked![]()
This. The problem is when you stand still, paint the rides every few years and charge $100 for a ticket. Granted they've done more than just paint the rides....just not much more and nowhere near enough to justify the cost.I have a problem with Disney continuing to raise tickets prices, but not offering any new attractions that are worth the price increase. I'm not interested in DVC and I don't consider it something that everyone can enjoy. On the other hand if you enjoy it, great. But please don't suggest I stay away, because there are certain things I dislike about WDW.
People dont' stay away for the same reason sports fans continue to support and fill the stadiums of sports teams that suck year after year...blind loyalty.I'm curious, what do you consider 'quality and customer service gone by the wayside'? Most of that has been discussed already in this thread, not that far back.

Sorry, I didn't realize I wasn't suppose to respond because it's already been discussed. Have a great day anyway!
New Fantasyland is underwhelming to the point it could have almost been called much needed routine maintenance.I think they have done a lot more than just paint. They have refreshed so many rides and queues--Test Track, the Winnie the Pooh and Haunted Mansion queues, not to mention a total re-do of the Haunted Mansion not so long ago. New Fantasyland, Spaceship Earth. Star Tours. And then there are the resorts--so many have been remodeled. Fridges added to the value resorts. DVCs built. And don't forget all of the construction at Downtown Disney.
Yep, they have done waaaay more than paint.
Fridges in the value resorts should increase the price paid to stay at a value resort and in no way should justify an increase in the gate price at the parks.
This isn't the same as adding new innovative attractions! They added interactive elements to the queues to entertain guests while they're stuck in long lines. I honestly do not remember the Haunted Mansion re-do. Test track re-do was 2 years ago. Spaceship Earth was at least 5 years ago. New Fantasyland is a redo, I'll grant you, but not extraordinary.I think they have done a lot more than just paint. The resorts are re-done periodically because they need it. The carpets and furniture get run down. This is true for the entire hotel industry. Industry wide, most hotels of the same caliber as value resorts furnish refrigerators. This is not an upgrade item!
Both Downtown Disney and DVC are getting attention because they can suck more money out of their guests!
Where, I ask you, is the New Mind Blowing attraction? It's certainly not any that you listed.
Yes, but when it comes to raising prices, the math that Disney uses is 1+1=3 or sometimes 1+1=4.It is in an upgrade item if it was not previously included in the price.... even if other hotels include it in their own rates, the values did not previously include a fridge, it was an extra charge. So yes this would be an upgrade.
With the rising cost of pretty much everything - food, wages, supplies, utilities, health care, etc., why should WDW not raise their prices to offset their rising costs? I'm sorry but it I'm paying more at the supermarket, gas station, etc. common sense their ticket prices, hotel prices, package pricing is going to go up.... pure 1+1= 2 math in my mind. Do I enjoy paying for the rising prices, of course not but I get more irritated a the supermarket and gas station than I do a vacation I choose to purchase and go on... at least there are varying levels of entertainment I can purchase so I can fit a WDW into my budget.
