Anyone else planning for 2023?

We won't be going in the next year. For MANY reasons. Our hope is that by the time 2023 rolls around, masks will no longer be required, certain rides that havent been finished yet will be finished, and hopefully a majority of those holding out will have gone. Perhaps a pipe dream ;)

Anyways... any other Canadians planning for 2023? It gives me lots of time to decide on a DVC rental :)

No plans for anytime in the foreseeable future. I'm spending my money on other priorities now. Before all this, I went yearly. At some point in the probably distant future I'll go back to Disneyland again (I prefer it by far), but I am focusing on fixing up our place for now.

Chicinvic I am in the same boat,, normally I am a twice a year Disney visitor but right now I've changed direction and am saving up for a new to me car in a couple of years.

I do think I will need to see what the offerings are and what direction Disney is headed .
Here are a few things I have been thinking about.

1. Parades
2 After hour shows
3 Park attendance limits
4. Fast Pass + Or another program
5. Fireworks shows
6. Cleanliness of Parks
7. New and innovative ideas
8. Castmember treatment by Disney (after all the castmembers play a BIG role in Disney's success or failure).
9. Resort perks ,,,they are slowly slipping away........................................................
10. Value of Park tickets for a repeat experience.
11. Every little piece of magic now seems to have a price tag attached to it.

We want to go when Tron opens, and hopefully when things are back to "normal" a bit more. But I suspect we'll do Universal as well, and probably not as much time at Disney as we might have in the past.

I do hope the magic comes back to Disney. It is one of my favourite holidays. I am waiting to see what transpires this year before even considering a return to WDW. I have a little time on my side, so no need to rush back.

I hear you. I could hold off even longer, but I have three young children (all under age 10) and it makes them SO HAPPY just to be there. If I can make that happen for them, we'll go. They don't care about characters anymore, and they're scared of fireworks.

I’m hoping for 2022, but because we are dvc, there are plans in the works for 2023 as well. My hope is the 2023 trips will be a go while the 2022 trips are currently in jeopardy. Even if the parks are not back to normal, we will go and enjoy park free trips. My kids would probably say their favourite trips have been the ones where we didn’t visit any parks.

At first i was planning to wait until 2022. But I have the Disney bug and now we are looking at this Nov. We talked about not park hopping but with limited shows and some restaurants closed I'm thinking staying at one park all day and night might get a bit boring. So still not sure we should wait at least to 2022. 2023 is too big of a stretch without Disney!

We are hoping for this Christmas but that would set us up for a 2013 trip .. as with our dvc we intend to go every two years or so

2023 was the year we originally wanted to take our ss and his family. Hopefully we get in our 2022 trip with our two that are still at home. Also, not sure if we'll do disney with ss or Universal/Seaworld and maybe just one party day at disney. Or discovery cove. We'll have to decide (they will) what they want to do, more of a disney trip or Orlando trip. Given the price of tickets and knowing how they are I think I'd have an aneurysm keeping it all in while they slept in or complained about how far they have to walk, lol. I don't want to be that person saying do you know how much these &@#!% tickets costs?!?! LOL A disney water parks vacay might be best. We'll see.

2023 is a big celebration year for me, so I should probably start planning something very special now. But, truth to tell, I need to get past getting my COVID vaccine before I’ll feel good, or even safe, planning that far out. I do have a big trip (NZ, South Pacific) booked for 2022 — if I have to postpone it by a year, I will.

There are so many unknowns, it’s hard to make a solid plan. But we can dream and save up for when we can go ❤️

I am really hoping for some kind of Disney vacation in 2022 if it be WDW or Aulani and maybe Disneyland. My wife is thinking 2023 so we might just rent some of our DVC points that we need to bank and just have a great vacation. I am still planning 2022 so I might just book some options to see if they work out.

We were planning for 2022 until they cut back the resort perks, and since staying onsite has always been part of the trip for us it wouldn't be a Disney trip without staying onsite. But we won't pay more to get so much less so we've moved the extended family trip in 2022 to Cuba. EMH evenings was the deal breaker for us, but the loss of ME made it an impossibly expensive trip for the extended family since some of us are covering expenses for the younger families. It would just be too many rental cars that we don't really want to have, with parking fees for every one of them.

If they come to their senses we will be doing a 2 week trip in 2023, but otherwise we plan to do a split stay between Universal and St. Pete's and finally get to Busch Gardens -- we'll do 2 park days in Disney but we won't stay there.

I like your alternative to a complete Disney stay and it definitely got me thinking. I really want to go this fall, maybe November but it's hard to swallow cut EMH at night, lack of shows, and fireworks. We always stay onsite but perhaps a shorter stay at Disney and then Universal. Food for thought for sure.

As much as I say i'll stay off site, we'll probably end up renting DVC, haha. It's just so nice to be in that bubble! We will likely get a car rental for the first time, and that'll open up a lot of opportunities to leave the property.
