We will be staying at CB from Dec 23-29. This is our second time to spend Christmas at Disney World. In 2001 our family of 16 stayed in Cabins at FW. It was wonderful but very crowded. This time there will be 22 of us, 2 new son-in-laws and 4 new babies since the last trip 5 years ago. We are really looking forward to the dining plan this time. But with so many of us, I am already planning a daily schedule and what resturants we will go to. I know I will have to have priority seating for all table service meals. We would love to do the HDR for Christmas day. I hope I can get a reservation, I know it will probably be hard to get. I am so glad to see that I am not the only person planning this early.
I have a question for KristeneN. I love the shirts your family are wearing in the pictures, we plan to do this also (we did it last time). I would like to see them better or find out were you got them or how you made them.

Janie...

I did make them. Here's a couple of bigger pics...and a couple of pics of different designs. We had a great time wearing them.

Kristine,
Thank you for sending the pictures. They are GREAT! I love all the shirts, you did such a good job. Are they all iron on transfers or fabric appliques? Last time we went at christmas my Mother painted a christmas wreath with Mickey's head in the center on white t-shirts, and they were embellished with glitter and stones. And I did fabric appliques on denim shirts, different pooh characters holding on to a candy cane. I got the idea from an ornament pattern. They were really cute, but we would like to do something different this time and maybe a litter easier. We have 22 of them to make.
I have already looked at the DISign board that tinknme suggested and there are a lot of really good designs there. We should be able to come up with something cute.

Janie...

I used iron on transfer paper. I bought it from a guy (Roberto) on eBay. If you want his info, let me know. I made 50 shirts for the last trip! It was exhausting. The next trip has 5 more people coming...I haven't decided what to do. Not sure if I have it in me to make 100 shirts!! :faint::faint:
Although, it was such a good experience wearing them..lots of attention and fun stuff happened.

I just made reservations for day 1 of our trip!!!!!!

(For non DVC people...you make reservations at the 11 month mark, and since it's such a busy time of year...you do it day by day)

Now it feels real!!:woohoo::yay::thumbsup2 Can you tell I am happy?! :)

YAAAYY!!!! that's always exciting!! we booked a mini trip a couple nights ago to the WORLD in MAY! so that helps out a bit too!!

Our trip is booked for 12/7 to 12/11 :cool1: and time is not going by quick enough :hourglass. Need some magic to make it go faster pixiedust:

Kristine,
I would like to get the info on the transfer paper from Roberto. Thank you for offering. I am really getting anxious now to start planning our shirts.

If you do it day by day, is there a risk that a day won't be available? I have though about renting points, but I am really scared. I confess, I really don't get how it works. But, I think it could work out cheaper. I was looking at the boardwalk for my dates & the points calculator said I would need 36 points. If they are around $11 a point, that's $396! Very cheap!

We'll be at WDW from December 26-January 5. Hopefully, we'll be spending part of that stay at the BWV. We're also starting to build a plan for Christmas and New Years dinners. I can't wait. I'm glad there are others compulsively planning like me!

By doing it day by day you are pretty much guaranteeing that you will get it. There's the whole 11 month home resort booking policy. Renting points really is an economical option. I wouldn't be too scared...so many of us have references...just make sure you ask lots of questions, get references and more than anything, feel comfortable with the person. Let me know if you have any questions...

So, basically, I have the first step right? Figure out where you would like to stay & when. Then plug it into the calculator. So then, do you go to the rent/trade board & post what you are looking for? Also, I think I remember reading that you don't get mousekeeping (no biggy), is that right? Can I still get the dining plan? Can I use magical express?

Thanks for helping me out!

If you are renting points, you are treated as an owner..no daily maid service. For stays of seven or less nights, you get a trash & towel service on day 4. ....8 nights or more get full cleaning on day four and trash & towel service on day 8. You can pay for additional housekeeping days if it's something that bothers you. If you stay in a 1 bedroom or bigger, there is a washer & dryer in your place. Boardwalk has a free laundry room for people staying in studios...it's on the 1st floor.

Yes you can get the dining plan. It has to be added onto your reservation. You can't add it on once you arrive. The nice thing is, you don't pay for it until check in.

Yes, you can use Magical express as well.

Rental boards is a good place to look. Lots of listings over there.

Thank you so much for all the info! I am really leaning toward this. It would be nice to stay in a upper level resort without paying $200/night! I can live without mousekeeping, lol.

I went ahead & placed an "add." Do you know how you pay? I mean is the total due upfront? Or does it differ from owner to owner? I think it is awesome that you don't have to pay for the dining until check in! What about tickets? Do I have to buy them with the dining, like a package?

Again, thanks! You are a big help!
