Does anyone else here act like they're personal friends with the podcast crew despite never having actually met them? :goodvibes After listening to the podcasts for close to a year now, I find myself bringing the crew up in daily conversation. When talking to dh, I find myself saying, "Pete and I think that........" or "Kevin recommended that we try......" or "Kathy was there last week and...." etc....... My dh just laughs at me everytime, and yes, even rolls his eyes on occasion. Please tell me I'm not the only crazy one please??? :thumbsup2

Nope! All the rest of us are perfectly normal. :rotfl:

I find myself saying "My friend who went to the Grand opening of HP said..." Or "My friend ate there and had a horriable expierence...."

I also talk as they are close friends of mine I like to think we all are close friends in a way so your not the only one.Someday when I am in the world I would like to take them to dinner kind of a way to say thank you for what they do.

Sometimes I'll mention them on other forums here on The Dis...

"Well, Kevin really loved his meal at Brown Derby" or "Even Pete liked Pop Century"...

To which the replies are often, "Who are Pete and Kevin???"

Which seems shocking to me somehow... You're here on The Dis and DON'T listen to the Podcast ??? :)

WOW! That is a surprise.
But I listened to the podcast long before even knowing about the forums, so I guess it can go both ways.

The one I think is odd is "should I use Dreams Unlimited as my travel agent?" I want to yell at them, "these boards are run by people who run a travel agency!!!"

Yes, we are all a little bit crazy.

*raises hand* I lurked on the trip planning forums on and off for years, didn't actually join until last year, and finally started listening to the podcast late last year. Now I'm as addicted as all you crazy people! :grouphug:

**raising hand**
DH & I do all the time...WE talk about the pod cast crew like they are part of our family....

I've often thought how weird it would be to run into someone from the podcast at the parks, You feel like you "know" them from the show and the boards, ect...but if I went up to them, they would have no clue who I am.

Guilty!

But DH listens too- so we compare thoughts after we have each listened during our commutes. When we discuss it at the dinner table, sometimes our kids will say "Who's Pete?", etc. Then, "Oh yeah- from "the Podcast!" :rotfl:

But yes, we have fully included the Podcast Team in our daily conversations and as a part of our extended family! :goodvibes

Yes i think you are crazy.......But feel like im personal friends with Howard Stern...So im crazy too:3dglasses

Absolutely!

Both my mom and I listen, so my dad and sister used to get very confused when we'd discuss what the crew had been up to.

Now they know them all by name!

two years later and I'm still not over Bob's passing and I've never met the man in my life..

OMG! Happens to me all the time. I'm the one (at work, with family and friends) who everyone comes to for Disney advise. Then I'm often saying "well Pete said" or "Kevin and John had a good/bad experience at..." Then I try, in vain, to explain to NON Disers who these people are. Just today my sister called to talk to me about seeing Universal's Harry Potter Special on NBC last night. ***Can you imagine how much I had to say to her?!*** And all of my information was via the Podcast Crew (as if they were my best friends AND the most trusted people on the planet.)

This is also why I'm a little afraid to meet anyone from the podcast - as much as I'd love to. They don't really know me at all, but I've spent so much time with THEM, in my car, in the kitchen.... Seems like it would be weird for one of us, not sure whether for them or me.

So to the OP - crazy right there with ya!
Do you think the Podcast crew will consider hiring security after reading these?:upsidedow

Uhm... Maybe... ;) ok. I gave up and just refer to them as my friends and leave out the explanation.. After all they don't know if Kevin is my BFF or not. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I do this A LOT it's always like " this guy I know told me . . ." but I don't actually know them LOL but after december I can say that I met them!:goodvibes

My close friends and family definitely know that I listen to the podcast, mainly because I summarize the episodes at lunch and dinner, LOL. I tend to say, "Kevin said that..." or "Kathy and I both agree that..." and stuff like that. :)

I'm another crazy one; I feel so close to the whole podcast crew, and yet I realize that they don't have a clue who I am. I think it comes from the way the podcast team relates to each other. Every time I listen to a podcast I almost feel like I'm there with them.

I'm another one who was very impacted by Bob and by his passing. For whatever reason I really related to Bob and I miss him so much, it's something I don't try to explain to people because I really don't understand it myself.

& what's so crazy about that?

My 78 year old mother listens to the podcast with me and would probably invite them all to Xmas if they'd come...
