I am working on very preliminary plans right now. My DD has never been to WDW and I have not been there since about '83. I'm still trying to decide if we want to do New Year's Eve there or fly out New Year's Day. So I don't know if we are arriving in December or not. lol

Somebody pinch me!!! I'm hopping on board this December '07 train! We were going to go 1/1-1/8/08 and then we get a postcard in the mail today for 40% off and I was able to book the Poly from 12/19-12/27 for $194/night with tax. Totally unreal!!! We've been to WDW during Christmas before in 2004 and no Christmas has been the same since! We loved the Osborne Lights and the Candlelight Processional and it looks like we'll be able to catch MVMCP which we weren't able to see in '04. Not crazy about dealing with the crowds again, but even if we went 1/1, the crowds would be just as bad. You just have to go with a plan. All in all, I'm now counting the days down with all of you!

We are planning to be at WDW from December 23, 2007- Jan 5, 2008. We will be at Fort Wilderness at first then transfer to OKW. We have been to WDW right after Christmas before but never for Christmas day. We are excited. I hope Santa can pull this off though with us not being home! Lori

Just got off the phone with CRO:


Ok...

I just called CRO & spoke with a very nice man. I asked for POP for 5 nights starting 12/10 w/5 day hoppers and dining for 2 adults & one child. He quoted me $1661.36--the exact figure I got when I checked at disneyworld.com--okay.

I then ask if I am available for any discounted rates, that I have heard about codes and discounts. He says "let me check." This takes a few minutes. He comes back & says he found one, "now lets see if I can apply it." Then, "yes, it went through. The amount is $1474.96." I say okay, I'll take it. I asked if this was "some kind of pin attached to my name," & he tells me no, that those are mailed out to special people they are marketing. Oh, okay. He never says what code he used. I don't specifically ask.

He also tells me that if any thing else is released in the future, I can call back & apply a different discount if it is better.

So, I ask him to give me a quote on Wilderness Lodge. Nothing available with the discount, but he can get AK, so I say go ahead. He quotes me $2041.86 for pool view--for the same as above w/POP, same dates, days, everything. I ask him to knock off one day (still keeping 5 day hoppers) & he quotes me $1784.13--when you subtract about $90 for a day less of dining, that comes to about $166/night, right? That's good, no?

**AK, 4 nights, 5 day hoppers, dining for 2A, 1C on disneyworld.com is $2,144.13, so that's a $360 savings--divide 360 by 4 nights, that's $90/night off? Pool view is $230 rack, right?

Now to talk to DH & see what he thinks. I took POP, have a confirmation number, but I might call back for AK...

UGHHHH. Now I am sitting here thinking about calling back for AKL. Is it worth $566.90 more to stay there? Or even $309.17 (giving up 1 night)? I just don't know.

On the one hand, we really don't spend much time at the resort. On the other hand, this is probably our best chance at ever staying deluxe. It is also probably the last time we will do Disney for a while. *sigh*

STAY WITH POP! i always take more days vs the resort and we're in LOVE LOVE LOVE with POP!!!

My vote is with AKL...

I am not a big POP fan (sorry Michelle) It sounds like a good deal...but you need to decide what makes the best sense for your family

Ugh... they both make sense, lol. OUr orginal plan was 4 nights at Disney & 3 at Universal. Because of the discount I wanted a quote for 5 nights. I could go back to my original plan of 4 nights & take AKL. The thing that is pushing me towards it is that DH's favorite park is AK. I really think he would love AKL. DS would probably more enjoy POP, but would love the bunkbeds & pool at AKL.
