I can't wait! We'll be puttin up the tent at FW and hopefully by Oct, it won't be so nasty hot around here!

Ever been to MNSSHP? What's your favorite thing about it?
Too bad they aren't doing the haunted hayrides until the 10th.

Getting excited!

We camped at FW for MNSSHP a couple of years ago. It was near the end of October and the weather was mild...enough for a long sleeve shirt in the evening/morning but tank tops and shorts during the day. :thumbsup2

It was a bit crowded on the Friday night when we were there though. There were a lot of little ones in costumes at the campground and a lot of noise, even through the wee hours of the night.

Unfortunately the hayrides weren't going on for some reason when we were there but we loved the event. It was very convenient to take the water launch from FW straight to MK and despite the campground being a bit loud and crowded the parks usually aren't bad at all during MNSSHP.

We're heading down on October 6 and staying until the 20th. Haven't decided whether to go to MNSSHP or not; depends on whether my DGD will be able to go. If she goes, we are going to surprise her with the party. Hope she doesn't hear about them ahead of time.

:cheer2: We'll be there Oct 24-29th God willing they finish fixing our camper by then. :cheer2:

:furious: GRRRRRR to previous owner and not sealing things right and wood rott, ok, off my soap box for the day. :furious:

October is my favorite time to go to FW. We have been to MNSSHP twice. I like seeing kids and grown up dress for holloween. Magic Kingdom really looks neat.. I won't give it away but it a great time to go!! Have fun!!

we plan to be there (cabin) sept 29-oct3 with mnsshp on oct. 2 :woohoo:

Oct 7,14th :Pinkbounc 30 ft TT We have a preferred loop this time, DH wants the cable so the kids can watch tv and he gets the dish.. yea I know it's "camping" :rotfl:
Still working on what decorations to take..Put most of our stuff in there already, DH is wanting to get new inflatables.. :sad2: the one he picked out is 50$ a gargolye .. I wanted to get the howling ghost wolf.. he vetoed it as it would be "too nosiy" at the campground :confused3

we are doing 2 nites of MNSSHP.. Dh does not want to get a golf cart, the kids are begging :love1: not sure if he will give in or not.. we better not wait much longer they could be all gone .... last year we were lucky to get one while we were there, just went up that day and they had a cancellation  The best part is driving around looking at all the decorations.

Im still waiting for DH to make the mickey mouse light post... :rolleyes1

see ya at the Fort!

May I ask where the leaks were? we have been fighting a leak all year.. DH has taken it several times and they can't find it! :confused3 we had to replace the kitchen floor, and wood etc.. They even stripped all the edging off and replaced it.. DH went to pick up the camper to get it ready for labor day and the linolium is stained underneath AGAIN :furious: yes it's going back... :guilty: to the dealer we purchased it from..it's a 98 4 winds w fiberglass side, stryo insulation....

thanks for anyones help or suggestions...

have them check the connection at the wall where the water comes into the camper from the hose connection...that is where one of my leaks was....found it myself by accident...good luck!!

Ours is a 4winds too, interesting to hear you are having problems. From what I was told by fourwinds when I called them and told them this camper that has been used less than 2 dozen times had this problem they told me basically it could NOT be their fault,b/c they obviously are perfect, and our warranty is void b/c we bought it 2nd hand.
The leak is where the frontcap meets the roof. Even though it was well sealed, flex in it allowed water to get in, all the wood over the bed (front bedroom 5ver) must be replaced, some fiberglass, ect.
Thing is, we NEVER saw water, NEVER. We brought it in b/c the sidewall delaminated OUTSIDE of the unit, and thougth it was a simple fix...boy were we wrong.
But..in the end it'll be worth it, I always say, as long as I'm in my camper, I'm only sleeping with my own bedbugs, when I have to hotel I'm sleepin with everyone else's.

hi cakesnkids,
thanks for your reply. and to djblu883, thats the first thing they checked too.. no leak :)

the side wall also delaminated.. that's how DH noticed it the first time, we found all the water in the tarp below the camper, It's got a piece of black fabric that keeps it insulated (i guess)across the entire bottom, we looked underneath and the entire front end was a giant balloon. He took it to the dealer, needless to say they were shocked :sad2: I think they just popped it and let the water drain out. I know there's a new tarp again.
We are the original owners so they can fight with us tooth n nail..in fact Dh was so angry he wanted them to take it back...

I will let you know how it goes this time around. They will start working on it today... I told them we need it back before Oct! last time they had it almost 2 weeks..

thanks again...
Trish

We went for the first time last year and stayed at All Star Movies for the first time at a value. Glad we were at a hotel and not in the Fort...it was the week end that Hurricane Wilma hit and that was the night we were at MNSSHP! Too much rain! But we survived without any problems.

This year we will be at the Fort in our 30' Airstream so I really hope there is no Hurricanes to contend with. We have been near the end of October before when the weather was great and when there was one rainy day. So that time of year is kind of in transition I guess.

We will be making our first ever visit to FW the week of halloween staying in one of the preferred sites. If you see two old farts halloween night huddled around a big bowl of trick or treat candy, come on up and get some. Of course there will b e something lime green to identify us as dis members.

You may be arriving just as we leave. We will be there from 10/20-10/23. We will be in a preferred loop in a 30' Airstream with orange Mickey pumkin lights on the awning and something lime green on the front end window...don't know yet but it will probably be Micky themed  and we will have a lime green Mickey head from HD on our site number post.:thumbsup2

We'll be tenting it for the first time at FW Oct.18-21. Hoping to do Halloween Party on the 19th. Can't wait!
