Anyone else planning for 2023?

Just booked a cruise for March 2023...esp as not certain March 2022 will be a go.
And...trying to figure out when to reschedule our Disney World trip. Kids are growing so March break will be out after 2023 so perhaps summer in the next few years. Ugh...so many plans spoiled and then so long until can reschedule.

I’m still planning for 2022 but I’m growing less optimistic things will be ‘normal’ by then. But I’ll have a better picture in 7-8 months when I need to book rooms. So definitely a wait and see. 2023 is problematic as I’d likely be moving back from overseas that year so much harder to plan for.

Our original plan pre-pandemic was Jan/22 before DD turns 10, but I don't think that will happen. 2023 is more realistic for us, but like other posters I don't think it will be a full-on Disney trip like in the past. I love the idea of renting DVC but seeing how posters got burned this time last year gives me pause - It's a lot of money! I don't know what to do, lol. Leaning towards maybe staying Universal next time and making that our focus with a couple of Disney days.

Eventhough we're booking trips for 2022, we are definitely looking toward 2023 as well. I think that year will be a major DVC trip for us, either a long stay at WDW and maybe a cruise on the Wish or a stay at Aulani followed by another Hawaiian island (I'd like to try the Big Island next). I'm thinking summer 2023 using banked 2021 points, current 2022 points and borrowed 2023 points (our use year is September).

The Big Island is WONDERFUL! It's our preferred place on Hawaii. We got married in Kona :)

I know things are uncertain right now but we are planning 2022, actually 2022 will hopefully be a big year as we have a Jan 2022 cruise, May DCL Alaska booked and hoping to book Europe in the summer. If the border reopens this year we are ready to plan a last minute trip to WDW in Dec. I guess (God willing)
I just want to make up the time. This past year (and counting) is not time we are getting back of course and I am very grateful we are healthy and can move forward. I know immediate travel won’t be for everyone ( by immediate I mean as soon as it’s allowed, quarantine lifted etc) but for my family, definitely yes. Maybe it will end being we can’t go anywhere til 2023 but at this point I’m not willing to accept waiting 2 years to travel. Everyone is different though and I totally understand wanting to wait as well. We have been to Disney so many times, and will probably continue to go annually so if it’s not the full experience, it’s ok. Honestly at this point I would just walk around the resorts lol.

I will be in the “soon as it is allowed“ camp. I’ve given up as much time as I want to give to this pandemic and miserable year. Like you, I’m grateful we are all well and we will continue to follow restrictions and public health advice. But as soon as we have open borders and are vaccinated I will be travelling. I think everyone will have a different threshold for returning to leisure travel and that is totally understandable .

I'm also in the "as soon as it's allowed" group. Haven't been in over 6 years (used to go every year, sometimes even twice a year) but got divorced and all that jazz lol.

Have been itching to go ever since my last trip. Had an April 2020 trip planned and I just used my credit to book March break 2022 flights hoping we'll be able to go. Got insurance in case though, so that I can move my flights in the event that we can't go.

I think you’ll be able to go :)
I hope it will be the start of going more often again too!

We will go back once things are some what back to normal
Fast passes are back, live shows and the dinning plan (if it does come back at all)

I would love to go in 2022 but the ways things are going I think 2023 is a good year to aim for.

That's how I feel. I wish we were going next year. Maybe we still will. But I don't see it happening any earlier than Spring of 2022.

Jumping in here as well because there's no way we can realistically plan for anything sooner. I'll gladly eat my words if we go sooner but since January is our usual time frame it's going to be pushed that far, we ain't going to fight all of the "OMG we can finally travel let's catch the 50th anniversary year" I *might* be able to convince hubby to go for a late November 2022 and be there for my 60th 🤔 but we have no idea how his business will recover from this uncertain time and if he'll be back to in person training or not

I've got trips in planning stages for 2021, 2022 & 2023... :D just let me travel!

I do wonder what the Disney differences will be by 2023 though, will Tron be open? will masks be gone? will there be a new airport transportation in place? Hopefully fireworks will be back. Dining plan? What else will change...

I was reading a travel blog and someone who normally does cruises went to Disney, they only had 3 day tickets and first day went to Magic Kingdom, she was going on about how she didn't know where she was going and the map wasn't helping... and I was just thinking "but Magic Kingdom is like home for us! Walk up main street, go this way for Space, that way for Big Thunder..." Oh I do miss it. For sure if things were better we would have a trip planned for this summer.

Oh I have it all mapped in my head ,,everything I want to see/explore/do and eat ,,,, BUT I need it all to be available .

The one thing I'm ok with is no Magical Express as I've been taking UBER from the Airport to the resort for the past few years.
I know I want to go during Epcot's Flower & Garden Festival (this year it's March to July) . Who knows when it will be in 2023.

I'd like to extend my usual stay of 7 days to 10 and enjoy UO a bit more. 2023 will be my granddaughters first year of University so I am not sure she will have the time off to come with me,,, but I am still going. Besides one of my 3 sons somehow manages to sneak in on my trips to Disney. lol

Hugs
Mel

We are tentatively planning a WDW trip for 2023. DS graduates from high school that year so it will be a big grad trip before he goes to University. We typically do DL every year and have only gone to WDW twice and we are planning on going all out! He has always wanted to stay at the Grand Floridian plus DH wants to go to the Star Wars hotel. I'm still pushing for going back to AKL because it is my favourite so it might be a 3 hotel split. Last time we went was in August and I never ever ever want to do that again but DS's school gets out earlier than BC public schools so it might be late June/early July which would be great since DS's 18th birthday is July 9th and our 24th anniversary is the next day.
