That very thing is one of my earliest memories. I remember when we lived in an upstairs apartment. The pictures that I have of that time listed me as 3 years old. I remember so clearly sitting at the kitchen table with my mother. I'd look through the toy pages and point out what I wanted even though I might not even have known what they were. If they looked like something I wanted, that was all I needed. I even remember thinking that the bigger I made the list the more I might get even though I expected much less than I wanted.

Since I was one of the first grandchildren on either side of the family, I got almost every single thing on the list thanks to mom, dad grandpa and grandma's, aunts, uncles and even friends of the family. I rode that wave for awhile until two things happened. One was that the list of cousins started to expand and when my sister was born that bubble popped on that day. Up until that day I didn't even know the word "share" existed.
