I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

I think I'm going to drain our URs by booking 2 nights Universal’s Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, it is currently @2X Point Boost. The dates that I need won't open for 2 weeks so I hope that the 2X point boost is still there when I go to book our trip.

My plan is to fly in Saturday, stay at the Hyatt near by, check in Sunday morning to activate our Express pass and spend 3 days using express pass. It will be the Sunday, Monday, Tuesday before Thanksgiving break. Hoping we can enjoy those 3 days, we haven't been to USO since 2020.

Now to figure out a way to replenish our URs.

Any idea when the Hyatt premium card is coming out? I have property taxes coming up in early Feb., so need a new MSR. Hopefully it will be like the MSR in days of old where you got 2 FNCs at any category hotel.

The press release did not specify.
This is loaded speculation, but the speculation is it will come out at the end of Q2 because that's when they announced the Hyatt status will start with 75k spend on the Reserve card. They also announced that luxury integration will begin at this time with all allia/park hyatt properties. I also feel this could be accurate or just a rumor, but it would make sense to roll it out at once.

Have you tried contacting the Chase concierge to get a reservation? If you have the AmEx plat card their concierge is pretty good at securing last-minute reservations at popular restaruants (you don't have to pay with the plat card). Also Greek cuisine is amazing -- one of my fav parts of my time in Athens was eating lol.

I haven't. I was using Open Table with my CSR but this actually works well because it would be right before we go to see Back to the Future using my Stubhub credit. But I need to look into both (I do have Platinum) because I've never used either.

Yes, the added a bunch of cities yesterday. We now have 8 restaurants in Oklahoma. I cancelled our weekend trip to Dallas that I had booked specifically to use the $300 in CSR dinning credits.
It will make me reanalyze whether we’ll keep the card next renewal. We own DVC so we do go to Orlando once a year. And while there’s nothing local to us, Boston isn’t too far so a weekend Edit + dining works for the other credit.

Husband’s spend on the card this year was $55k between work and personal travel. I’ll have to math it, but gut is if he continues that kind of spend to keep it since the majority of the spend qualifies for 4x and the rest 3x.

As long as she didn't complete an application, she can try the other methods asap. You may find different browsers, google searches, direct methods, etc all result in varying offers, which may change from one minute to the next
I asked her to check again today, and she said she never got to the points part- she got a screen saying her request couldn’t be completed (summary, not exact words) and she would get a letter explaining in two weeks. She swears she didn’t click anything differently but she’s also 82 and quite tech-challenged… normally I am on the phone walking her through every step. I’m guessing I can’t have her do anything until the letter comes, but does this sequence of events sound familiar to anyone?

I thought you had pay the difference of the price of what you paid to what current prices are if tickets were expired.
Ok so the current value of those tickets is around $500, and if the price goes up $50, I’d pay $50 right? I’d still save the difference between $500-389?

I could be wrong but you wont get the same savings you get via costco, you would pay whatever the current rate is for those tickets, which since those tickets are sold at a discount you would be out all that savings plus any increase in base price from now til then.

I’m confused. If I buy the tickets now for $389 (current price $500) and they expire in 2026, and the price goes up to $550 in 2027, you’re saying they would charge me an additional $550-389=$161.00 for each ticket to use after expiration? I’ve not had that experience before but I don’t know if it’s changed.

I haven’t done it myself but this what I have seen reported online that Disney honors the only the amount paid for the tickets not the value of what they are being sold for by Disney.

I wonder if she withdrew the app 3 times. See this DP. Link

The personal plat has "up to" offers. Maybe not proceeding with the app after getting the offer counts as a canceled app.

It's changed. They used to 'bridge' tickets bought at a discount elsewhere and now they don't (ie they would bring the ticket up to current gate price.) Sad discount to lose. They also know what was paid for the tickets.

Clueless about the credit, but Charley's is excellent!

Dined there in February on one of my trips. Was with extended family and we were all staying in Celebration after our Disney time and this is a family favorite.
I go to Norman's every few months, it's a resy and CSR credit. Maybe I can keep the card after all, trying to push DW to go this week before the credit ends lol.
edit wife goes you never been to charlies, so going there!

This may be broadly known but thought I'd share since it was a pleasant surprise for me. Recently I stayed at a local Marriott for 1 night just to use the FHR credit. After the stay to my surprise, I got a notification from Marriott that I earned a FNC. Turns out there's a promo (that I must have clicked on awhile back) to stay 1 night and get 1 FNC free, and the FHR stay (booked through Amex Travel) counts.

Thanks for posting this! They added a couple of restaurants in Naples too! I guess I get to get a couple of "free" dinners afterall!

I looked at those since I'm down in Naples often but of the three currently in Naples, I can't see taking my mom to any of them. Too bad Sails wasn't on there--their brunch is unreal.

Anyone have a recommendation for one night pre-cruise in Athens? I have CSR and Platinum, Hilton points, can get a Hilton FNC, and some Hyatt points.

I'll try Ocean Prime. We didn't care for Blackbird and the one in North Naples doesn't look like something we'd enjoy. So silly the list is so limited to begin with. Amex made their dining credit so easy to use!
