We are so fortunate that my parents :grouphug:have arranged a trip to WDW for myself::MinnieMo, my DH (first time)::MickeyMo, DS 23 months (first time):tigger:, DS 10 months(first time) :donald:from Aug. 1-6. My sister:tinker: and her family: DH (first time):goofy:, DD 6yrs (first time):earsgirl: and DS 4 yrs (first time):earsboy: are also being treated to this wonderful and generous gift of Magic. We are all so excited!

We are staying at The Contemporary and have character meals at Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace and Ohana. We have a dinner res at Ohana as well. Tickets to La Nouba and a day at Universal Islands of Adventure for me DH will add to the fun.

Anyone else going around the same time? Just curious :disrocks:

We're doing a grand gathering at the same time too! I can't wait!! Three of the eleven will be experiencing the magic for the first time!

I arrive at the Contemporary on August 6th for a week long stay. I am treating my X-Girlfriend and her 7 year old little princess princess: who has developmental delays. Like your parents, I am spreading the Disney Magic to those who will appreciate it.

I was last at Disney World in 1982 just before Epcot opened, and remember very little (was a pre-teen). The other two have never been before. They also have never experienced East Coast Heat and Humidity before (I unfortunately grew up in it, but not so far south).

We have 5 different Character meals planned and one meal at Coral Reaf. I figured that with the little princess' issues princess: that the meals would be a much better way to meet the characters than waiting in line at character meets.

We have a Special Needs stroller rental arranged through Orlando Stroller Rentals.

I don't know if I have planned too little or too much, but my focus at the moment is on clothing and accessories for the trip, especially the flight from the west coast.

We are going from July 26 to Aug 3 but we are thinking of adding two more days.
As we are taking three children so we plan to take it slow.
It's been a long time since we took a baby, so that is why we think we will need two more day.

We don't check in until August 9th....but I'm super excited for this trip as well!!!!

It's the 2nd trip for my youngest daughter but the first she'll truly remember. :)

Hi! Wow that is so exciting for you and your group! 6 of the 10 of us will be experiencing the Magic for the first time too. :wizard: However, my DS (20 months) and my younger DS (10 months) are a bit young to really appreciate it. That being said, I DO know that they will enjoy all the sights and sounds and hopefully get to ride a few things (my older one, anyway). My DH has never been either and at this point I think he doesn't really understand what WDW is all about. :confused3 His only exposure to Disney has been the movies and all the available merchandise out there. I'm hoping that he'll also be roped in by the magic while we are there and that he doesn't feel "too cool for school". He HAS agreed to wear a couple of t-shirts I made from the DISign thread so I think he's on his way! :goodvibes

Hope you have a FABULOUS Grand Gathering and create loads of new memories! :grouphug:

Wow teachallday, you are one wonderful and generous Mouseketeer!

Your X and her little princess will surely be captured by the magic :wizard: that both you and WDW have to offer. I'm sure the trip will create many priceless moments for all of you that will live on forever, especially in a little girl's memory :cutie:

Your plans sound great. There are way too many fantastic places to eat that I had a hard time deciding where to make advance reservations. 4 full days is just not enough! However, we are so happy to take what we can get ;) I agree with you...character meals seem like the best way for our kids as well. They are under 2 so the waits in the park could become a bit too much for them to handle, plus we will have more time to spend exploring rather than waiting.

I have become the leader for our Grand Gathering in terms of making arrangements, researching, etc since I am home with my kids and can be on the computer a lot through the day. It is fun, however it makes me realize how prepared we need to be. Gone are the days where you can "wing it" at WDW...too much to see and do and eat! popcorn::

Have a fun time on your trip!:woohoo:

I completely understand and think it is a great idea to take it slow with 3 kids, including a baby. I wish we were able to extend our trip but it didn't work out that way. There is so much to see and do and eat...4 full days just doesn't seem at all like enough time! :scared: I suppose that means we will have to visit again someday Our kids are 20 months and 10 months old...I'm a little nervous but also very excited and hope to take everything in stride while we are there!!

Have an amazing time with your family...safe travels!:upsidedow

We are a group of 10 (7 adults and 3 children-4,2, 8 months) arriving on August 4th and staying to the 10th. We are staying at the Bay Lake Tower. I have made dining reservations on the day we arrive at Ohanas to celebrate my dad's 60th birthday. I made a reservation for breakfast at Chef Mickey's the day we leave as like a last big "hurrah"

Have a great trip!
