We are booked for the POP Jan. 25 - Jan. 31 !!  Anyone else going around this time ? We have been to WDW several times this time of year and are hoping for beautiful weather and livable crowds. :worship: So anyone else going we might see you there !!

We will be there from jan 24-21. It will be me, my mom, and my 7 and 9 year old boys.

Robin

January 13-20!!

It will be my Mom, brother, his wife, her mom and their two kids and my two daughters and me.

A bitter sweet trip because my Dad passed away in June and he was always with us :(

It's also our first time in January (usually we go right after Thanksgiving. I think the parks are going to look bare without the Christmas decorations!

I'm hoping for warm weather. I've never been in a park in long pants in my life.

We will be at the Pop from January 21-23 for a little getaway for my DD6's birthday. :yay: :woohoo: It will be me, my daughter and my Mom. This will be our second January trip to the Pop to celebrate DD's birthday and I'm hoping for another great room. Last time, we got one that overlooked the Hippy Dippy pool and it was wonderful!

I'm hoping for warm weather. I've never been in a park in long pants in my life.

When we went in January '07, it was pretty nice weather (lower 70's I think.) Sunny but still cool and no rain (yay!) We wore jeans and a light sweater on and off during the day but it got quite chilly at night by the time the sun set so much so that we had to run in a gift shop to buy DD a little blanket to wrap around her so we could stay for the fireworks. The pools you could go for a dip during the day but by night the air was too chilly for me to feel up to swimming.

Although, I do live here so those temps are "cold" for me. I use to live in OH (I see you are from Michigan) so it may just feel like nice warm weather for you guys! ;) But honestly, we have really wonderful weather here in January, I think you will really enjoy it.

We'll be at Pop Jan 24-30! Have done Pop twice but always the first week of May. Have never been in January so I'm looking forward to it! Should I bring shorts for the boys or just sweats? My boys are generally hot natured so I'm thinking shorts and tshirts with hoodies they can take on and off. Any suggestions?

I was SO going to discount your weather opinion when I saw you lived in SW Florida :lmao: but after I read you lived in Ohio before I took it more seriously :lol Something does happen to your blood living in Florida. I remember last December talking to a CM outside of Tony's early in the morning and she had gloves on. It was 70 degrees with bright sun! We we're fine in our shorts and her teeth were chattering. It was a pretty funny conversation about the relativity of weather compared to what you're used to.

Low 70s to us is shorts and tanktop weather for sure. We did a trip in May, 2000 (around Mother's Day) it was was so incredibly hot and humid you could barely breathe. It was unseasonably warm but that has soured me for a spring trip for 8 years.

I'll be there January 19-17th! I'm taking my two sisters as a graduation gift to myself (just finished my Master's of Divinity in May). We are soooo excited as it will be our first trip with just the three of us, plus our first trip to WDW. I've heard such great things about the Pop; hope we see some of you there!:thumbsup2

We have gone in Jan. the last few years, and the weather varied each time. One year we woke up to ice on the windshield of our car and windy :scared: . I dont think it got above 55 all day. Then other times it has been mid 70's to low 80's, and beautiful. Sometimes a little rain, but not bad. But I do agree with you on the fact of living in FL. your body feels anything below 70 all the way to the bone !!

I'm sorry (but not too much ;) ) that I have to back out of this thread.

Mom, who's funding this grand gathering, talked to CRO yesterday at 5:15 and booked Wilderness Lodge with the discount

I do hope we get to stay at Pop one of these times!

DD5 is kind of dissappointed, too, so we'll definitely try to make the time to check out Pop for another time.

You all have a GREAT time!!

Enjoy WL-we ate dinner there in May and it was beautiful! I would love to stay there but I'm cheap, so Pop will do! Although with this new deal, hubby is wanting to upgrade to AKL! He can't just enjoy the savings!!

We'll be there Jan 29th to Feb 5th....

DH, DD10, DD7, FIL and I.

Like you, bittersweet because it's the first trip without MIL - she passed away (breast cancer) in July. I didn't expect FIL to want to go this year, but he brought it up, and seems to be taking joy in the planning with me.

We will be at Pop from the 10-17! We are so excited. I've started figuring out which days we will be at which parks. I want to make sure we see things like Spectromagic and Fantasmic, so I have to plan accordingly. We only have the basic passes, so no park hopping for us!

I can't wait to try out the food court. We've never stayed onsite, and we've never even stayed somewhere with a food court or such great shuttle service. It's a whole new kind of trip! (We've always rented a condo/house/townhouse offsite).

I figure the weather will be something like October in Chicago at the very least. That's manageable for me. That kind of weather is soooo much more pleasant than January in Chicago. To escape the frigidity for a week will be wonderful...although I am a little worried about the journey. Hopefully, there won't be any major snowstorms on our way down there! (On the way home, having to stay in FL for an extra day wouldn't be the end of the world!)

We will be staying at POP for our first time Jan 31-Feb 7. We have never stayed here before because we are a family of 5, but decided to try it and get two rooms:) So excited to try a new resort - and have more room:)

My two best friends and I will be there from January 14 - 18. This will be my fourth visit to the World and their first. This is also my first time staying at Pop. I am very excited to introduce them to the joys of the World! :lovestruc

I have only ever been during the summer (when school is out) so I think I might be most excited about the weather and the crowd level!

Well....I really wouldn't get your hopes up too much for the food court. My memories of the food court at the All-Stars (and I'm expecting the same) were LOTS of noise, really mediocrefood. And I'm not very fussy, to be honest, not about quick food. I don't plan to eat at the food court at all, unless we're desperate.

My expectations are pretty reasonable...I'm just happy that it's there at the end of the day. That's it's open as much as it is. I'm not sure how much we will even eat there as we are doing grocery delivery for snacks and breakfast stuff. But I like the idea more than anything! :lmao:

And while I've heard terrible things about their coffee...I'm not picky! I am excited to have a few moments to myself every morning on my walk to the food court to pick up my coffee before the day gets going! I like that we can refill the mugs on our way back to the room as well, at night.

It just simplifies my life while I'm there! Actually, we are very healthy eaters overall...I'm pretty sure that living on Disney food the whole week will be an adjustment, but I'm just excited to have a new experience!

My 2 sons (23 & 13) and I will be there Jan 10th - 17th. Been to Disney 6 times prior. Have always gotten a condo or house so this is our first time staying onsite.

Bump !!
Time's getting closer !!!:yay: :cool1:

I know, I am starting to get really excited-but I feel so guilty---I should be more into Christmas, but all I can think about is Disney!!!! For me there is so much going on between today and our leaving day-Christmas, my Bday(which is also Christmas), and I will take my nursing boards at the beginning of January!!! Woohoo-let the time fly:cool1:

My DH and 2 DD's will be with me...this will be our 2nd time at Pop...my Dd's LOVE the frozen coke machines (if they are not broke down). Being from Wisconsin, we swam in the pool when we got back from the parks...even in 60 degree weather. We will wear shorts, tank top(or t-shirt) and a sweatshirt to the parks in the morning. When it's warm, we will tie the sweatshirt around our waist and put them back on in the evening. We are fine in shorts our entire trip. People will ask where we live on the bus ride back to the resort as they are freezing...wrapped in blankets, hats and mittens. We do take little gloves and headbands in our backpacks just in case.

Just received our Magical Express paperwork in the mail today. 40 days and we will be having fun in the sun!!!

If you see people in Green Bay packer hats or Wisconsin Badger apprarel, that's us! Say hi...:wave2:
